CSIS is a Not for Profit organisation which was founded in 1890 to provide great value car, home and travel insurance products to all current, former and retired Civil and Public Servants, and their partners. All employees of privatised companies are also welcome to try us, such as BT, Royal Mail, Network Rail, and many more. Being a Not for Profit organisation, all available profits are donated back into Civil and Public Service charitable organisations, helping you and those around you.

No nonsense approach to travel insurance.

No nonsense approach to travel insurance at a reasonable price. No endless questionnaires asking you to detail every illness that you've had since the day you were born. All you need to do is to certify that you are fit to travel and any medical conditions that you have are under control (with medication if appropriate).

Excellent product for members

Automatically renewed on 1 July, but originally taken out on 21/1/2025.
Responsive and helpful. Pleasant friendly staff.
Very competitive premium for travel insurance.
Wonderful freedom from filling in medical questionnaires.

However, no claims experience and I hope it stays that way!

We unfortunately had to make two claims…

We unfortunately had to make two claims this year for the first time after many years of travelling. The process was made easier by the help of the staff on the help line who guided me through any queries. Our circumstances were complicated but nothing was too much trouble and I was given time to present all the information needed to finalise our claim. Well done.

Very good staff and service

Very good to deal with as a group of people and their staff are excellent.
However, their rates are not always the best available. I will still contact them every year to be sure whether they have returned to being more competitive, as they certainly used to be.

The pure simplicity of the application

The pure simplicity of the application and the renewal. No messing around digging out historical medical problems and not having to share them. In the event of a claim obviously such records would be provided.

Great travel insurance

As an retired ex civil servant, I very much value the travel insurance provided by CSPA. The cost is very reasonable and includes cover for Cruises and USA. We have been able to travel a lot more to far flung places. I would highly recommend.

Easiest travel insurance to arrange

Easiest travel insurance to arrange, no endless questions and very competitive price. Very easy to contact a person with any queries Staff are very helpful and always pleasant

Good experience with CSIS

I have travel insurance with CSIS which has provided an excellent service. The test is how they respond to a claim and from my experience it was very professional with a lot of empathy. I would fully recommend this service

Phoned 4 or 5 times one afternoon and…

Phoned 4 or 5 times one afternoon and got no response from Home insurance extension. No queue or anything. You lost business.

We recently changed our phone system and, unfortunately, experienced some unexpected technical issues which affected a small number of calls.
