I did a fair bit of research into exterior paints for the 200-year-old property I live in, and breathable paint was the main thing I was looking for, especially as the wall is south-facing and exposed to the sea.

What really stood out about Emperor paints was that it’s not just breathable — it also repels water, helps with energy efficiency, and the colour range was much better than other companies I looked at.

The property has a few patches of render from repairs, some fine cracks, and I also often get plant growing out of the ledge, which I’m always pulling out and filling the cracks.

I bought the textured paint, which also acts as a primer, along with the textured roller, the dark primer, black paint, and Whisper Pink — well worth the wait. Delivery with DPD was very quick too.

The textured paint went on really well. I mainly used a brush, with the roller for the higher areas. I was really impressed with the coverage, and how well it blended into the walls and helped smooth out the imperfections. I left it the full 24 hours before putting on the first coat of Whisper Pink, then did the second coat the next day. It went on beautifully and was very easy to work with. The dark primer and dark paint were just as good.

I’m really impressed overall. I can’t comment yet on how it’ll hold up in rain, storms, and cold weather, but I followed the instructions carefully and I’m confident it’ll do what it claims.

Employed a painting Company to paint the exterior of our rendered bungalow. They had never used or experienced Emporer masonary paint before and were really impressed with the finish and how easy it was to apply. I researched for the best paint available and chose Emporer primer and masonary paint because of its properties and finish and am not disappointed. I found the experience of ordering really easy but I am surprised that there is no discount for volume its the same price if you purchase one tub or 10 and at £125 per tub that can be considerable.

Great paint a bit pricey but worth the extra money, covers well and looks great.

Love this paint! After searching through what felt like hundreds of tester pots I kept coming back to Emperor - finally ordering a tester and that was it! Not only was it the perfect colour (we went with Mushroom) it is a lovely thick and smooth consistency, goes on well and coverage is great. We used the smooth exterior paint on top of their recommended primer. Yes this costs more than some others but the finish is amazing. Highly recommend.
Also to say, we bought all tools needed from them too and the whole delivery arrived within a few days. Super company!

Mushroom colour really good for garden dwarf walls on its own or over render. Nice consistency. Thick and during heat wave needed to add tiny drops of water to paint. Tried samples first before ordered.

Everything arrived on time!

Love this paint. Brilliant white and although expensive and thick going on at first, it does go a long way as excellent coverage. Don't know yet about its other properties as it has been so dry. Definitely happy so far
