Extremely Disappointing Experience – No Interest in Keeping Customers Happy
I was genuinely excited to purchase from Aje and bought three handbags as soon as the Black Friday sale went live. Less than nine hours later, they added an extra 25% off. I contacted them twice with no response.
When I received their automated request for feedback, I explained my disappointment and asked them to review my order, as the total difference was almost $200 within 24 hours of the sale going live. I finally received a response telling me to return the items and repurchase them at the new price. This made no sense – aside from the inconvenience and the unnecessary trip to the post office, the carbon footprint alone is completely avoidable.
I wrote back requesting a refund of the difference, but this was immediately shut down. It’s very clear they’re not interested in keeping their customers happy or doing the right thing by loyal shoppers.
Such a shame. This experience has genuinely put me off wanting to be a customer in future and I have also not only shared my experience with friends but colleagues alike.
Don't Refund, Terrible Quality
After trying to return an in-store purchase I was informed that they don't do a refund, only store credit. When I tried to contact head office no one responded after I asked multiple questions. I emailed 4 times and called 3 times and left messages. Avoid shopping here as the DON'T OFFER REFUND. Also the zip is of terrible quality and constantly jams up.

Customer Service isn't dead at AJE
I had the most wonderful shopping experience at the AJE Carindale store thanks to the lovely Emily. She is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, she couldn’t do enough for me. Her knowledge, patience, and genuine enthusiasm made the entire visit a pleasure.
Emily explained the story behind AJE’s female-designed prints and how they scale beautifully across different sizes — something I’d never had explained before. Her passion for what she’s studying in digital marketing really shines through in the way she communicates and connects.
Because of her incredible help, I ended up leaving with two dresses, two linen tops, and a pair of linen shorts — and I’m thrilled with every piece.
What a refreshing change to experience such thoughtful, attentive, and friendly customer service. Emily is truly amazing, and AJE is very lucky to have her!

please dont buy, they will steal your money, if youre not happy with the product, they wont refund, they just give you voucher, if you want to purchase again and try to use the voucher, there is no easy process to enter your voucher, it says please press this button to proceed to payment, as soon as you press, its says thank you for your order ( they took your money already) with out giving a chance to cancel your order.

Wish there was an option for 0 stars. I bought a dress from Aje that said 'dry clean only', after one professional clean (exactly as instructed), the entire hemline frayed and the dress was ruined. I contacted their customer service multiple times, but they refused any refund, replacement, or compensation, blaming 'wear and tear' and hiding behind a made-up six-month policy that doesn’t exist on their website.
I’ve since filed reports with the ACCC and Fair Trading Queensland and am escalating this further. Absolutely appalling service for such an expensive brand.

Poor quality
Poor quality, not worth the price tag. Bought an Aje bag, and it didn’t last long for the price. The strap started breaking, I didn’t even use the bag that much. Wouldn’t buy this brand again. I contacted their customer care and sent photos only to be told they don’t do anything about product quality beyond 6 months. If I wanted a bag that only lasted 6 months, I could have saved myself a lot of money, very disappointing experience.
Be careful when ordering
I ordered from this brand in the UK and was charged import taxes and duties at checkout. Unfortunately the item did not fit, so I returned it. The brand processed a refund but withheld the tax and duties.
What was never made clear at the point of sale is that these amounts are paid directly to HMRC via the courier and cannot be refunded by the retailer unless they have a proper reclaim system in place. Instead, I was left out of pocket and had to research HMRC’s reclaim process myself.
While the product itself was fine, the customer experience is very poor. For UK customers, this feels misleading: you are led to believe you are paying the brand, when in fact you are also paying taxes which will not come back automatically if you need to return an item.
A company selling internationally should take responsibility for either refunding duties themselves or, at the very least, making the position completely transparent upfront. I would not order again until they improve this process.

I used their sizing guide and it was completely wrong and too big. They want to charge $15 to return it, won’t swap for correct size and will only give me a store credit.

Horrendous customer service
Horrendous customer service. Took a month to respond. Very unhelpful. I bought expensive leggings that had holes starting in them after a couple of wears. I have $15 target leggings that are better quality. Should have listened to friends about their very poor quality.

I have been emailing them trying to return a jumper and its impossible. They haven't even seen the jumper and told me its how I have washed it and they are not accepting my return.
I'm 45! I know how to read care instructions.
It's easier dealing with myer, cotton on and decjuba, actually any other company than aje.

After reviewing your case and the condition of the garment, we have determined that the pilling/shedding you’re experiencing is consistent with the item being laundered in a way that is not in line with the care instructions and unfortunately shedding is not considered a manufacturing fault. As the garment has not been cared for in accordance with these instructions, we will not be accepting a return or offering a refund.
We do want to ensure you get the most out of your piece, so I’d recommend laundering it only on a cold wash moving forward and using a garment comb to gently remove existing pilling, which can greatly improve the fabric’s appearance.
I appreciate your understanding in this matter. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions about care or garment maintenance.

I tried to cancel the order before it had processed the order, I even switched the computer off before it had taken my money but it still managed to process the order. So clever.
I didn't know I was buying from Australia as it wasn't clear until it took payment and tax and shipping suddenly was added. I tried to stop payment but literally I was unable to stop the payment going through. I immediately told them to cancel the order 1 second after it had happened by e-mail, phone, on their sight. I explained it was for a wedding in 8 days time. they told me 4 days later they where unable to help. 6 days later the informed me i could try to cancel the courier to at least save me tax and import charges and then give me a credit note for 1/3 of the total cost so i would only loose £530 and then have to buy something again from them.
Obviously i have no means of doing this as its in transit already. Also they say 3/5 days delivery to uk but it will arrive 2 1/2 weeks exactly ( just after the wedding).
It is an over the top expensive dress and I will have no use for it after the wedding.
I have never left a bad review in my life. The time I have spent on this terrible loss is ridiculous trying to resolve it. They could just have cancelled the order? but they refused. I have never experienced this before. As a consumer on line this gives me confidence that we are all human and we make mistakes but that there is another human on the other side that will help rectify this.
It made me smile to see all these terrible reviews on here and everywhere, They obviously don't care. Its not just me.

I buy so many items online from AJE. A pair of shorts have not arrived and it’s well iver over one month. They said they were looking into it but after sending 5 emails for a reply over the month(I asked for even a refund!!) and nothing.. just a very unprofessional way to run their business. AU post has had the same status for weeks “label created by sender”.. so clearly the shorts were never sent!!!
Non existent customer service
Non existent customer service. RUDE staff who don’t have the time to assist when their items are falling apart after one wear. They don’t care about consumer rights and don’t stick by their shonky products. Don’t waste your money
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I was mischarged for shipping and emailed them to get a refund. They took days to respond, then said, thanks for letting us know, we'll make sure to not let this happen in the future! I'm sorry, what??? Admitting you made a mistake but not making it right with a refund...that's just blatant theft. I have continued to email them to get the problem sorted and they have stopped responding. So awful, save yourself the headache and money down the drain and do not shop here.
Received not the size I ordered, no reply from customer service!
I ordered shorts in size 4 but received size 16 instead. Emailed them twice to get them to send me the correct size or refund, it’s been a week and no response. Fb messenger tells you to contact them via email. Again, no reply. Such beautiful brand and such terrible customer service, how is it even possible? It’s like dealing with scammers. I will NOT be shopping with them again.

Today I had the pleasure of Telephoning the Auckland Store and spoke to both Georgie and Shania, they were both so helpful, caring and going the extra mile. This was service that I will remember for a long time. Keep up your great work girls... you rock!

I have been loyal customer for over 5 years. And I bought 6 items in store. One has a stain, a faulty product which I discovered the next day. One is a bad fit. When I returned to store only the next day to demand a return (one is a full price one is on 30% off sale) I was outright rejected and they told me they do not offer any in store return or exchange for change of mind. And that they’re was a tiny glass board that has this policy written on it. ridiculous. No one told me when I paid and who would look for a small glass brick and read what’s on it if no one directed you?????? So i only got a store credit with a fast expiry date for the full price item. And nothing at all for the sale top, not even an exchange for a different size. Called customer service they absolutely don’t pick up your call, and on the website the live chat button is fake, they don’t reply your emails.

Needed to exchange a recent purchase for a different size. Spoke to Savannah from the Pacific Fair store, re the process and she was unbelievably helpful, friendly & professional. Did the size exchange in store today and the service was excellent from the moment I arrived. My garment was steamed and beautifully placed in a garment bag! Such a wonderful experience, especially for an older customer who is used to being looked past. THANKS Aje!
