Very disappointing. Massive list of snags, poor communication, poor workmanship, poor site management, poor construction, cheap materials and certainly not 5 stars. Oh and forget about the NHBC, they are on the side of the builder.

So we are into our 2nd Christmas and we still have snagging to be resolved. So many experts contradicting each other about all manner of problems, most very important. Davidsons do not want to listen to anyone that may indicate that they may have to pay for something.

We have both said that its a lovely design but the poor finish destroys this. The NHBC even demanded that they put things right but they choose to drag things out costing me time and money.

Apparently it is better for them to come and sort it after the property is sold and not to critisise the workmen as they are few and far between.

You wouldnt accept this from any other retailer would you.

Before purchasing, take a good look at the finished products, ask some home owners their thoughts and dont get wrapped up in the BS the sales persons tell you. Remember, once you have purchased; the sales person doesnt want to know you.

I bought my house at Diamond Heights Irthlingborough and the gardens were done without land drains so the gardens flooded, driveways put in and then had to be redone and the response was 'your car is too heavy' and the park has STILL not been finished and we moved in nearly 3 years ago!! Do not buy a house from Davidsons!!!

Doesn’t even deserve a 1 star! Brought a house in October 2020…. On the day we moved in there was a massive leak which had to be repaired ( bodge job repair was carried out ) 1 year later after a few issues with the boiler here and there, we contacted Davidson for them to a look at the boiler as the pressure keep going every other day! Cowboys Norris plumbers ( who work for Davidson) turned up and said there probably will be a leak somewhere but we can’t do anything until the leak is visible…. More issues continued but with no leak until another year later ( December 2022) the leak finally appeared. We contacted Davidsons and they said our warranty had ran out and they had no record of us reporting the issue to them! We’ve had to pay hundreds in getting the issue fixed! They had used plastic cheap pipes and fittings! And cemented round pipes! Disgusting company! DO NOT EVER BUY A NEW BUILD FROM THEM!!!

The lack of consideration for existing residents in a build location from this company beggars belief. @James Burnham shame on you - no way you would have this on your own doorstep.

They are not premium!!!!! Far from it beware

Another useless company! Davidsons homes…. Apart from nightmares around the house build, missing parts, bricks not fully erected, dangerous nails sticking out in the house and outside on the gates, dents , cracks, dirty at handover, they pressure you for a review on the same day you move in so they get 5* reviews!

There so called “family values” are rubbish, this might be because I’m Indian I get treated like rubbish or just generally how they treat people who buy there houses, who knows, far as I’m concerned they cut corners and are no where near premium! They own staff say it as well!! Shocking!

Please stay away!

David the site manager said he would sort out the damaged kitchen doors ( expensive) said there were issues with supply 3.5 to 4 months on I emailed Davidsons asking and got this reply. Didn’t know what to do laughing is all I had!!

Whilst we fully appreciate your version and comments, we have no record of this issue being raised at Courtesy Visit stage and we have no jobs raised on our system. This prevents us being able to review this matter further.

We can assure you that Davidson's have a robust reporting system in place whereby we request all homeowners to raise queries via the instructed channels to avoid confusion and conflict over issues. In line with Davidson’s warranty procedures, and included within our literature, it outlines that all issues are to be reported to Post Occupation, via telephone and email during the first six months. Based on this, unless you can provide evidence of such correspondence, our stance must remain the same.

We have been in our Davidson's home for over a year now and absolutely love it! From reserving to completing Michelle gave us the best service. We got response to emails, messages and phone calls. We had updates on the progress of our house all the time. We even had pictures which was amazing. We were meant to complete end of May but were told we could complete in April. This was a bonus!

When we moved in, the house was clean and very good standard of finish. We had a few snags but the aftercare team are amazing too. They have fixed everything we reported. We haven't had a professional snagger so wasn't alot. We hope it will be the same if we decide to get one.
In general, we are very happy with our home and service we received. Would definitely buy a Davidson's home again.

We chose our house off plan and have been extremely pleased with house outlook and high quality design.Any problems or queries we’re dealt with very quickly from Michelle and the maintenance team.The after sales is 1st class and always ready to help.

First time buyers.

Like most people buying a new build and in our case our first house, we were unsure what to expect. We are so pleased with our new home, from the lovely welcome from everyone we met during the whole process, the great quality of the build and a fantastic after care program that helped correct anything outstanding.

Myself and my Husband have bought two new builds in New Lubbesthorpe, Leicester. Our first was a 4 bed detached. Throughout the process the Davidsons Team were extremely helpful and thorough. We can’t fault anything. Our 2nd was a downsize to a 2 bed semi. Michelle showed us around a shell on a rainy Bank Holiday Friday and we fell in love with it. Our experience was exactly the same and no different considering the two houses were very different in price. We chose Davidsons for their build quality and helpfulness and would recommend highly.

We purchased our home with Davidsons at New Lubbesthorpe and absolutely love it. Michelle the Sales Manager was on the ball, and was always available to answer questions however small. We bought during lockdown but this didn't impact our experience in any way. The team made sure we could still safely visit the plot when restrictions allowed, and updated us regularly on the build. Since moving in we did identify some snags but the customer care team dealt with these, and we always got a follow up check in to ensure the matter was resolved. Michelle has kept in touch since we moved in and we couldn't fault her. Definitely would recommend. The houses feel like homes, and it's the little details that really stand out.

We have had nothing but an amazing service from Davidsons at the New Lubbesthorpe site. Michelle was very informative during the house buying process and made sure there was no added stress to what is a very stressful time!
When we moved in, not a problem, any questions (stupid or not) we're answered in a prompt manner. During the home demo, we learnt plenty of tips and tricks which was great as first time buyers.
Whilst dealing with snagging, issues were normally dealt with within a couple of days and all the staff who we dealt with were lovely. Even 1 year later, the post completion team are also quick to respond and happy to help. Customer service has been fantastic over the last year and a half and couldn't recommend enough!

Awful after service. I have items outstanding for remediation 2 and 1/2 years on. I raised these when I moved in with the site managers. Some issues were remediated and others not. They now say I’m out of my warranty. This is frankly misleading. The house was not in a fit for purpose state when I moved in. Therefore Davidsons are in breach of contract. The warranty is irrelevant. They are liars and mislead house buyers. I’m issuing a claim against Davidsons.

Purchased a New build in the Diamond Heights development in March 2022. Building was complete on time and to a good standard.
Staff were helpful and understanding usual white lie sales tactics “if you don’t use our flooring they will have to rip off your skirting boards” But prices for fixtures and fittings and flooring incredibly expensive we saved £5000 doing our flooring privately! This was completed within 4 days of getting our keys so was no inconvenience. Move in and noticed our upgrade to the patio extension was not complete, notified them in late October 2022, I didn’t get a form response until two weeks ago, now they’re trying to lay slabs that are two different colours. After being pushed pretty hard to accept the wrong slab I am and won’t be giving, there seems to be some internal friction in regards to resolving the issue, garden currently dug up and waiting my to be resolved.

Sileby Leicester site!! An awful experience of purchasing a new home. The builders are not interested in customers you are simply a pay cheque.

You are held to ransom and told that if you are not happy with anything to do with the house they will sell it to someone else.

Please be aware of the list of mistakes they make and the poor build quality... Suggesting they build the roof of plastic.. as it's must be strong enough!! Installing the wrong options and generally finishing the house to what ever standard they want and forcing you to complete.

Avoid this company at all cost, they are a joke and should be shut down.

BE AWARE OF THIS HORRIFIC COMPANY. We dealt with Alexandra place in Mapperley Nottingham and received the worst customer service I have ever had and this is across the board running throughout the company, I do not no how they get away with it. We paid a deposit to them and were 1 working day over the contract exchange date, fair enough we except this was in the contract but unfortunately we didn't realise so they cancelled our order kept £400 of the £500 deposit and re advertised the house for £6000 more not even a phone call from them. Not to mention the horrifying customer service we had through out the 5 weeks of dealing with them so this was deffinatly a blessing in discuise. I wish we read all of these terrible reviews before we went ahead as they are all deffinatly true I'm sure of that.

Terrible Builders from start to finish, or at least until they get your signature on the doted line! We had an amazing service from Davidsons Homes when reserving our home in Hanslope. They bent over backwards to make a deal work........BUT once we exchanged contracts all customer service disappeared! We were left to feel like a nuisance. On completion day we had the wrong kitchen hob fitted, mud caked into our stairs, bits of gravel and stones all over the house. We were told that they had a cleaning agent in for 5 hours....not sure exactly what they were cleaning?! No offer to rectify any of the cleaning, only got a cold bucket of water and attempted to clean the stairs!! . Very much feel once they have your money that is it! They asked us to get our side of the transaction completed so they could meet their deadlines for Christmas but they rushed their end and the house reflects that, poor decorating, unlevel flooring, I could go on for awhile! We are now 9 months on and finding it difficult to get any communication regarding ongoing snagging, and our home looks like it is 5 years old! My partner has said he wants to move as the stress and grief they have caused us has ruined what should have been a big milestone for us buying our first home together.....actually got told by the customer service agent for our development when we had a leak in our ensuite last week that "of course this issue had to happen to the ones who always moan"....... Don't be fooled like us and buy in to their 5* builder sales pitch, they are no better that most builders.

A truly lovely customer service team, with special thanks to the lovely Paula at Lower Bardon and Beccy at Hugglescote who looked after me with such care. We ended up buying a house at Lower Bardon and I look forward to catching up with Paula once we move in later this year!

Absolutely first class service and immaculate house!
When we first started to look for a new build we were wowed by Davidson's build design and layout of the estate. Everything being well spaced out with plenty of greeny around! Unlike other builders who just cram more and more houses in.
We bought a Featherstone 4th edition and can honestly say it was and still is immaculate! The layout of the home is just fantastic, with loads of storage space and dressing room area! I was amazed at how large the room sizes are. We only picked up on 2 minimal snags (one of which was dealt with in 10mins) and the rest is pristine.
On completion day the sales manager popped round to ensure everything was ok and in order and to hand us over the keys. The next day we had the site manager pop round to introduce himself and helped us immediately with any queries. All the site team are so pleasant and so helpful!
We then had a follow up courtesy visit about 2 weeks after moving. They then can discuss any snags and talk you through the process to report anything moving forwards.... Again so helpful!
I would 1000% recommend Davidsons homes to anyone, and would absolutely buy another! First class service by this lovely family run business!

PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK! The experience with Davidsons has been atrocious, worst builder and customer service I’ve ever experienced. House design is lovely, build quality is poor, customer service is a joke! Can’t plan for toffee, make false promises and then deny all knowledge. I’ve even met with the MD but unfortunately even that was pointless! 7 months after serious issues raised and still not sorted. House wasn’t maintained prior to our purchase which has even further issues. My advice steer well clear, spend your hard earned money elsewhere and seriously consider if it’s worth the hassle.

Update; It’s now May 2021 and approaching two years since my purchase. Unfortunately all of the above is still true, my property remedials unresolved and now made worse by poor administration. My boundary was changed by then after purchase, utility companies not properly informed of dates of responsibility and the lies continue, damage being caused to my property when they do bother to attend and now serious safety issues that present a risk to my young children!!!

Having looked around carefully at the number of house builders in the area we wanted to live, Davidsons were a front runner for us from the start. We were incredibly impressed with the beautiful street scenes they have created on the 3 developments we visited. They were all consisent and well thought out.

The design of the home we chose with them is really excellent. We really love the choices we were able to make for our home, and the great online portal where we could choose our extras from home.

What has made our buying experience really unique and special, is the incredible service, which is what I call "good old fashioned customer service". So many builders we visited were clearly cutting back on specification or service, yet Davidsons have not done this. From the moment we reserved, we felt really looked after and cared for as a customer. This hasn't stopped since we moved in. On our completion day, we even had a visit from the Customer Liaison Manager to check we were OK towards the end of the day. What a nice touch!

Since we moved in, anything we found in terms of snagging has been fixed really quickly and without any fuss, and we've had hardly any to speak of.

As with any new home purchase, and we have had 4 now, you always get some lumps and bumps along the way. However, Davidson's personal touch to customer service has excelled our expectations and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them anyone and we are very happy with our decision.
