Adam was very friendly and efficient. He did his job very well and explained it step by step. He also advised a long test run then check error codes before using the vehicle again. All in all, a very good experience and reasonably priced for an “at home” service.

Really great service, everything explained and took care of my vehicle every step of the way, will use again for sure, thank you.

I am only leaving a one star review as I can't leave "0" stars. ( I'm not the first reviewer to state this regarding this company).
Please read all 1 and 2 star reviews,these are major "red flags". My first mistake was not to read these reviews until after I had engaged this company. When the same issues come up again and again this should be a warning! As it turned out my issues were the same as all the other highly negative reviews.
I use my Renault Trafic van to deliver and collect furniture. I am a self employed furniture restorer and vintage dealer.My van is very important to my business.If it's off the road I am losing money.
When the "Check injection system" warning light came on I immediately went to my trusted mechanic of 20 years. He plugged it in to diagnostics and advised there was an issue with the upstream sensor/pipe (no charge!). He couldn't help as he was booked up for two weeks. He recommended a nearby garage and I spoke to them,more diagnostics and he confirmed the upstream sensor/pipe issue and dpf issues. He couldn't address these issues for another week so I had to book the van in and wait.In the meantime I cancelled and rearranged some deliveries.
Later that same day I did a lot of research re the dpf problems and associated systems in the Renault Trafic. It revealed that this was a common problem in these vans as well as other commercial vans.
Being desperate to get my van back on the road asap I decided to engage the services of " DPF Specialist". (self proclaimed "The UK's Leading" and part of the "Auto Assist Group"). I assumed it must be quicker and more reliable to get a specialist in this area dealing with this specific problem.I opted for the Complete Clean Package at £499. "Best for: Long-term ownership,higher mileages driven,and maximum confidence"
They attended on Sat 4th April 2026, two days after booking.
Very long story short. Diagnostics carried out, Issues with glow plugs and pressure upstream sensor. DPF cleaned and reading reduced from 7 Mbar to 4 mbar.
BUT... The fault codes remained and couldn't be cleared, a forced regeneration of the DPF couldn't be undertaken and I was advised to NOT DRIVE THE VAN until the remedial work was carried out. The technician couldn't do anything on the day to fix anything. Oh, and that will be another £320 please Sir.
So I was £499 out of pocket and no further forward. I had at that point basically paid £499 to have a diagnostic plugged in and a DPF clean that made absolutely no difference to my situation.
I made a complaint by email but got nowhere until eventually the complaint was escalated to a senior manager. However no further insight and basically was told they did what I asked for ie DPF clean and diagnostics and the 12 month warranty was still in force as long as I had the remedial work carried out.
My argument is that I was paying for a diagnostic and a comprehensive assessment of the problem with advice on how to proceed. In the company website it states in the "Common Questions" section.

"Will a DPF clean definitely fix my problem?"

"In most cases,yes. We run a full diagnostics before and after the clean to confirm results. If there's another underlying fault-such as sensor issues or EGR problems- WE'LL ADVISE YOU HONESTLY AND WONT CHARGE FOR A CLEAN THAT WON'T SOLVE THE ISSUE" (My capitals).
The clean did not solve my issue. The faults remained,no regeneration could be done and I was told not to drive my van.The technician would have known that this would have been the case before carrying out the clean (He is the Expert!). So not a lot of "honesty" there. I believed that I should have been advised on the day that the underlying issues would make the clean totally ineffectual and a waste of money. Advice should then be given to address these issues either through DPF Specialist or a third part and then get the DPF Clean carried out when the work was complete.
I spoke to both mechanics mentioned above and they basically told me I'd wasted £499.
The work is still being carried out on my van as originally booked in.I have had to hire a van to fulfill deliveries while it is off the road. However I could have hired a van for seven days and still incurred less costs than the £499 I wasted with "DPF Specialists".
I didn't receive the items advertised in the "Premium Care Pack (RRP £99). By this time I had lost all confidence in the company and told them not to bother sending them and received a refund of £99.

MY ADVICE. If you have an efficient,competent and trustworthy mechanic. That is where you should take your van. "DPF Specialist" and "Auto Assist Group" are very quick to attend and very quick to take your money BUT in my experience the service and solutions they provide are "0 STARS)
My recommendation DON'T USE "DPF SPECIALISTS or AUTO-ASSIST GROUP.

I don’t usually leave reviews—good or bad; in fact, I generally avoid them. If you check my history, I tend to only comment when a company is exceptional. Unfortunately, this experience has pushed me to speak up.

I paid around £500 to DBF Specialist for a DPF cleaning service and an oil change, expecting a clear and professional solution. What wasn’t made clear at the time of booking is that they do not address or resolve any underlying faults that may be causing the DPF issue in the first place.

Only after the service was completed—and the problem remained—I received an email stating that the warranty I had paid for would be invalid unless the “underlying issue” was fixed within 5 days. This was never clearly explained beforehand.

To make matters worse, another communication then directed me to Auto Assist (part of the same group) to fix the underlying issue—effectively pushing me into additional costs after the initial £500 had already been spent.

I still have the original issue, despite paying a significant amount, and feel this process is misleading. If the success of the service depends on fixing other faults first, that should be clearly stated upfront—not after the fact with conditions attached to a warranty. It should also be something the customer explicitly agrees to (for example, via a confirmation checkbox after a clear explanation).

This has been a very frustrating experience and, honestly, one of the worst decisions I’ve made when choosing a service provider.

I would strongly advise others to fully understand what is—and importantly isn’t—included before committing.

I am currently trying to resolve these concerns and reach a fair outcome.

Further updates will be provided once a resolution has been reached.

Had engine management lights on and dpf filter light on had a man called Rob who came out to see me the next day and managed to clean filter and remove light that I had taken my car to previous garage and couldn’t even remove engine management lights off due to codes that main dealership had put on but Rob sorted it out for me and was honest about the situation top man I would definitely recommend this company

The fault came back after 1 hour
They offered to clean the DPF of the car but charged me £200 for removal and refitting the DPF .They also said I could send them the DPF.When they came to clean it
nothing came out apart from bubbles.
A very detailed reply pointing out the service i picked has no warrenty.
It lasted a hour .This is a company that does lots of advertising on you tube but does not work
Collect £299 and go .
Avoid at all cost and save your money

This company has terrible customer service. I contacted them because I was getting an intermittent DPF warning light. DPF Specialists claimed they would come out, carry out a diagnosis, and advise on the fix. They did come out, performed a diagnosis, and immediately insisted the pressure sensor needed replacing—even though it had already been replaced just a few days earlier and wasn’t causing any issues. The engineer pushed hard for this replacement and said that a DPF clean would resolve the problem.

Five days later, the DPF warning light came back, and the car behaved exactly the same as before. I’m now almost £500 out of pocket and in the exact same position as before calling DPF Specialists—who, by the way, also operate under the name Auto Assist Group.

When I contacted them again to report the ongoing issue, they showed no interest whatsoever and simply sent me a claims form. After I completed and returned it, they then tried to sell me a diagnostic scanner so I could provide them with a fault code. Yes, I was shocked too. They then claimed they couldn’t proceed with the warranty without this information.

Considering they charge £179 for diagnostics, why wasn’t this offered in the first place? It’s clear they are more focused on taking money than helping customers. The engineer advised me to replace the sensor and have the DPF cleaned to resolve the issue, and I followed that advice. Now DPF Specialists/Auto Assist Group are refusing to take responsibility.

Avoid this company and use real professionals—these people are clearly not. You have been warned.

Alex was again super! Very friendly and nothing was too much trouble!! Highly recommend, fantastic service. Customer service was very easy to call and quick to respond to queries. Kept us updated throughout the process, I think it was Kam that we spoke to.

I have a red warning light come on in a Range Rover sport which was effecting power and put the vehicle into a limp mode like state. I spoke with Jodie who was just fantastic and helpful and immediately sorted a booking for the next day. Fast forward to pre arranged 8am appointment the next day and Alex arrived, who was great. Very knowledgable and sorted everything in a couple of hours. Could not ask for anything better from this company. They have a repeat customer forever in me and could not recommend them more.

Was kept well informed and communicated through the process of the DPF Clean and diagnostic findings. Further work carried out from the diagnostic outcome, was quoted and booked in at a convenient time and carried out by a competent Engineer who was polite friendly and talked me through the complete process. Would like to make a shout out to Jodie who kept me informed at all stages including quote and booking the follow up appointment. And a shout out to Lewis the Engineer who was polite knowledgeable and a professional.

You came out to clean DPF on my van within two weeks, but I am still experiencing the same issue now; the lights are still showing on my dashboard. My van did not need cleaning; it's my injectors that need changing. This company is a rip-off. I will avoid this company next time, just took my £580 for a job that is not done, or I should have been advised by your machine, which he did not, he was on the phone to his girl all that time while carrying out the job.

The young man came to the door promptly on time done an excellent job always advising each stage full of knowledge and experience also state how long it would takes take advised about the test issues and I could not ask for a better person on the job super polite but full of quality advice kind regards b cornforth

Having taken my Hyundai Tucson to the Main Dealer several times and with no success, it is refreshing that DPF Specialist Technician used his experience and knowledge to fix the issue and not just looking at the warning light displayed on the car dashboard, as this warning light was only part of the issue
