Quick delivery to solve a problem
Quick delivery while I was traveling in the UK. The light helped offset the (temporary) loss of our brake light.

First class product and sales support
Customer service and aftersales support second to none. It’s a first class product which is a must have for all motorcycle riders. I don’t ride on the road without it.

Price of US to EU different
Right now Brake Free is going at 224€ for europe.
While for the US market it's going at a 146€ for the same unit.
The mounts? 19€ europe and 12€ in the US.
In addition to paying the additional taxes and shipping cost it's stupid high.
What is the justification for the same product to cost 80€ more in europe?
For example in portugal we pay 23% taxes, if I ordered from US even after paying taxes here the product would be at 180€.
Feels like we are being robbed at a premium in Europe for the same product that is being sold in US.
Due to this, I haven't seen one motoblogger or actual rider using this from europe. Perhaps if the price was lower there would be more demand.. ?
Even more when we add in to the fact that this is manufactured in china..

We understand your frustration when comparing prices between regions, but there are a few important details worth clarifying to put this into perspective. First off, the prices you see on the U.S. website don’t include sales or state tax. In the U.S., products are typically shown excluding these taxes, which are only added during checkout and varies by state and locality. In contrast, EU pricing is required by law to include all VAT upfront—in your case, that’s 23% in Portugal—which already creates a significant difference before considering anything else.
Additionally, even if international shipping from the U.S. were available (which it isn’t via brakefreetech.com), you’d be looking at extra import duties, additional shipping fees, customs handling, and on top of everything the 23% Portugese VAT. In most cases where people try to bypass this through reshippers or indirect channels, they still end up paying €220+ in the end—sometimes even more than if they’d just ordered directly through the EU store.
There’s also another factor often overlooked in these comparisons. Within the EU, we are required to provide a 2-year legal warranty. Brake Free is a premium product with high build quality and long-lasting performance, but the added legal requirement to support a product for 24 months does increase our cost structure. This warranty protection isn’t included in U.S. pricing, where a standard 1-year limited warranty is typically the norm. It’s one of those backend responsibilities that don’t show up on a product page but certainly impact long-term pricing and customer support models.
All that said—we genuinely value your curiosity and interest. Brake Free has a real potential to improve rider safety in Europe, and we’d love for you to experience it for yourself. If you’re open to it, I’d love to better understand what might’ve happened so we can prevent this in the future. Could you let us know:
// Was the mount still attached to your helmet afterwards?
// Which mount type were you using (Universal or XL)?
// What helmet model do you use?
// Were you wearing a backpack or luggage that might’ve pushed against the unit?
// Did the light give a solid “click” when you mounted it before the ride?
In most cases like this, the root cause tends to be the unit not fully clicked down into the mount—something that can happen, especially if you’re mounting it for the first time or switching helmets.
If you’d be willing to share a bit more context, I’ll personally take care of this and see what we can do for you—possibly even offering a replacement unit at a reduced cost. We would like to get you back to riding with Brake Free as soon as possible.

I have not received the item jet
I have not received the item jet, so I can not review it
UPDATE: Due to the problems with delivery organization which transported my item to different country, i have finally received the brake free light.
I didn't have to much chance to test it fully, but i can confirm that it is great build quality...
But i must say that it is a lot pricey if you are not in EU, because on top of the price you will have to pay import duties, VAT and also custom expenses fee for import provider - DHL, USPS, FedEx etc....
On the end - it costed me 300 euros, which is simply way too much.

VF : Produit de qualité fonctionne bien j'ai juste peur que il y ait de l'eau a s’incrusté par le bouton allumé même si sa na pas l'air d'être possible car ce bouton ce trouve au dessus mais c'est ma plus gros peur. Le port de recharge lui na pas ce problème car il se trouve en dessous.
