I’ve traveled with Great Value Vacations four times so far. They do a wonderful job with hotels, locations to attractions, transfers, and car rentals, when applicable. This time we did a multi country trip and I felt that the
transfers and airline accommodations were not up to par with past trips. Little thought was given to times , lengthy travel days, and transfers. The struggled with linking separate reservations togetjer but did not give an option to have one reservation with two separate rooms. Other than this, I would’ve given a five star rating as I have in the past.

The trip itself (and included accommodations) were very good. Making changes was a bit of an issue (could only do so by using "credits" for the changes), and I am still waiting for a refund for a cancelled tour (by tour operator due to adverse weather conditions). I was told just over 5 weeks ago that a check would be mailed. This seems like an unnecessarily long time to write and mail a check!

Everything was wonderful! Iceland was amazing and the hotel we stayed was in a perfect location. Highly recommend!

This is my forth trip with GVV. In my book, they’re among the best! Great hotel quality and locations, superior service. The reason I did not give 5 stars is because, unlike all previous trips, this time, there was no one at the airport to pick us up and take us to the hotel. Arriving in a foreign country, having someone waiting to take you to your hotel is an important feature you should keep, in my opinion. It makes you feel safe and welcome.

Overall we had a wonderful time in Budapest Vienna, and Prague. Flights vouchers and itinerary were all easily accessible easy to follow and understand. our first hotel in Budapest was perfectly located. We really enjoyed how close it was to all of the public transportation and centrally located. We were able to utilize the tram train subway bus and also walk to our destinations. The hotel itself was lovely and had a wonderful breakfast each morning. The staff was super friendly and helpful too. It had great amenities although the room was slightly small. It was clean and updated when we got to Vienna via train. We found our hotel a bit out of the way from the city center. This hotel was definitely a three star hotel more like a no-frills Holiday Inn. It did not have any amenities in the room. The breakfast was very basic and the location was not great. We did manage to utilize public transportation as much as possible it made it difficult to just go out and wander since we were not in the center of the city. It was like getting a hotel in Queens and trying to navigate to NYC. It’s not impossible, but it’s not convenient. I would have preferred to have a better location of a hotel. It would’ve been cheaper than having to use so many Ubers and bolts along with public transportation to get places we did enjoy the wine country which was closest to our hotel. Finally, we went to Prague and our hotel was in a very cute location next to the monastery on top of the hill, which made it nice because in the morning when you wanted to go to old town, you were walking downhill instead of up all the stairs. We really love this hotel and thought it was adorable although slightly dated it was spacious. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. We love that the monks were next-door to try their beer at the brewery and there’s an adorable jerky bar right in front of it we were able to walk all the main sites in about three hours now I added an extra day so we could spend more time in Prague for my husband‘s birthday. However it did not work out that way, because great value vacations gave us a very late train into Prague from Vienna so we found ourselves waiting around at the train station to catch the train with not much to do beforehand and along for our ride getting us into town around 8 PM. In our opinion, we would have preferred an extra day in Prague since truthfully, we only had one full day. This could’ve been fixed by either giving us a morning train into Prague or giving us a later flight out on the last day instead we arrived as I said around 8 PM went out for dinner around nine woke up early got a full day in and then had to be in bed quite early due to getting to the airport by 5 AM the next day this was unfortunate and I wish we had more say and how they added my extra day and what times we would’ve preferred for the train we did try to change our TrainTime. However, the tickets that were purchased through the company were non-changeable cheap tickets. This is not my first grade values vacation that I’ve taken, and it seems to be the trend when you are going to more than one place with them that the first hotel is excellent. The second hotel is not so nice and the last hotel is usually very nice given the pattern. I suggest that you upgrade from the 3 to 4 star hotels to the 45 star hotels to eliminate some of these less equipped stays and perhaps this will also give you better situation to the city center now for myself, it’s not a big deal because my husband and I are very capable of taking all forms of transportation and getting ourselves around, but depending on your age and your experience with travel, this could be slightly challenging.

Our trip to Ireland was absolutely spectacular.
GVV was extremely thorough with all their planning and support. The hotels were first class and our activities were most enjoyable.
I would definitely use GVV again and would recommend to anyone thinking of an international vacation.

The hotel was excellent, great location close to the harbor, and very unique little spaces for relaxing. Staff was very friendly and accomodating.
The flights were direct which was a bonus for us.
Perhaps the Northern Lights boat tour could have been a day later as we arrived early morning and our tour began at 10 pm making our 1st day a 40 hour day!

Was told that I could change the original person going with me then told I would lose money on flight - which would have been ok if that flight seat was empty but it was not so money lost and still had to sit next to someone- no add on option for rental car to package - hotel is not near anything!!!!!!! I had booked a rental but that was a nightmare- booking details were vague and when I called they helped a little but was extremely anxiety provoking throughout the trip- I have had good experiences with company in the past however, this was not one of them.

This vacation was a great value! The flights, hotels, and rental cars were above my expectations, especially for the price. The stay in the castle hotel was very nice. I will definitely take more vacations with Great Value!

My hotel that was fully paid for in Lisbon was never booked! I arrived with a confirmation and didn't have a room. I had to make expensive, international phone calls and spend almost 4 hours of lost vacation time to get it fixed. In the end, Great Value could not get my correct room type and I had to fumble last minute and pay for my own, separate hotel in another location in the city and wait for reimbursement.

I was reimbursed for my Uber rides and additional hotel cost (almost 500 Euro). But, how many people want to spend that additional can while traveling on s fully booked vacation?

I also didn't love the location of hotels (Porto and Lisbon). They were far outside City center and required a lot of walking.

In addition, my hotel in Porto (HF Tuela) had no working air conditioning. After complaining, the hotel opened the window safety latches and brought me a fan. The room sat at around 85 degrees day and night without the fan. The staff, however, were very friendly and apologetic.

Additionally, because I booked through Great Value Vacations I was locked out of changes for my flights, and wasn't even able to buy a seat next to my travel companion on our flights on United. We also couldn't put in meal requests. So... Traveling together but seated separately on long, international flights. Not ideal.

Our experience was mixed, but ultimately frustrating enough that we wouldn’t book again.
We needed a name correction on one airline ticket and notified Great Value Vacations months in advance. We were told it had to be handled at the airport the day of travel, which immediately created unnecessary stress.
At the airport, things became a mess. The ticket was originally booked through American Airlines, but it had been transferred to British Airways. American sent us to British Airways, where we waited in line only to be told they couldn’t make the change. We were sent back to American, who initially said nothing could be done. After a lot of back-and-forth and pleading, someone finally dug deeper and issued a new ticket about 45 minutes later.
That wasn’t the end of it. The reissued ticket no longer included our prepaid baggage. We had to go back again and, after more pleading, British Airways eventually waived the baggage fee.
Once in Ireland, the rental car provided was far too small for our group—two adults, one child, and two full-size suitcases—forcing us to pay a hefty upgrade fee just to fit our luggage.
On the return flight, all three of us were seated separately, including our 8-year-old. We had to request seat changes at the airport, and even then, only one adult could sit with our child.
Overall, the experience felt disorganized and poorly coordinated. Whether this was an issue with Great Value Vacations or package booking in general, the result was the same: added stress, extra costs, and a lot of wasted time. Unfortunately, we won’t be using this service again.

The trip was acceptable, hotel was basic and did not include breakfast. The tours were well organized but since there was a cancellation I am struggling getting my refund. I have contacted two different agencies and still no response

The itinerary was amazing and we had no issues with flights. The GPS on the rental car was unreliable, which was frustrating and sometimes scary! The hotels were nice and the staff always helpful and friendly.

The locations and hotels, except for one, were great. The trip was a well-rounded tour of Ireland. Overall, everything worked out nicely. I would use Great Value Vacations again.

This company is named appropriately for sure. We felt that value we received was much greater than what we paid. Our package was Exploring the Emerald Isle with Tours (6 days). Pros: great customer service, price, and itinerary. The only con was that the communication could be more detailed. For example, the Ring of Kerry Tour meeting point was 1.5 hours from the hotel.

The ease of trip planning and coordination facilitated by GVV makes taking this vacation enjoyable and fun. This is the second time we buy the trip on Groupon offered by GVV. We have already told numerous friends and family about this experience and value. Many are shocked and surprised about the offer and the ease of taking this vacation. I HIGHLY recommend this route for vacation planning to anyone. I would gladly share my story and experience. The quality of the hotel, the train, the buffet breakfast—— allllll WONDERFUL and way beyond our expectations. While on vacation we told other people and they checked Groupon for vacation planning.

Terrific hotels and very close to public transportation. Airlines and trains we very easy to navigate.Lisbon and Porto were beautiful and the people were so helpful and welcoming.

From start to finish our experience with great value vacations was phenomenal. They were prompt, courteous and helpful. They answered all our questions and gave us suggestions when we ask for them. This is the best experience we have had with any travel company.
