Excellent service from Emperor with very prompt delivery via DPD. I had a problem with one of the samples that was delivered incorrectly but it was dealt with the same day.
Too early to give feedback on the paint durability but first impressions are very encouraging.

Applied on top of Stormdry
We applied Stormdry to the outside of our newly plastered garage walls. Following some deep research, we learnt most masonary paints could not be applied on top of Stormdry. Emperor paint was recommended and although it was pricey, we purchased and applied to our garage walls. It was easy to apply and we are delighted with the finish. We would not hesitate in purchasing this paint in the future, some things are just worth paying a little bit extra for and it was easily applied, lovely paint to work with.

Regarding your question, Emperor Sealing Creme is designed to penetrate into porous surfaces such as brickwork and concrete to provide water repellence. Once applied, it can affect the absorbency of the surface, so we would not recommend applying paint over areas treated with Sealing Creme, as the paint may not adhere correctly.

Good waterproofing on wall underground level
Ordered by 1pm and received my order next day, very efficient and quick turnaround.
We used the product to seal a new brick wall built with lime mortar, the wall is 300mm under ground level. The result was good, splashed water to test it 2hr after, water was running not sitting on the surface! I will be using it on another wall that had water penetration in the past! Good product.

Despite my previous misgivings about…
Despite my previous misgivings about the customer service aspect offered by this company, I decided to go ahead with this system on my new render. The cleaner was easy enough to use with a paintbrush on the old sills. I found the primer difficult to apply because it has a very watery consistency. In order to achieve the correct rate of application I found that I had to load the roller and brush well which led to some drips both down the walls and onto the (already covered) windows. I can’t help thinking that some advice relating to an optional second coat of primer would have been helpful. Or some advice for us diyers as to how to understand whether the coat of primer is sufficient.
The paint itself goes on like a dream. I used a decent quality brush and long pile roller and managed to get a good even coat. However, I did not like the colour I had chosen. In comparing to the colour card and sample I had bought, I found that the colour brown sugar turned out morel orangey. A little bit like the peachy colour a child might use when doing a self portrait. Not a great look on a house unless you live in Ballymory or similar. So I’ve got half a tub of the stuff I won’t use and I’ve got to choose a different colour.
I understand that there may be some colour variance but sadly in this case it’s made the colour unusuable for me.

It is designed with a lower viscosity to achieve the correct coverage and penetration, but we appreciate that this can feel unfamiliar, particularly for DIY users. Your suggestion about providing clearer guidance on judging primer coverage, or when a second coat may be beneficial, is a valuable one and something we'll certainly pass on to our technical team for consideration.
We're also sorry to hear that the Brown Sugar colour wasn't what you were expecting. While we do our best to ensure our colour cards and samples accurately represent the finished shade, factors such as surface texture, lighting conditions, and application can influence the final appearance.
We completely understand how disappointing it is when the end result isn't the look you had in mind.

Superb paint
Superb paint. We are painting an exterior pebbledash 1960 house and this has transformed a very ugly building into a much more desirable place. The paint is very easy to work with and covers beautifully. Anyone who has experienced this challenging project will know how tough it is but this paint has certainly eased the pain!
