Having failed my Inspector to Chief Inspector board, I knew I had to do something different.

I had already watched some of Brendan's videos, and they made a lot of sense. I realised I was lacking the models, confidence and understanding of current policing challenges needed to perform at my best. I needed to be current, confident and calm.

I decided to sign up. Some may say it was expensive; I say it was an investment in myself.

The Sunday evening sessions were a great way to set aside dedicated time for preparation. They were also incredibly valuable because they brought together officers from different forces, all offering different perspectives and experiences. The discussions covered the kinds of topics that are likely to arise at board, giving a real breadth of conversation and helping me practise presenting my thoughts clearly to others.

My coach, Catherine, was excellent. She knew exactly how to get the best out of me and helped ensure I was at my peak when I walked into my board. More importantly, she helped me believe in myself.

The difference in me from January to the day of my board was incredible. Of course, you still have to put the work in yourself, but the team at Blue Light are experts in what they do, and having them on my team made the difference.

I didn't just pass my board – the feedback I received was that I had "smashed it".

Worth every penny, and I look forward to continuing my journey towards the next rank.

The course content is laid out clearly and concisely on the website for learning prior to the scheduled 1-1s. Andrea (my course co-ordinator) was in regular contact and answered all my queries promptly as they arose. Brendan offered regular opportunities for group contact and to answer questions outside the normal remit of my frequent 1-1s and role plays. At all times everybody involved was encouraging and understood the importance of building confidence. I would say that for anyone considering a career in policing they are doing themselves a major disservice if not considering Bluelight.

I only just scraped through my Online Assessment Centre and wanted some extra help preparing for my South Wales Police final in-force interview, so I joined Bluelight Consultancy less than 4 weeks ago.

The materials from the online academy were a great starting point and really helped me to understand the interview process and what was expected. They really helped me understand how to structure my preparation and build my confidence.

The 3 coaching sessions with my coach, Sarah Morton, were so helpful. Sarah was supportive, knowledgeable, and really helped me through the process, building my confidence. She helped me pick out experiences from my own life that I could use in my interview answers, and then build them into strong examples that matched the competencies being assessed. This gave me so much more preparation and confidence going into the interview.

The weekly Monday webinars also helped a lot. I think the feedback from the different coaches and learning from the other participants really helped me build my confidence and prepare. Everyone involved was supportive and wanted to see each other succeed.

I would recommend this service to anyone going through the police recruitment process.

I did my first OAC with Sarah Tucker. I passed and she was lovely. Clear and honest someone that you can rely on.

I prepared and conducted the final interview with Darren Rawlings. Stunning and amazing coach professionally and personally. He was like a parrot on my shoulder, guiding and supporting me in everything. I did not get the detective but I got an offer for pc and I accepted because I want to be the first police officer and second I can try again from inside later on.

I met online all the coaches all amazing and prepared.

I am grateful to all and without them, everything would not be possible so I am very happy to choose them, but the best thanks go to Brendan, who every Wednesday enlightens everyone with knowledge and personal stories to provide an input to everyone do not give up and practice. He does not believe in luck just in working hard and getting it.
