Had a full rewire by CB services done a couple weeks back.

Started off well, we were told someone had pulled out of a job so could get it slightly cheaper if we took that booking slot but we would need to pay deposit by end of day/week. I don't know if this was a sales tactic looking back now. So we did, paid £2112 for 40% deposit to have that slot booked for us. Would start on the Monday and be finished by the Friday. Decent plan. We told them we would be living in home and would need certain things back in play to live, as we'd still be all working at school etc... no issue at all.

The Friday before I was rang to be told they had missed to finish a project so wouldn't be able to start Monday. I was told they would start Wednesday instead now and they would throw extra guys at it to get it done for the weekend. I agreed, even though we had already paid a deposit for the slot. I thought well extra guys, less time for us to have to deal with a building site as a home so seemed okay.

Wednesday came and 3 nice blokes showed up, genuinely good guys, but that was it I was expecting a team of more tbh, but had faith in the guys. I had said we wouldn't be living in the property now to help along. The day before I had moved all the furniture, taken apart some other bedroom furniture things, we had moved most of the kitchen out except big appliances and partner and kid were going to be at parents, I would be living in the hut out back for couple days. This allowed them to just crack on and not worry about it being in a livable condition, hopefully save a bit of time and help them along. It all went well, I really can't fault the guys they basically stripped and rewired a whole home from the 1980s in 2 days, very impressed with the speed and the promise to keep to the deal of finishing on Friday.

So why the 2 stars?

-1 star for the finish, quick yes, quality not so. Every socket and plug that has been fitted has never seen a level, most are very squint. The only straight outlets are the ones that already existed. The extractor fan in the bathroom which was fitted rattles every morning you use it. The exhaust port for the extractor fan on the outside of the building has no weather seal round it at all. I'll need to get ladders to go up and at least silicone it to stop ingress. An outside light I was told could not be done due to it not having an earth, yesterday I had a look myself, twin and earth all there, TBF the earth had been cut back, when I'm not sure...
One of the double sockets for the bedroom has been installed in the kitchen instead of the bedroom, but has worked out as the bedroom one has been fitted behind where the bed will be making it practically useless anyways. There is a canvas on the wall for the centre so each double socket can be put at each side of a bed, this was forgotten and just ran where it met, so both plugs aren't usable with the bed being in middle of wall and canvas. There were a couple of extra things that were not as planned due to extra work, running chases and time constraints. Which brings us onto the next -1 star.

-1 star for planning, I had booked and paid for this in advance, we were told someone had pulled out that week. I understand things can't always go as planned but the finish of my project has taken the brunt of the outcome of that by being sub par and less than what was expected.

Another -1 star for my cooker and some furniture damage. My daughter's desk, had a couple nicks out of and a side panel that was ripped off. Its about 2 months old, We've just moved into the house. Cheap enough to replace and repair but past the point. After the rewire our cooker kept throwing the RCD in the fuse board. Had the guys come out look at the work and they diagnosed a faulty cooker which I just took there word. We had a meter engineer in to upgrade the electric and gas meters on Wednesday, they highlighted to me there was a couple of extra wires and an earth just protruding from the bottom of fuse box. 20 minutes later the cleaned it up, sorted the loose wiring. Which happened to be for the cooker. Checked the cooker and it's been working since. Saved me buying another £300 cooker.

Now I do not blame the guys at all, they did a vast amount of work in basically 2.5 days. But if CB services had kept it to the full Monday to Friday, I believe the finish and issues wouldn't have existed as they do now.
Myself personally never met another CB services employee from the day before the project started. I only ever dealt with the sub contractors after the deposit was paid which isn't ideal.

All in all 2/5 stars. 1 for the guys did best they could with time, 1 for the speed, -3 for the finish, poor planning and the issues after. We did have a boiler replacement quote done at the same time, but have decided to go elsewhere due to how the rewire has turned out. The majority of work I'm sure they do is well above standard, but I think they missed the mark on this one.

Firstly they have the Gas Safe on their website to assure potential customers. Gas Safe confirmed to me today they are not registered with them.
I paid them £1,250 upfront to make urgent flue repairs. They did not assess the job correctly despite me telling explicitly of a certain part that need replaced and what turned out to be a 3/4 hour job took 8 DAYS to be completed. I was left without hot water for all that time. They cut out 2 hatches in my ceiling which they left for me to make good and my floor was covered in plaster dust, again I had to sort.
Their supervisor Neil came out to assess. He "complained" they made no money on the job as if that was my fault! He said he would call me back next day. Never heard from anyone from the company since. AVOID THIS BUSINESS-ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE-JUST WANT YOUR CASH SO NEVER PAY THEM IN FULL UPFRONT. Take no responsibility for their failings. Shocking way to treat people.

Great company to deal with , from the first phone call to getting a home visit , no pushing for a sale , asks what your looking for , next day guys turn up to fit boiler , clean tidy and very professional job done , thanks guys appreciated good to get hot water again 😁

We had a combi boiler fitted and cannot fault the workmanship and professionalism of the team. Craig and Connor were punctual and polite, kept us informed on progress and arrived when they said they would. They respected our property and left everything clean and tidy on completion. Would recommend this company.

From start till finish the dealings with, Debbie, Darren and John was second to none. We were without heating and hot water for a week, and this company sorted it. Would definitely recommend this company. Well done guys, you made two people very warm and happy.

Calvin came out to give me a quote later that day was a great price so accepted there and then. That was on Monday . Thanks to Debbie literally project managing it, it ran very smoothly and quick. She couldn’t have done more, friendly, punctual, on top of it all and ready for questions or concerns!

I needed a replacement boiler quickly, with a good quality 30kW combi boiler. We agreed a very competitive price the day they visited and it was installed the next day. They also carried out a couple of repairs without any issues and left a great job! I run an Architect’s firm and have seen plenty of firms work. I am extremely happy with the work of CB services who performed well beyond what I expected. Nice bunch too! Very much recommended for anyone needing this type of work. Altogether excellent!

From the booking of new boiler fitting , the updates and the actual boiler fitting, everything was excellent.

From start to finish excellent, prompt arrived exactly on time great workers clean and tidy no need to chase them with endless phone calls can't praise them enough.got 3 years free gas certificate called them was done 2 hours later, cheapest quote out of five .

From the first meeting i knew i was in great hands, with the information recieved about what was the best boiler till instaltion of the new boiler. The team that arrived were effiecent, tidy and a bid of old fashioned humour. The house is now cosy and thats whats important in this winter weather. My last boiler didn't work right with no hot water so now i have it all. My bonus was to get a free Hive installed, its so good.

I’m very happy with my decision to use CB Services Group to remove an old antiquated boiler and install a new boiler new radiators at my property. Darren who arrived to provide a quote, spent time discussing possible pros and cons for citing of a new boiler in a different location which was a huge help in making a final decision as to where boiler should be situated.
Craig and Connor carried out the work over a day and a half and I am very pleased with the high standard of their work. New boiler and Hive system all working a treat.
Debbie also deserves a mention for ensuring the very detailed quote was received the next day and for ensuring all relevant information was relayed to me.

Amazing customer service from Neil first of all, coming out to look at my 20 year old boiler, talked us through our requirements and we chose one, then spoke to Debbie the next day who was lovely, two days later my new boiler was fitted by Nathan & Stewart who worked quickly & efficiently, Nathan talked me through how to work my Hive, they left my house with no mess. Highly recommended this company and I will pass on their name to friends & family.

Supposed to arrive at 10am on the 6/11/2025. By 11.30 am I chased the office to be told he was delayed at another job. He arrived nearer 12.00pm and looked at it. He said it won't be done today there is not enough time!
He would speak to his boss and return on the 7/11/2025 at 8.00am and get it all sorted. He left and I took another day off work! Call later in the day He is not coming now until Monday 10/11/2025. So another call to my boss to change my day off until Monday! Two days lost and a call to their office the receptionist confirms that the deposit is non refundable?? The boiler was fitted but would I use them again?? And will they still be around to do the free servicing?? They were certainly not the cheapest. After all the hassle and two days lost holidays not even an apology!

Fantastic service overall from quote to installation of boiler all completed within a couple of days. Really cannot speak highly enough about my experience and thoroughly recommend CBS to anyone thinking of a new boiler. Quote process really quick and easy with professional and knowledgeable staff. Had a new boiler installed by CB Services. Absolutely professional service to the core. Courteous crew who patiently offered explanations for all my installation-related queries. Left the premises spotlessly clean, with no residual waste left behind. Well worth every penny spent. Strongly recommended.

Callum arrived to our freezing cold house to quote for a replacement boiler against two other companies. He was charming, knowledgeable, clear in his explanations to us lay people. He saved us money by quoting for a boiler more suitable to our circumstances compared to two other companies who tried to sell us a larger and more expensive boiler.
Craig and John duly arrived early the following week, removed the old boiler and quickly and efficiently installed a shiny new one. We are all toasty now and very happy that we chose CB Services for the job - special nod to Debbie. Can't praise her and the company enough. Come on winter do your worst!

CP Services responded professionally at every point. The heating engineer fitted a new Viessman boiler and Hive controller as requested, and at a competitive price. The plumbing work and installation was excellent and the whole experience was followed up by a courtesy call next day. Looking forward to CP services servicing my new boiler on an annual basis in future years
