The sonar was easy to use and of great quality, but i could not tell the difference between silt or gravel and that's a me problem i think

Nous nous excusons pour le désagrément lié au GPS. Dans ce cas précis, nous vous recommandons d'effectuer un étalonnage du pilote automatique.

Pour étalonner le pilote automatique du Deeper Quest, veuillez suivre les étapes suivantes :

1. Placez le Deeper Quest sur un terrain plat à l'extérieur, dégagé de tout obstacle (arbres, lignes électriques, etc.).

2. Allumez le Deeper Quest et sa télécommande.

3. Connectez-vous au Deeper Quest via le Wi-Fi de votre téléphone, puis via l'application FishDeeper.

4. Ouvrez le panneau de contrôle du pilote automatique (où vous donnez les instructions au Deeper Quest pour ses missions). Appuyez ensuite sur les trois points situés en haut à droite de l'écran et lancez l'étalonnage du magnétomètre.

5. Suivez les instructions affichées par l'application.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM DEEPER.

EDIT: Deeper claims "Regarding your concern about the device condition after return: the unit is not modified during diagnostics in a way that would cause additional damage. When internal mechanical damage is already present, performance can deteriorate further over time, especially after transport."

However they sent me a picture of when they tore it apart and destroyed it. The claimed it was "micro fractures" that could not be seen or otherwise identified. (So basically, they don't want to warranty the device and have no proof of damage).

DEEPER SENT A PICTURE when they tore it apart. Notice the places with bad solder joints and where they store the power off of the circuit board. Unfortunately, we can't post pictures or links to pictures in reviews to dispute their shady practices.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM DEEPER.
I got a Deeper Max for my birthday in February. I fish a lot of shallow fresh water lakes, ponds and harbors. Most only @ 8 feet deep.
I had problems from day 1 with the 20° beam not registering the proper depth. It may show 60 feet in areas less than 8 feet deep.
I had to switch to the 7° beam to get proper depth, then switch back to the 20° beam.
I bought this because it's advertised as being better and having 4x the resolution for shallow fishing.

I reached out for support and after nearly a week they said that you need to use the 7° beam for shallow waters.

A 7° beam is less than 12 inches wide in 8 feet of water. So if you want to map out a shallow body of water, you basically have to do it in 10" swaths to get an accurate reading.

I had my Deeper Max for less than a month before it lost all ability to measure depth and started showing depths of 90-150 feet in 8 feet of water

Again, contacted Deeper for support. You can only contact them through email. They typically take 4 days to reply.

They had me send my Deeper Max back to them and they said that because there were scratches on the case, it was misused and that they weren't going to warranty the device.

So now, not only have I spent more days trying to get support, (and not getting any), than I actually had the device in my possession, but now I have no device.
They offered a 25% discount on a new device.
That's the same price I paid buying it from their website.
It's also the same price Walmart and Amazon sells them for every day. So no discount at all.

I do not recommend this device or this company. I spent nearly $400 on a device and accessories, and I had a faulty device for a month, and now I have a paperweight.
They returned my device to me and not only did I have to pay an IMPORT TAX of $21, but I found that they did more damage to the device where it won't even power on now.

Hi Jason,

We understand that you strongly disagree with the outcome of the inspection, and we genuinely regret how frustrating this situation has been for you.

We would like to clarify that our warranty decision was not based on cosmetic scratches or visual appearance alone. The device underwent a full technical diagnostic, including electrical testing performed by our engineers. The photos shared with you during the process were intended only to illustrate the visible condition of the unit after disassembly.

To perform diagnostics, the sonar must be opened so internal electronic components can be inspected and tested. This is a standard procedure for all warranty evaluations. After inspection, the device was reassembled back into its original state before being returned.

The issue originally reported with the 20° beam in shallow soft-bottom water is a known sonar limitation in certain conditions. However, once the sonar started displaying incorrect depth across all beams, we agreed this indicated a more serious issue and arranged warranty inspection immediately.

Following diagnostics, internal damage consistent with strong mechanical impact was identified. Unfortunately, damage of this type is not repairable in a way that would allow us to guarantee long-term reliability of the device, which is why warranty replacement could not be approved.

We understand this is not the resolution you hoped for, but we do stand by the conclusions of our technical team.

I really liked the sonar that I've used…

I really liked the sonar that I've used earlier and I hope the new one will be even much better. A bit of confusing regarding to the battery may it be possible to replace it in some time? I hope cause I want to use the sonar for a long time!

Wszystko zgodnie z informacjami uzyskanymi przy zakupie. Sonda Chirp+4 zakupiona w przedsprzedaży miała zostać wysłana na początku kwietnia i tak tez się stało. Byłem na bieżąco informowany o moim zamówieniu. Pełen profesjonalizm.

I have other sonars that cost thousands more and virtually do the same as the deeper #4. Deeper 4 is neat that you can put it in your pocket and use it whenever its needed without the fuss of cables mounting brackets.
