Poor experience, but they eventually made it right
I’m updating my original 1-star review to 3 stars because FounderPass ultimately resolved the situation fairly.
I purchased FounderPass primarily to access the Attio Startup Program. The eligibility information between FounderPass and Attio turned out to be inconsistent, which resulted in a very long and frustrating process. We spent around two months going back and forth, only for Attio to first confirm that we were eligible and then later reverse that decision.
Initially, FounderPass refused my refund because they believed the Attio discount had been approved. There was then further disagreement about what FounderPass had or had not been told by Attio, which added unnecessarily to the frustration.
However, after reviewing the situation further, FounderPass acknowledged the problem, apologised for the time and stress involved, and issued me a full refund. They also followed up afterwards to make sure I had received it.
Having now seen the complete exchange with Attio, I also think a significant part of the problem originated with Attio rather than FounderPass. FounderPass was relying on a partner to honour an offer that the partner itself had initially confirmed.
I still think FounderPass needs tighter control over the eligibility criteria advertised for partner offers and better coordination when a partner changes its position. If customers are purchasing primarily for a specific deal, the eligibility criteria need to be dependable before payment.
The overall experience was much more difficult than it should have been, so I cannot rate it highly. But they did eventually take responsibility for their side of the issue and refund me in full, which deserves recognition.
