Complete scam never ever hand these people your card detail they will mis sell you enter you into a contract and then will not cancel the member ship until extra fees have been collected so they will illegally keep charging you

I strongly advise anyone considering joining GymNation Downtown to carefully read the membership terms before joining.
I requested to cancel my membership twice due to financial difficulties and safety during the days we kept receiving alarms to stay indoor, but both requests were rejected because GymNation only accepts cancellations under very limited circumstances, such as: A medical condition supported by a certificate stating you are unfit to exercise, Pregnancy, Relocation, with strict supporting documents.(no consideration for the safety)
Their cancellation policy is extremely unreasonable and unfair. If your situation falls outside these narrow conditions, they simply continue charging your membership fees, regardless of whether you are actually using the gym.
Despite informing them twice that I wanted to cancel my contract, they continued to charge me for a membership I have not used. Instead of resolving the issue, they repeatedly sent payment reminders and collection emails.
What is even more disappointing is that I recently received an email from their legal team threatening legal action over charges for a membership I had already requested to cancel. This approach feels intimidating and unnecessarily aggressive, especially when a customer has made genuine efforts to terminate the contract.
I believe businesses should treat customers fairly and have reasonable cancellation policies rather than trapping members in long-term contracts and threatening legal action when they can no longer continue the membership.
My advice to anyone thinking of joining GymNation is simple: read the cancellation policy very carefully before joining. Leaving the membership may be far more difficult than joining.

My experience with Gynation has been extremely disappointing.

I missed two membership payments, not because I was trying to avoid them, but because my credit card was hacked and had to be cancelled. During the same period, I was traveling and had also lost my job, so I genuinely wasn't aware that the payments had failed.

The outstanding membership amount was around AED 350, yet I was asked to pay an additional AED 450 in penalties. I had also informed the gym **two months in advance** that I wanted to cancel my membership, but I am now being asked to pay an extra month's fee, claiming it is a mandatory notice period.

I even offered a solution by requesting that the penalty charges be waived. I was willing to pay the missed membership payments in full and renew my membership for another year. Unfortunately, instead of trying to find a reasonable solution, the customer management representative was rude and dismissive. I was told, *"That's not our problem, it's your problem."* This was very unprofessional and not the level of customer service I expected.

To make matters worse, I was also warned about legal action and told that these charges could affect my credit record, despite my genuine efforts to resolve the matter amicably.

I understand that businesses have policies, but there should also be room for fairness, empathy, and respectful communication. Sadly, my experience with Gynation has been the complete opposite. I hope management takes customer concerns more seriously and improves the way they handle situations like mine.

The best gym I’ve ever been to. The facilities are too notch and the free classes are a cherry on the icing.

While purchasing my membership last month through my mobile, I was surprised to see an AED 199 joining fee and an AED 25 admin fee on the membership summary mail sent to me.
I have no issue paying these fees, but they should be clearly displayed during checkout. Transparent pricing is very important.

We are writing to discontinue and unsubscribe from our memberships starting next month. We were explicitly told during enrollment that a trainer would guide my wife and son. However, after one week, it is clear that proper guidance is only provided if we pay extra for a personal trainer. Because we were misled, we will not be continuing.

Went to a hyrox class in gymnation Al Quoz this weekend. Jess is a great trainer and the class was of one best I have done. Best gym in Dubai! 💪

Great gym, the Hyrox facility in Al Quoz is amazing!

My first day was good, but the gym is a little crowded. Good to know that the gym will expand in the next 3 months.

Great Gym. Very clean and fresh atmosphere. For those (including myself) who think Gyms are smelly, they are not. Onboarding takes 5 minutes, and you are good to go. Best part is, these guys are not pushy at all. One suggestion, though: someone should give a quick walkthrough on the electronic equipment, like the treadmill and cycle.

Class management is very bad. When I book and I go where no availability, and sometimes I book and the trainer doesn’t show up with no excuse or warnings. Also the gym is over crowded and needs to be adjusted with the number of members

I had a horrible experience with this gym. I canceled our membership three months ago, yet they have continued charging my account without my authorization. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, the unauthorized charges have continued. Staff are very rude. They lie and lie. Worst gym

Many machines and equipments are missing or are in short quantity

Chest supported Bent over row missing
Belt squat machine missing
Smith machines are less
Camber bar is missing
Step ups/small benches are missing
Yoga mats are missing
Cable machines are less
Cable attachments such as handles and bars are less
Cloth hangers in mens washroom are way less than the required quantity

The gym is not well organized, and weights are left scattered throughout the facility. Many members do not return the weights after using them. In addition, a large number of members spend long periods sitting on the machines while using their phones instead of exercising, which prevents other members from using the equipment.

Absolute scam subscription policy. You will be charged till you die. I signed up for what was promised to be a 59aed turned into 199aed next month. Left UAE in half a year - and they decided to still contunue charging me, despite me being out of the country and they had proofs of that. Then recently they even decided to hire a debt collection company to threaten me. Jesus. I cant believe Abu Dhabi Police are not investigating this after all the public dissapointment.
