I have been dealing with trying to set up Google fiber for over 6 weeks in my house. The lack of communication with Google fiber has been frustrating to say the least. They terribly suck, cause internet outages and do not communicate with other Google co-workers to fix any issues. I would NOT recommend Google fiber to anyone that works from home and needs internet or simply would like to watch tv.

Having GFiber in our office is a night and day difference from our previous provider!! Thank you!

My experience with Google Fiber has been one of the most frustrating customer-service experiences I’ve had. I had no internet service, and despite contacting Google Fiber for help, nobody could actually figure out what was wrong or provide a meaningful solution.

The worst part wasn’t even the outage—it was the complete lack of ownership and accountability. I spent my time contacting customer service, explaining the problem repeatedly, and trying to get someone to actually resolve the issue. Instead, I was left with no answers and no confidence that anyone was taking responsibility for getting my service working.

And then, after paying for a service I wasn’t receiving, Google Fiber provided NO REFUND. Not receiving the service you are paying for should be a straightforward issue to address. Instead, I was essentially left to deal with the consequences while Google Fiber kept my money.

For a company that markets itself around providing fast, reliable internet, the experience when something actually goes wrong was anything but reliable. Fast internet means very little when you have no service and the company can’t figure out why—and doesn’t seem particularly concerned about making it right.

This experience completely changed my opinion of Google Fiber. I expected better from Google, and I certainly expected better customer service.

If you’re considering Google Fiber, understand that the real test of a company isn’t how things work when everything is fine—it’s how they treat you when something goes wrong. Based on my experience, that is where Google Fiber failed miserably.

I would not recommend Google Fiber based on this experience.

I live in an apartment complex in Kansas City, MO. The complex is FORCING all apartments to install Google Fiber for “future tenantsl. I don’t have a problem with that,… I have a problem with the installers. I’m 90 days away from ending my SIX year lease. Half my stuff is in boxes. I lost my CAREER, when company shut down overnight!!

I can’t afford my rent! So I’m moving out.

The Google Fiber gaggle of people come in- one of which, call me a “hoarder”, .,, um, did you see all the packed boxes?! Then he (CRAIG of Kansas City, MO), comes back, bumps my table and STEPS on a water bottle, that ends up leaking! He yells, (all-the-while, I’m online doing a class worth $10k)… I come out of the bedroom and said, you couldn’t at least pick it up? He mumbles, “it’s not my problem”.

Google, pick better employees!! They represent YOU!! I don’t need internet that badly!! And I will NEVER purchase Google Fiber because of Craig the installer!!

I called my apartment manager, and said, if they don’t come back TODAY, they will need to come back AFTER I move out!!

Google,… you are GROSS in your hiring process!!!

Very reliable service for the past three years I’ve been with gfiber. Enjoyed speaking with Khale and Carlos and Will at the Green Hills Festival.

Internet kept going out. I purchased a year in advance and then found out the owner wanted to sell the home I was renting. I asked GF for a refund and they asked for a copy of the listing of the home, my new lease showing zip code where service wasnt available and was told upon receipt they’d issue refund. Instead of the refund they just stopped responding. Horrible customer service.

I met Jada at my condominium building association where she was promoting GFiber. It took just few minutes for me to see that this is the service in need. I have been ATT customer for over 30 years but their Air Internet just got so bad and their support to solve the issues was dismal at best.
GFiber speed is as advertised and support I got from Jada and the technician to set it all up was just superb.
Thank you GFiber and am looking forward for years of your services.

My husband and I went through GFiber for our internet in our first apartment and we were not pleased! Our apartment was already set up for it. We only needed a to get a plan and the set us the router. It was a big headache actually trying to get it to finally say we even had an internet connection. After a month of hassle it started working okay the connection wasn’t always reliable and internet would randomly get slow even though we only were using on device! We were constantly told we need to reset our router. The Customer service were nice but rarely were the timely(hours) of directions and attempts to fix a problem able to improve or fix the problem. It was such a waste of a lot of my time and money! I never want to deal with G fiber again!

Installer poked holes through the wall using big screws into the next room.
Waited for 4 months so far and no one called me even though it was escalated multiple times. Moreover they doesn't want me to get it fixed as their crew has to inspect it.

I live in the Kansas City area, on July 7th a service technician came to my home to install G-fiber. He was very professional, I have no qualms with the service provisions that were offered. The issue that I have is he accidentally drilled through the outlet pipe for my laundry's gray water pipe, which subsequently resulted in my basement flooding after doing laundry. I have been unable to use my washing machine for 2 months now, for a family of five including one incontinent elderly parent. I cannot afford the laundromat every other day. I have contacted G-fiber now over six times, I have been "escalated" to two different supervisors, the customer service representatives are doing everything they can to assist me within their power, but Kansas City g fiber management lacks attention to accountability and seems to be giving the runaround. I'm about to cancel my internet, file small claims court, and demand they restore what they messed up. Caution.
Date of incident was July 7th, date of review is now September 8th. Crickets.

I accidentally cut my fiber line at 5:15 PM today - Labor Day. I called the customer service number and reported what I did. Cynthia was my phone representative and she assisted me filling out the form reporting what I did. My phone call completed at 5:55 PM. She advised me that it may take 48 hours for the construction team to work me in. Boy was she wrong. At 9:45 PM a technician showed up at my door. This is Labor Day remember?? He proceeded to make the repairs and at 10:51 PM, my internet was back on. I am 100% certain I would not have gotten service like this from ANY other company. I had to pass this on. AMAZING teamwork by GFiber. Somehow a Thank You does not seem like enough, but it’s all I can say - so Thank You!!

When Google fiber was installed, I was informed that I could receive customer service in setting it up. I was given an information sheet and telephone number to use for this purpose. When calling to obtain assistance in setting this up, I was informed that assistance was not provided for this purpose. Person I spoke with was very dismissive and extremely unhelpful.

Stay away from Google Fiber. I’m about to switch back to Kinetic, if that tells you how bad it is. Internet won’t work from the bedroom to the living room and I live in a one story 1,100 sq foot house. It’s been out all day and all night with no valid reason or explanation. Zero customer service. Google Fiber is an epic fail.

My internet service has been down for the greater part of two days now and it’s impacted my business. I contacted the gfiber call center and got the run around with a person who didn’t know what steps to take and repeatedly asked for the same information throughout the call. At one point he instructed me to get a metal paper clip and insert it into a hole at the bottom of the wall jack that was receiving electrical current! When I refused and asked him to dispatch a tech he said he couldn’t and needed to keep me on the phone working through more ‘trouble shooting’ steps. I asked to speak with his manager and he refused. He kept putting me on hold so I hung up.

I submitted an online request for service but all it does is schedules a phone call. I opted-in to text for help and again a litany of questions of which the answers they should have already gained accessed to from my hour long conversation with the phone tech. This time they wanted my five digit security code 😂 and said they couldn’t dispatch a tech without it. I told them no I can’t provide that since they had enough information to complete the service request already. I am opening up a complaint with the FTC for fraud.

Beware Google Fiber is scamming people with monthly fees and throwing them into dark loops during the service restoration processes. These dark loops are intentionally designed into the process to frustrate the customer, avoid fixing the issue and collecting more fees. It’s fraud. Report it to the FTC. It needs to stop.
