Dyson v8 vacuum stopped working after 5 months, and was intermittently turning on and off with very little suction. I purchased this brand new and direct via dyson.com.au.

After sending in for repair I had to contact the company 4 times over 35 days to get any response from them (2 x emails and 2 x phone calls). They went completely MIA and my family had been stuck without a vacuum for over 1 month.

On day 51 of Dyson having my vacuum they wrote to me saying it was my fault the vacuum wasn't working and I had completely abused the vacuum as it had dust in it. Yep, "dust".
This was just used in a normal home of 4.

Dyson has refused to refund me and give any sort of compensation for my time, not even an apology for lack of communication.

Really horrendous product and customer service (if you can even call it that), certainly not worth the price tag

So disappointed! Taking my vacuum back to get a refund. Ten minutes of vacuum time!
Stick with Electrolux or Hoover from now on.

I purchased a Dyson animal ball bag less vacuum and the model is a plug-in variety there were a lot of attachments which were useless and no instructions on what they were or how to use them... threw most of them away... It works fine on the floor boards and tiles but on the carpets which is actually what I purchased it for... it does not pick up the cat hair it does not pick up my hair it does not pick up lint... the brushes on the revolving head are just too soft when I called up Customer Service and asked if there was a stiffer brush head available they told me I would have to buy another vacuum to get that... I ended up putting superglue across the bristles to strengthen them which surprisingly worked however it is still not a great vacuum and every time I use it I curse Dyson thoroughly

Never received my order but they say it’s delivered. Contacted Australia post to be told it required a signature but they didn’t get one! Nothing but rude unhelpful Customer service! Avoid Dyson.

On-line help - "Nochi" could not answer my question after repeated attempts by me to explain, then closed chat after asking if I was still there but she/he did not wait for the answer!
I then rang help line - after 10 minutes of attempts by Dyson helper trying to set up my "profile" (not my idea), and no help, I hung up - after vowing to never ever use Dyson again. This was a simple question that should have been answerable in a minute with a proper support service, as opposed to a call centre.

On Saturday 29th August 2020 I bought the Dyson V7 Cord-Free for $365 from JB Hi-Fi Online Store for when I move into my own unit in March 2021 so I can clean the house easily for when my family and friends come over since there is no cord attached to it. The staff were kind and thoughtful to me and the service was amazing.

Dyson V11 outsize still under warranty. Wheel fell off motor head. Inspection revealed drastically under engineered retaining system. Also excessive free play in stick at connection to bin. After video call to demo faults Dyson agreed to supply Motor head and stick these arrived by post. New bin on back order. Two months later no bin. No advice from Dyson. Further inconvenience. Call Dyson. After speaking to supervisor they agreed to send a complete replacement vac as soon as my broken unit was on its way back via Aus post. Four days after broken vac sent to Dyson in Sydney. No new cleaner on its way. Contacted Dyson . "We have requested the replacement machine to be dispatched as soon as possible."

I am still waiting.

Why promise something they obviously had no intention of honouring?

I just want my vac to be the quality promised in the advertising. If I knew that the very expensive vac was so fragile I would never have purchased it in the first place. I am considering requesting a refund to buy a better quality vac.

Customer service needs work. After spending money for the top of the line product I was disappointed to receive only half the order (the accessories). Poorly packaged - they sent the item as is i.e. put shipping label on the box. Post then wrote on box, squashed it, damaged it so it was a mess when it arrived. Dyson’s pathetic response was that it is the mail service that is the issue - not their problem for sending it without boxing it or covering it. As it is a present this is ridiculous. Customer service? They have my money… why would they care? Maybe the rest of if will turn up sometime too.

I would like to give minus stars for Dyson's pathetic service. It is beyond belief how you have treated us.

Customer service have no authority or training to assist.
You use Star Track and you think that once you despatch it's not your problem anymore.

You deserve to fail in this market.

4 weeks to ship expensive vacuum parts from the East Coast to Perth (and still not received). If they had used express post, there wouldn’t be an issue in getting to me.

Bought The Dyson hair wrap over the Black Friday period and couldn't be happier. I had a 10 year old hair dryer and my life has changed with this product. We also have the v6 vacuum cleaner from this brand which my Husband loves to use!

I’ve just got off the phone from Danny at Dyson a very happy customer. I’d made a mistake with my order and Danny had it sorted within minutes and was so helpful and friendly. He went beyond what was expected. I wish all companies provided customer service like this! Thank you Danny & Dyson.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Dyson Australia staff don't seem to communicate with each other and do not follow up your requests. Long story short, Dyson Australia and Auspost are a nightmare to deal with. My advice is if you want a Dyson product, buy it from a local shop.

Dyson customer service & after sales service is second to none! I called the 1800 help line & spoke to a lovely girl, Ally. She was so helpful trying to diagnose the problem & even though my warranty had expired two months earlier, they still replaced the head free of charge. Amazing service, thank you!

Received outstanding after sales service from Dyson via their 1800 call centre. They went above and beyond even though my warranty was a couple of months out of date. Top shelf customer service.

I have returned my Dyson hairdryer three times for repair. I recently returned my hairdryer and did not hear from Dyson for Six weeks. I had to ring up to get any information. After not hearing anything I was told that a charge of over a hundred dollars was required for my hairdryer to be repaired. This is supposed to be a quality product that I paid 700 dollars for. I will never purchase a Dyson product again and customer service is really bad!

I have a V6 pro, the head stopped working after 2 years, new head was supplied, now stopped also after 2 years. Now no warranty. Light domestic use, not our main vac. This is a vac destined for landfill after a short period, does not last as long as it should. Far too expensive for a throwaway item. Purchase another brand.

For this company customer service is an oxymoron! Just wanted to know if WA service had a replacement battery. No way of contacting them directly of course. Rang “service” number but gave up after 25 minute wait. Rang again 5 hours later and after another 30 minute wait got through and was told system was down so best if I went the 40 km to Centre. Requested repeatedly for direct number but was told -quote- WA branch was not contactable by phone. Perhaps they use carrier pigeons. Could she ring me back.? No, that was not possible either.
Chat line option not working either and no email option.
