Residential Course Review
I like the practice exams, however in the description it said that it would include a timer and I did not see that aspect of it. Your highlighting exercise and the test questions have a direct correlation. I'm concerned that when I take the test for real, the questions are not going to match your suggested highlights. We'll see. I wish there was an exam that was not tied to a specific book, so I can get practice with trying to find the right book to use for the question. All in all, it is an above average tutorial. The added reference material needs to be more readable. The page-by-page copies with no easy navigation tool makes them not useful. I ended up purchasing those books separately.

To clarify on the timer: our simulated practice exam does include a timer to mirror real testing conditions, so if that wasn't visible to you, we'd like to look into that further. We also want to make sure the correlation between highlights and test questions is giving you the practice you need, and we hear your concern about how closely those will match the real exam — that's valuable feedback for us to review.
On the book-specific practice format: our course is intentionally built this way to help you learn how to navigate and use each reference book effectively, since knowing where to find information quickly is a big part of exam success. That said, we understand the value of practicing book selection across a mixed set of questions, and we'll pass that suggestion along to our curriculum team.
We also hear you on the reference material's readability — page-by-page copies without navigation tools falls short of what we want to deliver, and that's on us. We're sorry it led you to purchase those books separately, and we'll take a hard look at improving that.

Absolutely horrible experience
Absolutely horrible experience. I paid for a webinar CE and was never sent a zoom link. I attempted to contact customer support for nearly an hour. I eventually reached someone and they let me know that since I was now over 30 minutes late, I would not be able to take the class. Ultimately, contractor training center made a mistake (which happens) and did nothing to correct. Not being able to reach customer support for an hour is unacceptable.

The customer service and follow up was excellent. A Student advisor (Theresa McCutcheon) called to make sure I had everything & understood it all. I love the on boarding process
I love the on boarding process. It was easy, and the agent was very helpful and knowledgeable. I called just knowing what I was looking for, but I didn’t know how to proceed. I am extremely disappointed with my experience.
Before making my purchase, I clearly explained to the sales representative that I was completely new to this subject and had no idea where to start. I specifically relied on their expertise to guide me toward the materials I actually needed. Instead of receiving helpful advice, I was sold more than 15 books and study materials without a clear explanation of their purpose or whether they were necessary for my goals.
After spending thousands of dollars, I later learned that many of these materials may not even be relevant to what I need. To make matters worse, I was then told that I would need to purchase additional books. If the original recommendations had been made with the customer's needs in mind, this situation could have been avoided.
As a beginner, I expected guidance, education, and support. Instead, I felt like the priority was making a sale rather than helping me find the right resources. The entire process was overwhelming, frustrating, and unnecessarily expensive.
What is most disappointing is that this situation was completely preventable. I was upfront from the very beginning about my lack of knowledge and specifically asked for guidance. Rather than helping me identify the materials I actually needed, your team sold me a large package of books and resources that I may never use. The responsibility for recommending the appropriate materials should have fallen on the experts I was trusting for advice. Instead, I was left with unnecessary expenses, confusion, and the feeling that my needs as a customer were secondary to making a sale.

For clarity, we reviewed the recorded call. During that conversation, our representative explained there are two different exam paths with different required references: Residential only vs. Unlimited Commercial & Residential. You were asked which route you wanted to pursue, and you confirmed Unlimited Commercial & Residential. The books and study materials that were ordered were based on that selection.
We also want to note that, as stated in our policy, all book items are final sale.
That said, we still wanted to help you move forward once you indicated you may be switching directions. To support you, we offered to switch your course at no extra charge and provide the one additional book needed for the Residential trade route at a significant discount—so you would effectively have two exam-prep options for the price of one.
