A family-run artisan cheese company based in Skegness, Lincolnshire UK - The business was started in 2012 by husband & wife, Stuart & Emma Colclough. It was later incorporated as The Chuckling Cheese Company Ltd in 2015
The husband and wife duo, Emma and Stuart Colclough set out on their cheesy adventure hosting market stalls at local events around the United Kingdom. During this time is when the cheese team began to grow and soon become notorious for Flavoured Cheddar and our widely developed range of unique flavoured cheese. Offering over 40 different flavours.
We’re not just a cheese company, we also have a wide range selection of chilli jams, craft beers, vodkas, coffee syrups, fudge bars, sweet meringues, and lots more. In 2016 we opened our first Chuckling Cheese Shop in the Skegness Hildred's Centre, then in the next two years, we opened two other stores. One in Doncaster Frenchgate Shopping Centre and another in Middlesbrough Hill Street Shopping Centre. In 2020, we grew the company further by opening two more shops, in Merry Hill Shopping Centre in Brierley Hill near Birmingham and one in Metrocentre in Gateshead near Newcastle. At our shops, you will find an extensive product offering, such as baked goods, cheese sampling, and a freshly baked cheese toastie.

received my order today which was damaged. broken glass everywhere. The refund amount i requested.. £1.40. the response from them asking for additional photos of packing slips, which werent provided, pictures of all 21 bottles received along with pictures of best before dates, and a picture of the best before date on the bottle that was smashed into 100 pieces.
I would avoid this company if you can as me sending 4 pictures of the closed damaged box, the internal packaging and the smashed bottle isnt enough for them to issue a refund of £1.40

Where to start. Failed to deliver on the dedicated day, they asked me to choose. When I asked them to cancel the order, they said they couldn’t as it already been dispatched and two days later they cancelled the order. I had no apology. They told lots of lies in their emails. They told me a refund of being processed two weeks ago and they only did it on this day, which is two weeks later. I will advise anybody not to use this company. The customer service is horrendous and they are trying to rip people off. They are a disgusting company..

This is the second Christmas I have used chuckling cheese. Avoid at all costs. I ordered in the 7/12 for delivery on or before 19/12. Site says allow 4-5 working days. Delivery times are not guaranteed BUT SUGGESTED. my deliveries have never been delivered on time. No updates on delayed deliveries. In fact they only picked my orders on 19/12. One package stayed on recipients doorstep for 7 days as they were away. No offer of voucher or refund. Glib apologies. Returns had to be with 30 days. Just binned the cheeses. I will never use this company again. They are fully aware of delivery issues but have not updated sites anticipated delivery dates. Not recommended. I was let down on all deliveries. More fool me for using them again this year

Received my box opened it , jar chutney was smashed , chutney all over inside of box and cheese shards of glass all over the cheese , and they will only refund for the jar of chutney and the cardboard box it was a christmas gift so left without one to give, as if I can just give the person the cheese covered in chutney and glass the whole box should be refunded broken glass all over food is contamination, terrible communication are children writing your emails!!

Ordered as a Christmas gift to be delivered on the 23 December to coincide with the recipients being home. It didnt arrive till the 24th, they were not home and eventually it was delivered on the 27 December which completely ruined the Christmas surprise. The company said the parcel could be returned but the recipients were not able to do this. I had hoped as way of apology, at the very least, the company would have offered a voucher for later use. They were completely unapologetic. The attitude was hard luck! It's a shame as it has the possibility to be a good company. Sort out delivery and customer service Chuckling Cheese!

I have had items from here before namely pickled onions absolutely gorgeous, however I ordered some before Christmas but realised I had made a mistake with the date so chuckling cheese very kindly changed the date. But the said date came no items they came on the original date so had to delay my holiday plans to recieve them. I did complain but heard nothing for ages then got an email to say they had sent me an apology which I didnt recieve so unfortunately would not be ordering again as customer service not good.

Like many other reviews, the cheese (if and when it arrives!) is ok but their delivery and customer service is shocking.
Ordered and PAID early November and selected 22 December delivery date - guess what? Order didn’t arrive! Got Email from this company at end of that day saying it was “currently being picked”, I contacted cheese company but no reply until
2 days later DPD message to says it expected but still no reply from cheese company, eventually parcel arrives then finally cheese people reply with a screen shot of DPD’s delivery update - no apology, nothing.
For the prices they charge you expect better service - only buy from them if you aren’t too fussed about when your order will arrive.

Ordered in November for delivery on a specific date for a Christmas gift. Gift was not ‘marked’ as dispatched until the date the gift was meant to be delivered. Delivery company did not receive this for a further 3 days, but promptly delivered on the 4th day.
Unfortunately the reason for the specific delivery date was due to me being away for Christmas and needing the item before this date for a gift.
As I was away for 5 days, I wasn’t home for the delivery and the item is no where to be seen.
Contacted customer services but no response. It seems a lot of customers have similar experiences.
I will now be taking the matter up with my bank directly.

Delivery issues. Ordered Christmas gift early December but it did not arrive. Chased after a couple of weeks to be told there was a technical issue. It took 18 days and me chasing to arrive. Customer service just said well 2-5 days delivery is just a guide. Would not recommend.

I appreciate it’s a busy time but you are taking money off people and not delivering on time! No excuses!
Having ordered my hamper for a Christmas gift on 12 th Dec for a 19th Dec delivery i waited but it never turned up.
Emailed many times but no reply from them so as they had totally missed my delivery date and the opportunity for me to take my hamper to my friend as I gift I emailed to cancel which I thought was reasonable as it hadn’t been dispatched and the cheese was now no use as I had to order from another company so my friend could have a Christmas gift from me.
( This may I add was ordered and delivered in 24 hours from Snowdonia cheese which I will now be using from now on and was fantastic! )
After 3 days they replied and said I couldnt cancel as they had dispatched it!
What an absolute joke!
It turned up on Christmas Eve late afternoon which is totally unacceptable and no company should be able to treat their customers in such a disrespectful way!
Customer service was disgraceful and the company is completely incompetent.

I made several orders with the company for the festive period. The first order was for an Advent Calendar and a Christmas Box. Unfortunately the cheese for the box was out of stock. However instead of sending the Advent Calendar they refused saying we had to wait for the whole order. It eventually arrived in the second week of December - useless but the company would not accept this was unacceptable.
Fast forward to a second delivery for 23 December which was to be a gift for someone, we were leaving to see them early on 24th. Parcel did not arrive. It arrived on 24th after we had left so the cheese was wasted. Again went to customer services - all they said was your cheese has been delivered sorry for any inconvenience . No attempt to recognise customer had wasted over £50 with them over two orders. Asked for this to be escalated and all you get is sorry but you did get your delivery
Avoid this company they do not care if items are not delivered on time

Late arrival and no apology. This was a Christmas present and due on 22nd December as recipients were going away on morning of 24th. I chased 3 times as I received notice of a delay on Friday 19th (no explanation). Delivered afternoon of 24th. I finally got an apology for their delay in responding to my complaint but absolutely no apology for the late delivery - I was just referred to their very small print stating delivery days weren’t guaranteed. They did not fulfill my Christmas order. Which was placed in NOVEMBER. They
Emailed me on the 22nd December to say it was going to be late (I selected delivery Friday 19th) and with a courier within the next 24 hours and then the next day I had a cancellation and a refund and not one person has had the decency to get in touch to this day!! They left me with no gift , no time to get a replacement gift, and stress I really don’t need at 8 months pregnant, I would have been absolutely fine with it arriving late even though they had from november to arrange it, at least I could explain the gift was on its way but to cancel Altogether is shocking. Not only did they do this but there was also no correspondence through email to confirm anything throughout the month I waited .

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the handling of my order placed on December 8th, 2023, for delivery on December 23rd, 2023. Unfortunately, despite receiving tracking information from your company, it was clear that the parcel had not been given to the courier, as the tracking details were inaccurate.
When I reached out for assistance, I received a generic response advising me to wait 48 hours. This is unacceptable, especially since the parcel was intended as a Christmas gift. Upon further communication, I was told by DPD that an attempted delivery occurred on Christmas Eve at 8 p.m. However, I can confirm that this claim is false. Our home was occupied by four adults at the time, and we have 24-hour recorded CCTV as well as a Ring doorbell, both of which show no attempted delivery or contact.
This morning I have received a generic email from yourselves that DPD will attempt delivery again , 6 days past my original date, needless to say I will refusing delivery of this item.
I am requesting a full investigation into the delivery claims made by DPD and an immediate resolution to the situation from yourselves. I also expect a full refund including postage as this was a Christmas gift that failed to arrive as promised.
I am also disappointed to note that after reading other similar reviews on Trustpilot, it seems this type of poor service is not an isolated incident. Based on my experience, I will not be using your company again and will advise others to do the same.
I expect a prompt and satisfactory response.

Ordered cheese hampers on 16th of November for specific delivery on 22-12,I’m still awaiting these products DPD are just as bad in this case I’ve ordered previously from here as I do for Christmas gifts but certainly won’t be ordering again my hampers have remained in a warehouse in Newcastle since 24-12 until they try to deliver tomorrow but I will be refusing delivery he can take them straight back never again will I order from this company
