Given 1 star because I can't leave a review without doing so. I received a letter from HMRC informing me that they had issued me a tax refund. They stated the cheque had been sent to Fredrick Edwards Limited (my nominee). I don't have a nominee for my tax affairs. As I have been unable to contact Fredrick Edwards Limited directly, I have informed the HMRC fraud department accordingly. I will have to wait and see whether the HMRC cheque can be cancelled and whether I can get any of the money I am owed. Looking at other reviews on this site, I don't hold out much hope of a successful outcome.

A nominee means you have authorised a Company to handle your tax affairs. This could be linked to a claim you have asked us to handle.
Our Service Team are available to speak to on 0161 505 0000 (option 3) and available on Monday & Tuesday between 9am and 7pm, Wednesday & Thursday between 9am and 6pm and Friday between 9am and 1pm.
Lines can get very busy but we do offer a call queue service where, when you wait, you will be connected to an advisor who can assist you.
I have also sent you a request for your contact details and postcode so we can locate your claim and try to contact you.

I have requested this company LAST YEAR to stop liasing with HMRC when I am more than capable of dealing with any tax claims myself. Comes to something when I have to contact my solicitor and accountant to sort this company out !!

They contacted me out of the blue demanding I pay them for services never provided or they would more forward to legal. They had my email address and said I gave it to them - which I didn't. Feels like a scam.

Your have ignored correspondence from us and two debt collection agencies so we have emailed a letter to you.
You refused to open the letter so we provided you with brief details and asked you to call us if you required any further infomation.

I have bad experience in this company; I never get a tax refund and now I will pay for their service of 210 GBP. last year I filed on the website Fredrick Edward about my tax claim, then we transfer house, I never get the invoice that they said to me, and I never get any tax refund. Now they said to me to pay 210GBP for not response to their email. Is annoying that you will pay their service for nothing. I hope government will stop this kind job. thanks a lot god bless

So I put a review on the 10 of March 2025 saying what a bad experience i had with this company I got a review back from this fredrick Edwards saying they haven't got no claims on file so this morning I got a text message from a company claiming I own £288.00 to fredrick Edwards called lawson hathaway . when I all ready pay this what a scam please people do not trust this company

By far the most immoral company I have ever dealt with. They claim this trust pilot does not exist. just been in court with them, and they got away with saying they are not pushy on the phone yet conveniently they had not submitted any phone calls as evidence to the court.

Reported to financial ombudsman and action fraud and I suggest everyone else should do the same. Absolute scam of a company trying to charge £260 for not sending payslips for a tax refund..there was no tax refund in the first place. Nothing was signed. They have the cheek to threaten with debt collectors and court. Don’t be fooled by these bullies, karma will come in the end. The reviews speak volumes, soon they will be shut down. Bunch of clowns trying to charge for services they don’t even provide. Also, the letter is written very unprofessionally
** they reply and claim you are not on the data base….funny how most people who leave a factual, true review are not clients. Also, they may say it’s a different company, they changed the last word. Both companies are based in Stockport. Trust the reviews and have common sense to never trust the cowboys.

Absolute joke!! Don't use
I saw their add pop up so thought I would give them a go, didn't read the reviews wish I had now!! Disgraceful company. I never signed an agreement and never sent them any documents to proceed. I had just lost my mum and my job at the same time and was at my wits end, then I get an invoice from them for over £200 for something I never physically signed for nor services recieved - why should I pay for something that was never agreed in black and white let alone services not recieved. These people have no humanity and compassion, now I have some other company requesting I pay their bill wanting me to send bank statements - absolutely not I don't know who these people are who randomly emailed me. Fredrick Edwards get your act together you should be ashamed of yourselves

Bullies!
Can you believe these people! I set up a DD to pay them off monthly, even though I feel it was unjustified. I agreed to pay off an invoice to get them off my back as I have so many family issues and FEdwards wouldn't stop harassing me.
They received the first payment last week. Yesterday I received a nasty threatening email saying they were taking action. I called and they blamed Bank Holiday for the error.
Then today, I got an even nastier Final Notice threatening to take action again if I didn't pay.
Incompetent, intimidating, bullying - I've had enough. I am 76 yrs old and they have caused me great anxiety. I am very depressed and I cannot cope with this . How do companies get away with such sharp practise? I gather they target mostly the elderly. I don't know how they can live with themselves.

Absolute scam. There's only one winner and it's not me
This company got me to sign a no win no fee form. Nothing was accomplished. No win or no lose. No completion of my enquiry and I'm being hounded for £210 and threatened with court now. I'dike a business where I could chase people for £210 just for contacting me.

You have admitted you signed a No Win-No Fee contract and the terms of this state you will cooperate when we ask you're to do so. We tried contacting you for several months and you ignored our communication.
Suddenly you sent us an email and asked us to provide a copy of your signed agreement-which we did.
Our email asked you to call us and discuss your case so we could try and resolve the issues and credit the invoice that had been issued.
You ignored our email and then proceeded to ignore our debt recovery agents.
Therefore please speak to Lawton Hathaway to make arrangements to clear the debt owed.

Your comments are factually incorrect.
You are fully aware that you received a refund direct from HMRC, for the claim you asked us to submit in your behalf. You failed to advise us that you'd received a payment so we continued to chase HMRC for 2 years.
HMRC eventually confirmed your claim had settled and when we asked you to provide the amount you received, you didnt provide it.
Therefore, when reminders were issued, we explained this to you and asked you to provide us with the settlement figure so we could correctly invoice you for our fees.
You refused to provide the amount so we invoiced you based on the claim value and you've now paid our fees.
The matter is now closed.
This company is disgusting
This company is disgusting. Threatening me with debt collection companies and court. I have never signed any contract asking for their services. I have given them one star as I couldn't give them less which I would have done. I Spoke to one of my professors at University who is a former barrister and he advised me to let matters go to court and when the matter is decided in my favour to seek costs and damages. My mother died recently after a two year battle with cancer and I do not need these Vampires hounding me

I did a verbal agreement last October…
I did a verbal agreement last October (which apparently is legal) but a written one is more favourable and easier to argue the case through court. I am in the middle of fighting £210 but had the first letter today saying if I don't pay within 7 days I will get charged £65+vat which is a complete disgrace, they also said they will send reforcement to collect what I owe. I remember in the call last October they needed some documents and I couldn't get them so left it. Now I am being chased for something I didn't understand as I had no agreement to look at or sign. Frederick Edwards is a scam and should be avoided at every cost all they care about is money and not at the expense on how the person they are doing this feels at all.
