Beware of buying from Bellthorne

I purchased several items of clothing from Bellthorne on 29 August this year.

At the time of purchase, the items were advertised as being made from high-quality materials, with the following description:

“Crafted from carefully selected high quality materials designed to look refined and feel exceptional. Our garments are made from soft breathable fabrics chosen for comfort, movement and effortless sophistication. From smooth cotton blends to premium knits.”

The images used to advertise the products also gave the impression that the garments were of a good-quality, tailored and premium standard.

I was also promised delivery within 10 days. However, despite several emails chasing the order, the goods were not delivered until 14 September.

When the items arrived, I was extremely disappointed. The quality was substantially different from the description and the images used to advertise them. The garments appeared to be made from very poor-quality synthetic material and were not of the quality, finish or construction I had been led to expect. In particular, they did not appear to be the described cotton-blend or premium garments, and the finishing was noticeably poor and substandard.

I contacted Bellthorne immediately after receiving the items and requested a refund. Instead of providing a refund, they refused and attempted to offer store credit. I have made several further attempts to resolve the matter directly with Bellthorne and arrange the return of the goods for a refund, but I have been unable to obtain a satisfactory resolution.

I believe the goods I received were materially not as described and that the advertising gave a misleading impression of their quality, materials and construction.

I am currently pursuing the matter through my credit card provider and have retained the advertising, product descriptions, photographs of the goods received and all correspondence with Bellthorne as evidence.

Based on my own experience, I would urge potential customers to exercise considerable caution before purchasing from Bellthorne. The difference between the highly polished images and descriptions used to advertise the clothing and the quality of the goods I actually received was substantial. My experience has left me very concerned that customers could be attracted by premium-looking advertising but receive inexpensive-looking garments that do not match the description, with obtaining a refund proving difficult.

I wouldn’t even give this company 1 star but I didn’t have that option. Disgusting company, avoid it like the plague. Ordered a pair of dungarees . Dreadful awful quality, not as advertised, cheap and trashy . Tried to return them offered all sorts of 10% 20% 30%50% off another order .Told I’d have to pay £25-£30 to return it . I just want my money back . Why would I purchase another piece of rubbish that would be unwearable …… still no refund and all the condescending emails have stopped . They shouldn’t be allowed to trade !!

Am still waiting for a refund. They keep fobbing me off, advising me, my very valid claim is under review. How long is the review, I said I would email them every day (which I have) the formulated responses are amazing, they change to emulate my exchanges. Several weeks now! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SHAM COMPANY WHO ARE ALLOWED TO SCAM VIA FACEBOOK (WHO WILL NOT HELP....... FOUND THEM APPROPRIATE TO OPERATE).

Do not use this website, they should be shut down! Experienced exactly what others have reported in trying to get a full refund, it really is a joke. They are quick to take your money but not return it. Worse customer service I have experienced, they do reply but just keep offering discounted refund, which should be a full refund. Still in dispute with this awful company!!

I wouldn’t trust Bellthorne.uk I purchased 2 pairs of dungarees £50.92 from them 18/8/2026 they arrived 1/9/2026 the material is nylon cheap tat, I emailed the to say I wanted to return them, they replied with I could have 100% store credit & keep the items I refused told them I wanted a full refund then I was offered 110% store credit I again said no (you get the gist) then I was told it would cost me £25-£30 to send them back I said no way, they then offered me 10% refund to my payment method I again said no, then 20% refund I said no then 30% refund I said NO, I have now took it up as a dispute with my bank only to be told BELLTHORNE have set up a subscription out in my name and the bank said shall we put a block on it I said YES please, just wanted you all to know this company is fraudulent and out to get everyone’s money, I now have to wait for 5-8 weeks for my bank to decide if I can get my money back. 🤞

Dresses received are not good quality, very poor. Shein standard with a high price tag. Have emailed for a refund with no response. £135 totally wasted. Avoid the hassle and DO NOT order from this company. Feel completely scammed!

No stars! Should be minus five. Cheap and nasty. Breaking the law. Consumers Rights Act 2015 should get you full refund and the company pays for any return. Charge Back doesn't work either as Visa go by the company's terms and conditions despite the above mentioned Government Law. Fooling lots of customers but each small scam sale adds up to lots of profit for them. Taking this further as a matter of principle.

Don't buy, quality is poor (to say the least) and customer service is even worse. They make returns so difficult/impossible and communication is really bad. I get the impression they rely on customers getting so fed up with lack of comms and returns process that they give up. I ordered a jumper that looked high quality in the online pics, paid £40 plus postage but arrived and looked nothing like the online photos. Took me forever to work out what the returns policy was. They try and put you off by saying you have to return direct to China and pay your own returns postage even though they dispatch from UK address!!! I finally got a returns label out of them and was told my parcel would be collected from my home address but I am still waiting. I think I'm going to get a refund via my bank now. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Quite possibly the worst ecommerce experience I have had. Please do not trade with this site. The quality of the goods does not reflect that portrayed on their site. Should you wish to return your purchase under EU law, they state it needs to be returned to to China at your expense. More often than not this is cost prohibitive and they know it. In summary, lovely website and add campaigns, backed up by cowboys. Be aware and don't trade with this company would be my advise.

stars. I ordered what looked like an elegant dress but got a frumpy one. Like people in other reviews I was discouraged from returning the dress to save me money and hassle. I was offered 100% and 110% credit, 10% 20% and 30% refunds and keep the dress. At one point I was told that 30% was half my money back! They said it would cost £20 to £30 to return a dress that cost £39.95. I googled it and was told £12 to £15 and that I would need their mobile number. I had been Told the address so that I could find out cost but no number and not to return until approved. After two weeks I informed them that my credit card company were involved. I was then offered 50% refund which I accepted because I didn't think I would get the mobile number and I was thoroughly fed up. To be fair I did get the refund within a few days

Ordered dress for wife without reading reviews.
Garment arrived, not as illustrated wrong size extremely poor quality.
Patronising customer service contacted, the inititial offer 10% refund and could keep garment ( why would I, didn't fit, total rubbish), followed by 20%, then 30% refund. Should I require total refund , return item at my expense at a cost of upto £30.00 even though the error was totally their doing.
Disgusting company and one to be totally avoided!

The goods were shoddy and returns had to be sent to China. Encouraged to accept max 30% refund so in an insidious way the company is making money out of their customers. Perhaps working within the law but not a company that I would recommend. Certainly, I will not be using them again.

Beware of this scam company! Their website says that they offer a 30-day refund policy, but this is a lie. They offer only 10%, then 20%, then 30% "final offer" - unless you spend £20-25 to send the item back to China, and then they say they will refund the purchase price. Shoddy dress that didn't fit, and abysmal customer service.

This company is a scam. Poor shoddy goods with no viable option to refund .

I normally read reviews before buying from a new company but sadly on this occasion I didn’t. The name features UK and the website gives the distinct impression it’s uk based but it’s china based which means the dungarees I ordered took three weeks to arrive but unfortunately were so disappointing when they eventually did. Cheap, flimsy nylon, poor stitching and nothing like the pictures, not something I would ever want to wear.As other reviewers have said they won’t consider a refund unless you ship them back to china at your own expense so I decided to cut my losses and chalk it up to experience. Don’t make the same mistake!

Awful company .. wish I’d read these reviews before purchasing! Hideous quality .. cheap material, awful stitching .. nothing like pictures! A shame as it means honest online companies will lose business, as I for one will not be buying from business I don’t know!

BellthorneUK Orders NOT received in full. Items I did receive were of VERY poor quality. Not even fit to use as dusters. Total rip off! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY !

Read their returns policy carefully. If you don’t like the item and I didn’t, they will offer an alternative but the most refund you can get is 30%. The dungarees I ordered do not look like those advertised. The fabric is flimsy and a very large print . I offered to return the item but of course the return is to China . Still I was offered only 30% refund . In the end I opted for a smaller size so that I had something for my money . The smaller size arrived but I doubt I’ll ever wear them .

Do not use this company. The 30 day money back guarantee doesn't exist. The item was cheap & looked nothing like the advertised goods. The return address is in China NOT UK. Which the customer has to pay for. I've been waiting for 2 weeks for my return to be authorized, after receiving discount offers of up to 30% off. This company are an absolute joke and scammers. You've been warned. Facebook should take some responsibility as they were advertising on their site.

Ordered some dungarees and waited weeks for it to arrive when they did the quality was atrocious poorly printed nylon with the pattern not matching and terrible stitching with threads hanging off. 30 emails back and forth to try and get a refund still nothing but excuses.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
