Refuse to give more hours to stores for staff. Literally have to bribe customers with get to yes coupons because they can't be bothered to make sales and digital coupons even make sense or refuse to hold people accountable for reading comprehension on their sales tags. This company needs to close they don't care about customers or employees only fat wallets.

The Wadsworth Giant Eagle has an older male greeter that yells: "Hey, Grandpa!" to my husband when he walks in with our kids. He does this Every. Single. Time. It's rude and insulting. He frequents the store but as of today has decided to grab carts from the parking lot and will go in through the door by Starbucks so he doesn't have to be called out by the annoyingly fake
greeter. Please tell him to stop calling people anything other than ma'am or sir, because he isn't going to want to hear it from me.

I used to buy rotisserie chickens at giant eagle. But now they put them into floppy plastic bags that leak. This one leaked grease all over the floor in my 4 week old car and all over my kitchen counter. I won’t be buying rotisserie chicken ever again unless they start putting them into those tightly closed plastic containers.

My wife and I shop here on a regular basis. Jim and Corey in the butcher shop are the best!! This is one of the main reasons we go there.
After getting my meat and groceries, the checkout lady was very rude and lazy!! I do not tolerate either. The cashiers name is Vickie. I placed 2 gallons of water on the conveyor belt along with other groceries. She told me to remove them from the belt so that she could continue (or something like that) I am 70 years old and hard of hearing. She then looked at me and said something like.... we talked about this and I need you to remove the bottles. Nobody, but Nobody talks to me like I am a child. I proceeded to inform her that I am hard of hearing and I did not hear her. I was very, very, loud in my response to her ignorance.
Seriously!! She couldn't remove the bottles herself? She was probably 20 years younger than me. I did not see any physical issues with her. My guess is that she wanted to show her authority, or is very lazy. Or both.

Well, everyone I wasn't far off! Giant Eagle is now cited for their scales being off calibrated and over charging their customers. This should warrant a full audit of all stores and Giant Eagle brand affiliates.

If I could give Giant Eagle a 0 today I would. I’ve been a customer for at least 15 years, and I’ve held a fuel direct pay account for about 8 years. Unfortunately, fraudsters tried to empty my linked bank account and I had my bank freeze the account. The next day I attempted to link my fuel card to the new bank account. It took GE a couple days to send the test deposit. Once they did, I tried to reinstate the GE card. After an hour on the phone it was finally handled (phew… terrible system. There’s an advantage pay and a full perks and the old system wasn’t quite linked to the new system, so it’s a problem if you need to update your info. Thanks GE for rewarding my loyalty with a nice time-eating smack down). In the meantime, however, I’ve been harassed by bill collections for a gas purchase made 5 days before I froze the account. Yup you got it- they took 5 days to process the charges, but turned me in to collections the very next day! The VERY NEXT DAY! Not only that, but they added a nice $30 surcharge (for my trouble?). I explained the situation and was told I needed proof from my bank on bank letterhead. Ok- no problem. My bank rep was kind enough to whip that out immediately. Shouldn’t you show your loyal customers who have spent thousands supporting your business over years just a small amount of respect for their time by having a system that is easy to navigate? The credit card companies regularly waive a $30 fee for loyal customers who pay bills on time but have a 1-time circumstance. Honestly it took me less time to open all new accounts with my financial institution. Deplorable, GE. Catch up with the times.

I needed help at the bakery, Rollene helped me so much! She is very knowable about the product she sells and very friendly at that! I appreciated her help, knowledge and customer service! I will be asking for her every time! Thank you again!

I've tried 3 times to get my issue with my Advance Pay account fixed with no success. Giant eagle has the worst Customer Service department I've ever dealt with. Even cell phone companies aren't as bad as Giant Eagle. Everything is set up, so their CS department tells me, but I've tried 3 times to use the Adv Pay at the GetGo pump with no success. Giant Eagle CS depart would not help me, they told me it was a GetGo problem. I went to Get Go, they told me I had to go online to get it fixed. That sure was a waste of my time. Terrible company to deal with.

This is now my favorite store since they changed their name to Market Place. Their attempt to become an upscale store is paying off for the customer because they are now offering a wide array of different foods and fresh cuts of meat, and it doesn't hurt that you can still save dollars at the gas pump. They are still more pricer than their competition but, the savings at the pump is a plus.

Very poor customer service. Employees are rude and useless.

I worked at Giant Eagle in Indiana PA for about a year. My first issue with Giant Eagle is the cleanliness. There is still black mold in all of the drink coolers by the registers, and this was discovered in the summer of 2022. When other employees and I brought the issue to the prior store manager, Jim, we were told “it’s being taken care of”, “it’s not a big deal”, and “clean it yourselves. After the company switched to corporate everything got worse. We got new managers that are rude, disrespectful, and unfair. my hours were cut significantly and i was constantly belittled. The new manager Stephanie made up “new rules” that were just ridiculous. For example, I was a cashier and I always kept my personal belongings on me, and under my register because other staff members were having issues with their stuff being stolen. One day I get to work and out of nowhere Stephanie comes up to me and tells me I can’t have my things on me and they need to go in the “computer room”. Keep in mind, as an employee and not a manager I do not even have access to this room, so why would I put my stuff there? I could keep going. It’s ridiculous.

My daughter works at giant eagle and it's the worst place to work at they can't do anything and they went you to come to work sick if you call off the gave you three points if you get 21 points you get fired they don't care about ADA people it's ran like your in jail they hired people and they last maybe a week my daughter trained 4 cashers last week and they are gone already the managers have no idea how the treat people and how to run a store I could go on and on but if you plan to work at giant eagle think twice you have more freedom in the army than there good luck ....

GIANT EAGLE IS A TOTAL AND COMPLETE RIP OFF!! PRICE GOUGING TO THE MOON!!! THE FUEL PERKS ARE HORRIBLE, DONT FALL FOR THAT SCAM!! STORES ARE FILTHY!!! PARKING LOT IS LOADED WITH HUGE POTHOLES SOME OVER 4' AROUND!!!! LAWSUIT HEAVEN!!1

I purchased gift cards and they did not work. Received the activation code but when trying to use them was told no money on them. Now Giant Eagle is giving me every excuse not to refund my money. They continue to tell me different dates when I will hear back from them. I have been trying to get this resolved since May 3rd. Do not purchase gift cards from them. Supervisor Beth was no help at all. Nor were any of the customer service people.

Giant Eagle can be a great place to shop, if you don't mind paying higher prices. However, not all are equal. The one in Garfield Hts, Ohio is absolutely horrible when it comes to produce. I have tried to overlook my experiences many times, but after buying a bag of apples, in which half were spoiled, I'm done. Quality control seems to be nonexistent and while I understand staffing issues, maybe it's time to close if you can't maintain a standard.

Issue is with digital wallet. I have several hundreds of dollars in my E-card wallet and cannot access any of my E-cards. Have not been able to access any of my E-cards for over a week. Called customer service which was unable to address my concerns and had no idea when problem would be resolved. Sent email voicing my concerns with no response. Very dissatisfied with Giant Eagle main office customer service.

Questionable Policies. !!!

According to Giant Eagle, they offer a 2x your money back on Giant Eagle brand products for satisfaction.

The problem is that they don’t offer the guarantee.

If you don’t bring the policy to their attention….they will never give you 2x’s your money back.

They are only getting 3 stars because they have never denied the policy to me but I do have to ask them for it.

I go to the Pleasant Hills Giant Eagle sometimes if I am in the area doing other errands. It’s not bad, except for the deli. Just about every time I go there anymore I have issues.
Every single week I but lunch meat for my kids lunches. They like it chipped very fine, or they won’t eat it. Time and time again, if I wasn’t paying attention, I got home to find it, at Best, thinly sliced. I had to throw it away and go buy more ( at another store).
This weekend, I went again, made my request, and saw as they were slicing it way too thick. I stopped him and said I need it chipped and very fine. I was first told that the slicers do not cut it any thinner- a blatant lie ( the precut meat in the case was thinner!). I called him out and said I buy it every week and the same slicers cut it just fine ( there’s only one person there that ever got it right, but they did it, no problem). When I said this, the young man then told me that “they were told that they were told that they were not allowed to cut it any thinner.” ?????? Why in the world would management care, if that is what the customer wants? It costs the same. I was furious- told them they could keep it, and am not going back. Either they were given that instruction, or they lied. At this point- not dealing with this place or this type of BS ever again. Grocery shopping should not be this stressful.

Digital coupons only STINK! No printer or internet. Hello Shop & Save. Goodbye big bird your history. No everyone lives their life online. Get the food ad on the mailers. Your loosing your customer base,

I don't like the fact that you no longer mail sales papers and the fact that you no longer supply plastic bags I believe it's more of cost and profit issue than saving the environment.
