I only just scraped through my Online Assessment Centre and wanted some extra help preparing for my South Wales Police final in-force interview, so I joined Bluelight Consultancy less than 4 weeks ago.

The materials from the online academy were a great starting point and really helped me to understand the interview process and what was expected. They really helped me understand how to structure my preparation and build my confidence.

The 3 coaching sessions with my coach, Sarah Morton, were so helpful. Sarah was supportive, knowledgeable, and really helped me through the process, building my confidence. She helped me pick out experiences from my own life that I could use in my interview answers, and then build them into strong examples that matched the competencies being assessed. This gave me so much more preparation and confidence going into the interview.

The weekly Monday webinars also helped a lot. I think the feedback from the different coaches and learning from the other participants really helped me build my confidence and prepare. Everyone involved was supportive and wanted to see each other succeed.

I would recommend this service to anyone going through the police recruitment process.

I applied to the Metropolitan Police and passed the behaviour test on my own.

Since the first phone call with Debbie Jacyna, I was amazed. Everything was clear and understandable in what I needed to do and how they could help me.

Obviously, the price came and was even affordable.

I did my first OAC with Sarah Tucker. I passed and she was lovely. Clear and honest someone that you can rely on.

I prepared and conducted the final interview with Darren Rawlings. Stunning and amazing coach professionally and personally. He was like a parrot on my shoulder, guiding and supporting me in everything. I did not get the detective but I got an offer for pc and I accepted because I want to be the first police officer and second I can try again from inside later on.

I met online all the coaches all amazing and prepared.

I am grateful to all and without them, everything would not be possible so I am very happy to choose them, but the best thanks go to Brendan, who every Wednesday enlightens everyone with knowledge and personal stories to provide an input to everyone do not give up and practice. He does not believe in luck just in working hard and getting it.

I took up with light around 3 months ago in preparation for my sgts board and I must say its the best thing I've ever done. Well worth the investment of both money and time.

It gave me incredible confidence going into the board. After putting the time and effort into it I don't think there was a question they could've asked me that I did not feel confident answering.

My coach was Raj, he was outstanding, equipped me with all the tools I needed to be successful. The webinars were really good, involved everyone and were relevant to the current question sets boards are asking.

I would not hesitate in recommending this service to anyone. Without a doubt got me through the process.

I passed my PCEP process and I have no one but the members of BlueLight Consultancy to thank. Massively grateful - especially to Jane who helped me pass my SIFT after failing terribly the first time on my own. I also want to give my regards to Darren who brilliantly helped me pass my OAC and got me ready for the final interview.
The other coaches have also been brilliant too as every weekly webinar was worth committing to. I especially like how each coach has different coaching methods but I was still able to take something from each and every one of them. The webinars, hosted by 1 of the BlueLight coaches every week, were respectful but honest, and inclusive, which I personally believe helped build confidence.

Bluelight Consultancy has been exceptional from start to finish. My mentor, Andrea, coached me through my sergeant promotion boards, and thanks to her guidance I scored 27 out of 30, achieving the 2nd highest score out of 63 interviews. The one‑to‑one coaching was genuinely priceless — honest, direct feedback that pushed me to improve and gave me real clarity on how to perform at my best.
The boards process involves a panel interviewing multiple candidates who are probably all coached in force to use a similar structure. I believe that going with BLC made me stand out, my structure was different to my colleagues and in my feedback the chief superintendent explained how impressed she was with it.
The online webinars were equally valuable. Hearing how officers from different forces approached promotion topics broadened my perspective, and the speakers’ vast experience shone through in every session. Their advice was practical, relevant, and clearly grounded in years of policing and leadership knowledge.

From start to finish extremely professional, amazing tutors with amazing knowledge on OAC and final interview without their help I wouldn’t of gone this far

I paid around £1500. After two sessions I was unable to join the police due to family issues. I asked for a refund. The amount they refunded me was 235.50... For a service that I barely used - 1300 quid down the drain what a joke! It almost feels like a scam after my experience with them.

I recently passed my Met Police Detective assessment with the support of Blue Light Consultancy. There was loads of information available online for each part of the assessment, which really helped me feel as prepared as possible going in. The coaching sessions were also really useful for going through interview questions in detail and receiving feedback. I worked with Jane for the OAC, Sarah M for my final interview, and also received support from Raj for the detective briefing. Each coach brought something different, but all were highly knowledgeable, supportive, and clearly experienced in what assessors are looking for.

I was changing careers at the time, and I’ll be honest — I initially felt quite vulnerable and lacked confidence. Coming from a non-policing background, I wasn’t sure if I could perform at the level required, particularly under interview pressure.

What stood out with Blue Light Consultancy was how structured and practical their approach is. They break everything down in line with the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework, and give you clear, usable frameworks rather than generic advice.

The 1-1 sessions were one of the most valuable parts for me. They helped identify gaps in my answers, refine my structure, and significantly improve my delivery. More importantly, they gave me a real boost in confidence at a time when I needed it most.

I also made use of the additional resources and webinars, particularly around the briefing exercise and forward-facing questions, which helped me better understand what assessors are looking for.

As a result of the support, I achieved a strong score in the OAC (98th percentile in the SIFT and a high overall score in the assessment centre), and went into my final interview feeling far more prepared, structured, and confident. I’m pleased to say I successfully passed.

I went through both the OAC and final interview with Bluelight. The resources they provide through both their website and coaches are invaluable, and I can say that the OAC resources are better than you’ll find anywhere else, same with the final interview.

My coach was Richard Fisher, who was very supportive throughout my several months with Bluelight. All of the coaches are brilliant, as you can experience on any webinar. Richard in particular helped with working out what experience I can bring to my OAC and Final interview, and developing these into structured, coherent and strong answers.

The webinars are probably the most useful resource the Academy gives you access to, both for OAC and FI. They give you the ability to hear other people’s answers, give them feedback, speak directly to other coaches, and get feedback for your own answers. It’s a positive environment to make mistakes and learn in.

The total cost for me was somewhere around £2500 - £1400 for the OAC and £1100 for the Final Interview, but if you can afford that and commit to it, it is well worth the investment in your career.

The day I have been waiting for that was once just a dream has finally arrived, and I started my training this week. I cannot recommend Bluelight Consultancy enough. The support and knowedlge from the team have been instrumental to me and I could not have gotten this far without them. My coach, Raj was (and still is) incredibly supportive and helpful, with a bonus dad joke mixed into the equation every now and then.
