El Monte RV Anmeldelser 

We rented an RV for 20 days, travelling from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Overall, I would rate our experience 3 stars.

The first thing El Monte RV could improve is the customer experience at the Los Angeles pickup location. In our experience, the staff behind the desk could be friendlier and more welcoming. We had to wait while there were no other customers being helped, and it was not always clear why we had to wait or when someone would assist us.
The handover of the RV also felt very rushed. We were shown around the inside and outside quite quickly, almost as if we already had experience driving and using an RV. For us this wasn't a major problem, but I noticed other customers who clearly still had questions and seemed unsure about everything. Especially for first-time RV travellers, I think it would be helpful to take more time to properly explain the vehicle.

Another point is managing expectations. The RVs are not new, and in our case the vehicle clearly showed its age. There is nothing necessarily wrong with renting an older RV, but I think customers could be made more aware of this beforehand and that the age and condition of the vehicle should be reflected in the rental price. Something else we really did not expect was the amount of noise inside the RV while driving. There is a lot of movement and rattling from the interior. Maybe this is normal for this type of American RV, but as first-time RV travellers we had no idea what to expect. This is something that could easily be explained beforehand. Unfortunately, we also experienced several technical and maintenance issues during our trip, including an issue with the awning, which came down while our children were sitting underneath it. Thankfully nobody was hurt, but this was obviously something that should not happen and it did affect our overall experience.

That said, I also want to be fair. When we returned the RV in San Francisco, we had a much better experience. The manager there took the time to listen to what had happened, went through the problems with us and handled the situation in a reasonable and professional way. We really appreciated that after everything we had experienced. Would I completely advise against El Monte RV? No. We still had a great trip through the US and travelling by RV is a fantastic experience. But based on our experience, I do think there is room for improvement when it comes to the service at pickup, taking enough time with customers, being transparent about the age and condition of the vehicles, and overall maintenance.

With improvements in those areas, our 3-star experience could quite easily have been a 4 or 5-star one.

We rented a Family C Class motorhome for two weeks to travel from San Francisco to Los Angeles. The pickup process was quick and handled with care, and the staff were very friendly. Returning the RV was just as smooth. During the trip, one of the door keys broke, but this was resolved perfectly at the Las Vegas location within half an hour. The only downsides I can mention are the exceptionally high costs when El Monte refuels the vehicle themselves, and the security deposit, which is returned quite late.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with El Monte RV!

It was our first RV trip, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The RV was new, incredibly clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. Everything was easy to use, and after just a short time on the road, we felt completely comfortable driving and traveling in it.

A very special thank you to the manager who helped us throughout the entire process. He was absolutely incredible — extremely kind, patient, professional, and genuinely caring. He took the time to explain everything, answered all of our questions, and made the whole experience easy and stress-free. You can really feel when someone truly cares about their customers, and he went above and beyond for us.

Thanks to him and the El Monte RV team, our trip became one of those experiences we will remember for a very long time. We traveled with our kids, woke up in beautiful places, had breakfast surrounded by nature, and fulfilled a little childhood dream of traveling in a home on wheels.

Thank you so much for the amazing service and for making our first RV adventure such a special one. We would absolutely choose El Monte RV again and highly recommend them! ❤️

Just that there were no big problems. I usually expect issues. If there are none, I’m very happy. All smooth pick up, drop off and trip.

Long waiting time to get my RV although no queue.
Generator broke down, had to have it repaired and then stops with only air conditioning on.
Front left panel almost tore off

ein tolles Erlebnis, gute Beratung und einwandfreie Camper. Wir hatten keinerlei Probleme und hatten einen sehr tollen Urlaub mit über 5000 Meilen gefahrenen Kilometern.

Nice RV vehicle, have had a water pump failure, assistance efficient despite it was required to remind them several times.

Picked up in Linden NJ and dropped off in Orlando FL everything went flawless. At the pickup we were surprised as the staff spoke our native language (Swiss German) and explained all the details as it was our first rental. At the drop off the staff was helpful and and noted all the things that broke during our trip. One tip of advise: purchase the "piece of mind" insurance as something will break and with it it's covered, we cracked literally on the last mile our windshield and the insurance covered the damage. Thank you El Monte Team you made our vacation a success.

We had a wonderful experience with El Monte. RV was picked and dropped in Salt Lake City where we received excellent service. RV was recent and fully equipped for a 2 weeks road trip.

Die Übernahme des RV in Los Angeles hat erst ca. 2h später nach dem vereinbarten Termin stattgefunden. Das war sehr ärgerlich. Rückgabe in San Francisco schnell und problemlos. Unterwegs hat alles sehr gut funktioniert.

Bathroom leak, inaccurate gauges, no way to get help, hot water not working, shower drain Not working properly

Es mi primer vez con autocaravana y realmente me encantó, solo tuve inconvenientes con mi reserva por falta de información y/o comunicación perdida un día de mi reserva por que la chica que me atendió me dijo que podía tomar los 1500 dólares de depósito de 2 tarjetas de crédito a mi nombre y cuando llegue hacer check in me dijeron lo contrario, conducí 5 horas desde mi casa y tuve que rentar un hotel ese día mientras solucionaba.
Pero del resto fue una experiencia maravillosa

Very nice RV with all the facilities that you could wish for. Friendly people and fast turnaround when there was some damage to the vehicle. Good explanation beforehand.

Staff was very kind. We had a lot of issues with the electrical system, which impacted the AC and refrigerator. And we couldn't tell if the tanks were full or not.
