Disappointing in-flight experience and…
Disappointing in-flight experience and no proper follow-up from customer service
I flew with Air North from Toronto to Whitehorse on September 25, 2026, on Flight 824, seated in 11D. I had been looking forward to the flight and was excited to experience the airline as part of my Yukon holiday.
Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The tray table at my seat appeared to be unstable, and when the meal was served, the crew had to place wet napkins or towels underneath the food container to stop it from moving.
Later, I placed an apple drink on the tray table, as any passenger would normally do. The tray was still unstable, and the drink slipped off and spilled all over my pants and the area around my lap. It was uncomfortable and embarrassing, and with approximately two hours left in the flight, I had to remain in wet clothing for the rest of the journey. I was also concerned about what might have happened if the drink had been hot.
A flight attendant provided me with a towel, which I appreciated. However, nobody subsequently checked whether I was okay, and I was not offered a replacement drink.
What disappointed me further was the lack of follow-up after the flight. I emailed Air North to explain the incident, raise my concern about the tray table, and request a partial refund or appropriate compensation. I received a general response indicating that I would hear back within five to six business days. However, that timeframe passed without a substantive response or resolution.
I understand that issues can arise, but I believe passengers should be able to expect properly functioning tray tables and appropriate assistance when an incident occurs. I also believe that when a customer takes the time to raise a concern directly, the airline should follow through on its commitment to respond.
I had genuinely hoped to share positive content about Air North during my Yukon trip. Instead, this experience and the lack of follow-up left me disappointed.
I am sharing this review because I would like the airline to address what happened, inspect the tray table associated with seat 11D, and provide a meaningful response to my complaint. I would still welcome a fair resolution from Air North.
