Where to begin... and never agan!
Where to begin? We arrived and had to pay for parking even though a resident at the hotel and not doing park and fly. I believe we had a Junior Suite - Room 201 at the Congresbury, Bristol hotel. Reception advised that is was a very nice room indeed. Obviously they have not had much experience of hotel stays. On entering the room, we could see that the room was extremely over priced, and it was located right next to the fire door, which proceeded to bang all night! The room was very small and the wc was that small you could hardly turn around in it. The "suite" had the strangest lay out ever encountered. The bathroom was open to the bedroom, no door, no full wall? We had the delight of a half glass screen between the bedroom and the shower, so that we could watch each other washing from the bed, table and chair or desk, there was no escaping unless you turned your back and looked out of the window or sat in the wc! Condensation from bathing went straight into the bedroom? Condensation anyone?? Oh and the shelf for soaps etc was hanging off the wall - housekeeping?? Never before have we paid so much for so little, so badly designed, and overlooking the smoking hut and external decking to the bar, so in the summer it would be a delight of noise and smells! My husband did complain and to my knowledge never received a substantive reply/refund, anything to recognise quite how disappointing we had found the whole experience/stay and that the room was on a par with Premier Inn but at triple+ the price. There was so much wrong, we would never return and have subsequently cancelled a booking for the same chain in Kent in March. Oh and if you have a designated smoking area, reception ought to tell staff/guests smoking directly outside of the hotel reception area to "move". Some guests do not want to walk through the fog of cigarette smoke and end up stinking!
very disappointing stay
very disappointing stay, very long walk up and down stairs and a long corridor to room. Room phone did not work. told no one around to repair. Television sound distorted. told none available to repair. Went to pool toilets overflowing with excrement. told no one available to clean them. Party being held in room above late at night. Told no sure which room that is above you. Been in Hilton group hotels UK USA and Europe never go to Cheltenham Hilton EVER again
Appalling dinner service
Stayed 3 nights between Xmas and New Year at the Hilton Doubletree Oxford Belfry Hotel as part of a bridge group of over 50 guests. Dinner service on the first 2 evenings was painfully slow, around 1 hour and 45 minutes for 3 courses, despite all courses having been pre-ordered. Up to 3 dishes at a time were served by hand by 3 members of staff. No sign of trays or trolleys to speed up delivery. Some guests finished their course before others on the same table received theirs. Clearly insufficient kitchen and/or serving staff and failure of management to recognise and address the problems.

Tried the breakfast at La Serre to celebrate my husband's birthday. The cost was 150 per person, and I was genuinely taken aback by the subpar quality of service and food. The overall experience was disappointingly mediocre; none of the offerings justified the high price point. The presentation, taste, and variety of dishes were as basic as those found in restaurants charging QR 50 or less. The fruit selection was particularly underwhelming, lacking any noteworthy options.
Waffles were accompanied only by chocolate, with no alternative options like honey or maple syrup for those who don't prefer chocolate. I found the service and food quality to be below par when compared to the steep price. Adding to the disappointment, when I requested a cake to celebrate my husband's birthday, the staff declined and suggested that I purchase one separately.
In summary, the experience at La Serre fell far short of its price tag and was, in my opinion, absolutely not worth it.
One of the worst Christmas Party food yet!
We had our work Christmas party at the Hilton DoubleTree. Really wished we hadn’t. The food was so sub-standard! It seems that they were increase the profit margin as much as possible and trying to make it as convenient for themselves. For the starter, 3 Felafels (small and very dry), for the main, I was given polenta with some Puy Lentils, which was incredibly bland and seasoned with some salt. Thats it! I would be embarrassed serving both as a starter or sides, let alone a main. The dessert was also dry (tart) and having asked 3 waiters, they managed to bring some, oh, and water to wash it down with. The Hilton shouted luxury, it now shouts rip-off. Shocking!!

Wokingham St Anne’s Manor hotel : Wow - so bad they don’t deserve to be in business ….. sent two emails to try and book New Year’s Eve dinner / dance and stay the night ….. no reply to either …. Rang and spoke to a polite man on reception (Vincent) who tried to contact whoever looks after bookings for the event …. Nowhere to be found …took my details and promised a call back …. And you guessed it …. No one bothered to ring me back. I guess if this is the level of service and customer experience they deliver … then we “dodged a bullet”as the evening would have been poor too …. Certainly will never attempt to stay at this hotel chain ever again

Been staying at the Doubletree Hilton Swindon since Oct - spending up to £1k a week.
Due to circumstances outside of my control I was a day late to my stay, when I called to explain there was no answer to my call. When I arrived the front desk supervisor was quite abrasive, she explained the whole stay had been cancelled not just the first night, she offered to rebook the remaining days but they had since booked the room I was due to be in, so I’d have to take a lower grade room. When I got to the room the website showed many rooms available if the same grade as I had originally booked.
I’m sure it’s policy but I would have thought guests would be treated a bit better - especially given I’d already paid for the stay and spent the best part of £10k with the hotel.
To add insult to injury the dinner I then ordered came with an ingredient I had said I was allergic to when I ordered…

Disappointing overnight stay
We stayed at the Bath DoubleTree Hilton for one night.
1. 4pm check in - this is very late!
2. Unhygienic Toilet facilities in the Reception area
3. Rude and abrasive receptionist
4. Unattentive staff at the bar area
4. Overpriced parking which the Receptionist dismissed as 'This is Bath, get over it'

Doubletree Woking ignored my cancellation/amendment request and charged me the full amount of £152 even though I never stayed in the room.

Took a double payment by mistake plus double room deposit which after 5 working days hasn’t been refunded ( was promised the next working day)
Spent hours on the phone being told different things for the payment to not even have been processed.
Absolute joke.
£92 room has ended up costing me £284 so far and still no sign of a refund.
Doubletree London was fantastic

Unexpextes double payment
The room I stayed in was a really nice room and worth the money. My 2☆ review is because on arrival they expect you to pay a room deposit, which isn't stated anywhere when booking. Also, if you put services on your room, the payment is taken as a deposit straight from your bank and then you are charged again on your check out day. This needs to change as not everybody has money to be paying for things twice.

Following a recent family holiday to The Gates Hotel, South Beach Miami. I just wanted to thank one of the Reception Management, she was so very helpful, kind and accommodating to our needs, going above and beyond our exceptions thanks to Eloisa our stay was excellent.
Doubletree York: The place to stay
We stayed at Hilton Doubletree York as it was a treat from our son for our wedding anniversary: The hotel is on the edge of the city centre on the inner ring road , and is ideally placed for getting to/from routes in and out of the city by car. It is also only a 20 minute walk from York rail station.
Our room was clean, well ordered, spacious , and we had a lovely stay. I thanked the Front of House manager for the handwritten card and gourmet cake slices left in our room which was a lovely gesture. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet , and check out process was unproblematic. Well done to all, will stay again.

Doubletree by Hilton Newbury - DON'T DO IT!
Doubletree by Hilton Newbury - are they joking? The branding doesn't meet what you'd expect from this chain. Dirty, unkempt, disinterested staff, and to add insult to injury you have to pay £8 for parking when it's in the middle of nowhere! But get this.... YOU STILL RECEIVE A PARKING PENALTY CHARGE FOR £100!
So if you have a penchant for filth, rude staff who don't take responsibility, high parking charges followed by parking fines, by all means go for it.
I will not be using any DoubleTree by Hilton again. Never thought I'd say that Premier Inn is better!
