Great experience and service as usual not our first time we did the Sunday lunch this time which was perfect our last trip was on the breakfast train and that was also perfect five stars ⭐️

They changed the route from originally planned the coffee and cake nobody told us before boarding the train you had to collect your coffee and cake. We thought you got the coffee and cake on the train very disappointing.

It was first experience of Churnet Valley Railway, but hopefully it won’t be my last. Due to the extreme weather conditions they were running to an Emergency Timetable and couldn’t go across the moors for obvious reasons, but gave us 2 shorter runs along the valley instead, making sure that we still had the best experience possible. Breakfast was fun, and the crew were all fantastic, cheerful and helpful. Most of all, it was, in my view, good value for money, and the loco was immaculately presented. Ample parking at the station, and a wonderful little tea room.

We loved this breakfast journey, the service was great, staff super enthusiastic and friendly and the old worldly feel was fab!

A lovely comfortable train and welcoming staff. Unfortunately due to the extreme weather the train ride was rescheduled to only go half way twice instead of the full length of the line.
We had the Sunday roast, far too big a serving but still of a reasonable standard. Considering how much effort goes into keeping the heritage of these trains running it is value for the price.

Very friendly staff. Easy to find which was lucky since we were running late! A lovely afternoon.

We went in the dining experience - Sunday Lunch - with the Mother and Mother in Law - the journey had been scaled back due to the recent risk of fire in the area, but it was a lovely afternoon out!

The staff were really attentive and it was a lovely afternoon out - totally recommend this experience.

The staff were very helpful and cheerful, the trip was well organised, but I did ask in the cafe if they did gluten free bread to have a few slices of toast they said they had the bread but could make the toast but didn't give an explanation as to why.

Brilliant day, despite changes to timetable. Lovely oatcake lunch. Very friendly and knowledgeable volunteer staff. Look forward to visiting again.

Had a lovely time with our dad's for a father's day treat. Unfortunately journey was amended due to risk of fire which is understandable but so happy to see the steam train rather than a diesel.
It may be a little better if tables were allocated with your name on. Really enjoyed it though. Well organised overall.

Bombay Express.
From the moment we parked the car we were pleased with the look and feel of the railway, beautiful old fashioned station which added to the atmosphere of our trip, felt like we had travelled back in time.
The sun was out and the seats outside the cafe were an added bonus as we were a little early, so we sat outside and had a pre journey drink in the glorious sunshine.
Extremely impressed with the set up of the carriages, old and authentic with the tables expertly laid.
Beautiful comfy seating with plenty of space.
All staff were smartly dressed, most impressed with the station master, he looked superb in his old fashioned uniform and it really set the mood when the engine driver was tooting along the tracks.
The food was top quality with the courses spaced out well and adequately timed. The staff were very attentive, with nothing being too much trouble. They were professional, polite and smiley 😊
I will definitely be using this Gem of a place again.

Greek Evening.
This was a magical evening - being in a lovely train carriage, eating excellent Greek style food whilst being driven by a steam engine in full steam.

Highly recommend a visit to the Railway. So organised and lovely staff and volunteers. Excellent food too.

Lovely Indian dining experience for my mum and her partner, even though due to fire risk the journey was altered it didn't take away the enjoyment.

Excellent evening, staff made us feel special and food was delicious. Couldn't fault it.
