Enjoyable experience. Nice little station, well organised on arrival. Very disappointed that we were told while there it wouldn’t be a steam train, but a diesel train. We had 2 hour journey to visit and one of main reasons was because it was steam train. Offered free return visit but not really the point. Nice 2 hour return trip, not most scenic I’ve ever been on but was enjoyable.

I cannot fault the trip and the food for this dining experience …a surprise I purchased for my friends 65th birthday

I have to be honest and say I was disappointed that it isn’t actually a steam train ride! When you read the small print they state they can change the engine to diesel but all photos on the advert show a lovely steam train!
It does also suggest a 2 hour ride through Staffordshire moorlands and whereas it’s a 1 hour ride out and 1 hour back the same way

I don’t want to seem negative but feel it should be more obvious on the advertising for bookings

My husband and I went on the mid-week lunch train. The seats in the dining carriages were like sitting in an armchair, so comfortable that we almost dozed off after our meal.
The staff were efficient and very friendly.
The food was delicious and piping hot.
A fantastic way to spend a couple of hours riding through the countryside, with the excitement of a tunnel thrown in!

Everybody tried to make the experience as good as possible, even though we have to take a Steam hauled experience at a later date owing to technical circumstances outside of the operatives control

Lovely experience on the train. Long queues though for cafe, and worse for the toilets, 2 of which were out of order. Staff were fabulous. Will definitely do another trip. Thank you

Nice experience. The view was okay but to many hedge grows blocking the views.My Breakfast was very nice( full English) MY wife had eggs benedict with was over cooked, but in all we had a nice time.

Food and staff were excellent, all in all a great experience

What a lovely evening my daughter and i experienced travelling through the beautiful evening sunshine sitting on well sprung seats and having a generously filled tuna mayonnaise jacket potato. The staff were lovely and the whole experience was well worth the £15 each we paid. The fact that a diesel engine was pulling the train did not detract from the trip but a steam engine would have been more picturesque.

Went on the breakfast train and it was amazing, from the comfort of the seating, the yummy food and drink and the friendliness of the Staff was perfect. The country side is also lovely. Would definitely book again.

Drove two hours for a exciting trip on a steam train, But got there to be told the train has broken down and it will be a diesel train (What can you do). We did get a voucher code for a another free trip, But that code doesn't work. I feel like a phone call saying the steam train has broken down and would you like a refund. And it would of been to have a bit of information about the carriages and the trains would be nice.

Arrived at the station in good time had a drink in the cafe and awaited the train arrival, we were disappointed to be told that the steam engine had broken down and that a diesel engine would take over.
However the journey was good with plenty of seats available and also very comfortable, all staff were very pleasant and helpful and made us feel welcome, I would no hesitate to recommend this trip.

Had a wonderful experience on our brunch train ride on the Churnet Valley Railway. Such a pretty line, far longer than I was expecting. The food was super, dining carriages very impressive and wonderful service. I'd highly recommend it.

Disappointed if honest, steam engine not working, plus jacket potato was cold, beans were very cold, plus advert says choice of drinks, tea, coffee or water, was given water..
This was suppose to be a surprise for my partner who is having a difficult time at present, still enjoyable but disapointed

Thought we had booked a steam engine when we arrived it was a diesel a little disappointed.

A nice way to spend a couple of hours chatting to friends.

The whole trip was excellent from the time you’re greeted in the car park til the time you leave. Welcoming check in, great staff both on and off the train and Ex meal service.
