Good products, once delivered correctly
I'll start with the positives: the furniture, once correctly delivered, is very nice. It's solid, and the design is exactly what we were looking for. If that weren't the case, we would have given up and sent the whole lot back considering the trouble it was to get the right items delivered!
Getting to that point was unfortunately a headache. The first delivery was days later than scheduled and, once they did arrive, one item was damaged and another was completely wrong! That left us having to return two of the three ordered items, on top of the second delivery.
This was a pain, as their customer service was frustrating to say the least! They were quick to apologise and make empty platitudes about how they would resolve it, with no actual actionable evidence unless hounded for it.
Scheduled deliveries were twice cancelled on the day, again with empty apologies. We were unable to work out whether the issue was with F&L or their courier AIT.
Overall, we're happy with the products, but the customer service and delivery logistics fell below expected standard.

I am stepping in directly as co-founder to respond to this, because you are completely right to call us out. While I am thrilled that you love the quality and design of the furniture, the journey to get it into your home was entirely unacceptable.
Receiving damaged and incorrect items is frustrating enough, but having our customer service team offer "empty platitudes" instead of clear, actionable updates is the exact opposite of the service standard we aim for. I am also deeply sorry for the chaos with our courier, AIT, canceling on you twice at the last minute. Ultimately, whether it is a warehouse mix-up, a customer service gap, or a courier failure, the responsibility lies with Fishe & Lilly.
I am sharing your review directly with our logistics and support leads this week to ensure we fix these communication gaps. Thank you for sticking with us through the headache, and I am glad the pieces themselves finally made it to you in perfect condition.

The Wright Oak Bedside Tables arrived in good time and I was impressed by the very sturdy packaging. The only thing I had to do was to screw the legs on, which was very easy. The bedside tables are as described, true to colour and look great.

Unfortunately I wouldn’t shop here again
Unfortunately I wouldn’t order from here again. In both products received they had weird ‘extras’ packed inside - firstly a dead lizard which I know can’t be helped probably, and in the second packaging, some sort of tracking device battery. When it comes to the bedside tables I purchased, one had quite a few chips in the wood and was missing all 4 legs and the other had a chip and came with a wonky leg.
Customer service weren’t particularly helpful and just kept communicating the same thing and seemed like AI or a robot was doing the communication. I still haven’t received the missing legs or the very small 20% refund compensation that was offered. Overall, the experience wasn’t worth my time or money which is a shame as I had had my eye on these bedside tables for a few months and chose to go with these instead of another retailer.

Wright Oak Bedside Tables delivered to Northern Ireland
We ordered 2 Wright Oak Bedside Tables and I'm really pleased with what we received. The units were delivered to Northern Ireland for a small and very reasonable additional cost and were exceptionally well packaged. It took about 20 minutes to screw the legs on and all the tools were sent. The two units are very slightly different oak colours but they're not being seen side by side so I don't mind. They sit beside a La Redoute Quilda Oak bed frame and look really well. The drawers are easy to open and close, they fit books, notebooks, pens, creams etc but are just a bit to shallow for a Cryoglow LED mask so I've stored it in a basket below. All in all, great service from the customer service team, great product and I will happily buy from Fishe and Lilly again.

What you hope for from a small creative business.
I was looking for simple, lovely, effective design, of good quality oak. I was prepared to pay a lot but hoped for a reasonable price. The bedside tables I found at fisheandlilly were exactly what I wanted. Delivery was swift and there's nothing to say about packaging, etc. because there were no problems. Calling our photography deceptive cuts deep, so I want to address this directly. We work exclusively with real timber—solid oak, walnut, and natural wood—not printed veneers or plastic. That means every single piece carries its own unique graining, knots, and natural tones. We shoot our promotional photos in natural light to be as faithful as possible, but real wood will always vary from tree to tree and room to room.
When a piece arrives undamaged and structurally sound, but the natural character or shade of the timber just isn't to your taste, that is a change-of-mind return. Collecting and transporting heavy, solid wood furniture safely back across the UK using specialist couriers costs real money.
We charge a £50 return transport fee so we can keep our retail prices fair for everyone, rather than artificially inflating the price of our furniture to cover return shipping.
That said, we never want a customer feeling stonewalled. If you genuinely believe what you received goes beyond natural timber variation and constitutes an actual defect, drop me an email directly at stephen@fisheandlilly.com with your order number and photos. I’ll review them personally so we can double-check we haven't missed anything on our end.

Quality very disappointing
I bought two Scandinavian Light Walnut Oslo Bedside Tables . Delivery was good as you could specify a day. But the product is poor quality. One leg was broken on one table and the drawer did not close properly on the other. Spoke to various people in customer services - some useless but Stephen was excellent via email and sorted out a refund. The company makes out they are a small family run operation but this is not the case.

Getting solid furniture safely to your door is the baseline, so hearing that the quality missed the mark and that some of our phone comms felt unhelpful is something we take very seriously. I’m glad I was able to step in on email to get your refund sorted quickly for you without further runaround.
Where I do want to gently set the record straight is on our backstory: we really are a small, UK-based family business! My wife and I named the company after what we call each other, and we run things day-to-day out of our own office alongside a very small team. Hearing that it felt impersonal or corporate tells me we dropped the ball on customer care before I stepped in, and that’s on us to fix.

Order placed 17th August for 48 hour delivery, to this day the DPD tracking link says with seller. Multiple contact attempts always result in 'we'll check and get back to you'.
At this point, just admit you don't have it/can't fulfill the order and give me my money back.

Straight up: waiting on a delivery while a tracking link sits frozen is infuriating, and being told "we'll check and get back to you" without a real update just makes it worse. That’s bad form on our part, and I’m sorry.
Looking into order #32266, a couple of things happened here. The order came through on August 27th—just before the long August Bank Holiday weekend. Because of the bank holiday closure, DPD hit a backlog at the depot, which delayed the initial tracking scans. That’s outside our warehouse, but our support team still should have given you clear facts instead of non-committal answers.
The good news: your parcel is officially out of limbo. DPD has updated the tracking (ref: 15502909400218) and your order is scheduled for delivery today.
