A complete lesson, with audio, understanding questions and a lot of humour, Gymglish quickly became my daily amazing meeting

We often hear people say “it was better before”. Generally speaking, I don't think that's true, but the “Gymglish” language learning method proves the contrary. This method, which relies heavily on computer automation and artificial intelligence (Chatbot), offers an almost unprecedented (to my knowledge at least) methodical as well as user friendly and progressive way of learning languages (in my case, German), with complete autonomy for the student to organize his or her own learning schedule. Firstly, the process: once the student's starting level has been established, the method enables a systematic analysis of the student's progress and difficulties, so that grammar rules and vocabulary are taken up and presented to the student until they are fully assimilated. For languages, it's a bit like what the Singapore method is for mathematics: progressive learning with repetition until knowledge is acquired. On the mix between correct syntax, vocabulary and oral expression: each lesson offers a part reserved for learning grammar, another to enrich the lexicon and a third to familiarize the student with the spoken language by reading playlets and (as an option) dialoguing with a Chatbot. On the attractive if not “addictive” nature of the method: the course is based on a series of stories whose heroes are original (if not downright “baroque”) characters placed in amusing situations, all tinged with humor. This makes you want to follow the characters, and encourages you to come back to them every day. However, there's nothing coercive about the method: students “log in” when they wish and/or have the time, and nothing forces them to do their lesson every day; they just receive a daily reminder and pick up where they left off; on the other hand, the method encourages students in their progress (with kind comments and/or congratulations) and never stigmatizes their mistakes or difficulties. Finally, the subscription price is extremely reasonable, and considerably cheaper than traditional language learning courses or schools. So I can wholeheartedly (and enthusiastically) recommend Gymglish for serious, effective and rather fun learning of a language you don't know at all, or already know a little about, whether for leisure or professional purposes.

Habe nach 2 Wochen Probelektionen Englisch/Deutsch das Abo gebucht und von da an gings bergab. Die Geschichten werden immer schlechter, die gesprochenen Lektionen mit stark ausländischen (frz/span) Akzenten gesprochen, so dass ich kaum verstehen konnte worum es geht. Ich hatte das Level 3,6 und wollte mein Englisch verbessern und mich nicht mit englisch sprechenden Franzosen oder Mexikanern, die ich nicht gut verstehe, rumplagen. Und zunehmend fand ich den Unterricht wie in der Schule. ich hatte keinen Spass und es war anstrengend und langweilig dran zu bleiben. Nach etwa 3 Monaten hab ich aufgegeben und lerne stattdessen mit viel Freude mit einem anderen Programm, das ich parallel begonnen hatte und auf das ich mich immer noch wirklich jeden Tag freue. Die Korrespondenz ist überheblich und geht nicht auf die Abonnenten ein.

Habe die Lektion vom 19.4. nicht abgeschlossen. Am folgenden Samstag bekam ich keine Lektion - den Tag hatte ich ohnehin ausgeschlossen. Am Sonntag, einem reguläreren Bezugstag, erhielt ich ebenfalls keine Lektion. Nach Prüfung stellte ich mein Versäumnis fest, vervollständigte und versandte die Übung noch am selben Tag. Die Sonntagslektion erhielt ich trotzdem nicht.
Mehrere Emails am Montag brachten keine Klärung. Ich wurde auf den Benutzerbereich verwiesen, in dem allerdings nur die letzte Lektion, die ich bearbeitet habe, also vom Freitag, zu finden war.
Es kann nicht sein, dass eine aktuelle Lektion erst dann zur Verfügung gestellt wird, wenn die vorige eingereicht wurde.
Mir als zahlendem Kunden steht frei, ob ich den Text bearbeite oder nicht - die gebuchte Leistung muss zur erbracht werden, unabhängig vom Abruf durch den Kunden - war übrigens nicht das erste Mal.
Die Navigation durch das help Menü oder die sonstige Kontaktaufnahme ist unübersichtlich. Es gibt schließlich auch Probleme außerhalb der FAQ‘s.

Bonjour, J'utilise cette Gymglish pour le plaisir d'améliorer mon anglais. Je suis à l'aise pour voyager étant à présent à la retraite. En revanche je n'ai plus l'occasion de parler fréquemment comme par le passé pour de les communications professionnelles. Par ailleurs, j'écoute la BBC et lis les informations sans difficulté mais je ne suis pas à l'aise avec l'argot et bien des expressions idiomatiques des titres des tabloïdd et du langage populaire de la rue notamment pour comprendre les films sans sous-titrages.
Une amélioration de l'application consisterait, pour les révisions, au principe de cartes à retourner ou tout simplement une liste à 2 colonnes dont on pourrait cacher l'une ou l'autre à découvrir la case qui présente une hésitation de traduction.
Merci aux développeurs pour leurs efforts d'enrichissement en anglais, et aussi en espagnol et autres langues.

Je voudrais ajouter un complément à ma suggestion :
Tous les vocabulaires étudiés devraient être ajoutés dans la liste mots étudiés+ exemples et traduction. Ajouter des colonnes pour les préférences :
✓ audio seulement + traduction ;
✓ lecture seulement éventuellement avec audio si prononciation hésitante de même pour traduction
✓ Possibilité d'un statut : ,"maîtrisé"pour la cacher de la liste soit les exemples soit la fiche complète du mot à étudier.

Cette nouvelle contribution n'a pas vocation à être publiée mais seulement en vue d'offrir de nouvelles possibilités.
En effet l'option audio serait utile pour lancer la liste en boucle en cours d'activité qui ne nécessite pas une concentration : promenade, préparation des repas... Ici il s'agit de répétions pour mémorisation surtout la prononciation.
L'option avec lecture suppose d'être à son bureau ou au salon pour lire afin de maîtriser l'orthographe.
L'option maîtrisé afin de ne pas allonger infiniment la liste avec du vocabulaire maîtrisé.
L'option de liste me semble préférable au concept de cartes à retourner comme l'offre d'autres applications pour pouvoir réviser plus rapidement.
Le concept de liste existe déjà certains sites internet pour les verbes irréguliers : audio ou lecture.
Si les mots sont dans une base de données, un query devrait pouvoir offrir ces possibilités d'utilisation, sans difficulté majeure !
A votre appréciation parce que comme vous le faites remarquer dans vos apprentissages, "un nouveau challenge" et de ma part un signe d'appréciation de votre application.

Interactive and fun way of learning including pinpointing those key areas of great importance for the learners, bite size content which is easy to digest and the ability to adjust the content alongside the progress made. Overall an excellent learning experience.

J'ai testé Wunderbla 1 semaine gratuite. Sympa, amusant. Malheureusement, pas de niveau grand débutant sur la plateforme de l'Allemand. XD

Besides the excellent interactive and entertaining language course also the support is great. A few times I asked questions by email, which were always replied to very quickly and in acommitted way.

Très bien et très intéressant

Like many people below I'm frustrated with the subscription system and threats messages if you don't want to continue using this course.

In the case of subscribing it is mandatory for you to pay THE WHOLE period you're agreeing to. (I'm lucky I took 1-year subscription and not 3 years.) If you don't have any wish to continue to pay, they are sending you emails with lawsuit threats. Could you imagine that?

This is the first time I'm faced with such nonsense. Also, the support crew have no empathy or basic client-oriented behaviour, so there's no sense in contacting them.

Let alone the fact, that the quality and the structure of the course getting worse and worse as you go further.

Do not trust the quality of the entertainment part of the course which looks polished and well-made at first. Instead of the beautiful cartoons in your free-trial period, you're gonna have a dialogue with static messy pictures drawn in Paint (literally!).

I do not recommend this platform whatsoever. It could be good but the attitude towards customers is beyond my comprehension.

Very easy and fun way to learn english, it is written well and extensive explanations of eventual errors that are made. Grammar is explained well and works well, to receive a short lesson everyday, so you don't need to allocate a lot of time at once

While the actual French lessons were very good for the six months or so that I used it, I decided it was not helping me as much as I wanted. That’s when I became aware of being the victim of not reading the fine print. I had signed up for a reduced monthly rate by using a 3 yr plan. I failed to understand that there was NO way to cancel any part of the three years. When I offered to pay the full rate for the 6 months I had used as a way to cancel, I have gotten no reply. It was my error for not realizing the commitment I had made. I have and will have many digital subscriptions but certainly not with this company. I’m not certain I have any legal recourse but I will be seeking out the answer. I was hoping the company would be willing to reach a compromise that would work for both of us but so far it has not. I will certainly follow up this review if they do.

I' ve been practising English and French with Gymglish for some years now and I' m still excited.
For me, there' s no end in sight.
The lessons have never become boring.
The lessons are entertaining, even the grammar section.
By now I' m able to watch DVD' s in English and in French and listen to audio books in their original language as well, thanks to Gymglish.
The new tool, an AI to talk to, is gorgeous !!!!
It' s so easy to improve my speaking skills.
The AI's are very kind, they don't criticize, you can ask them whatever you' d like to know - their knowledge ranges from A to Z, and it' s me who determine the topics I' d like to speak to.
They have pleasant voices. That's very important to me, because I don't want to have the impression I' m talking to a machine.
Learning with the Gymglish AIs is a great experience.

If you thought language classes was boring and difficult in school these courses will change your mind - promise!!! I do the spanish course and I really enjoy the classes ! They often give you a laugh as a plus - and they always make you learn more - almost without hard effort! The classes just can´t bore you - they´re short but effective and the fast and immediate response is gold. No one critisises you - so you don´t - ever -have to feel the least ashamed if you don´t give the right
answer!!!!
I am a language teacher myself ( Swedish as a second language ) and I certainly write this as a positive student and not at all asked to do it !

Tolles System mit ausgezeichneten und verständlichen Grammatikerklärungen. Wenn man eine Sprache bereits etwas beherrscht, sehr gute Möglichkeit sich zu verbessern. Nette Geschichten, motivierend, auf individuelle Bedürfnisse einstellbar. Kann natürlich die Kommunikation mit “realen Menschen” nicht ersetzen.
