I messaged this company to carry out a simple job of disconnecting my gas hob. Someone rang me the next day and said they could send someone round within an hour. Over six hours later two men turned up and carried out the work which lasted no more than 10 minutes. Whilst they were there another person rang to ask if they had carried out the work. I said yes. He said the bill would be £390.i thought it was a joke and told him he was taking the p##s He became condescending and patronising and told me i was being rude. I said i wasn't paying it. So he reduced it by £10. Eventually after much discussion i ended up paying the 2 men and said i would be getting in touch with trading standards. I wish now i hadn't paid it and told them to clear off. Please stay away from these rip off merchants. Regards Frank Durham

Do not use, lie on the phone. Technicians will not give you a price, saying I work for the company. Company rang with bill, refused to pay it. They mentioned materials, I told them I could get them for £2, they wanted to charge me £35, for two items. My estimate was too much, I understand they have to make a profit but x10 is a rip off. They boast a 4.8 rating on one review site,ignore it. If I had seen these reviews, I wouldn't have bothered. Anyway I refused to pay, I told them to take me to court, they offered two discounts, I still refused. I told them what I thought the job was worth, and we agreed a price, £144 lower than what they wanted. Still more than I wanted to pay, but it could have been worse. I had to laugh to myself when they asked if I was paying cash or bank transfer, I said neither at that price.
Regarding the reply, the engineer didn't give any quote, I had a quote over the phone for the callout fee. I asked the engineer/technician for a rough estimate, he couldn't give one. This is a standard reply, not really read my concerns. Discount on next job, like I'm going to use them again

I called them to book for an emergency. I called them back shortly after to cancel having read their terrible reviews. They demanded a £49 cancellation fee and claimed they'd told me about this in advance (I have no recollection of being told), I paid, reluctantly. They have not sent me a receipt and have given no written assurance that they have both cancelled and will charge nothing else. They are not answering my emails about it either.

Total cowboys.

This is a scam, do not use! All my power went off, I was told the cost to send someone out was £49 plus parts & labour. The electrician turned up, took 2 minutes to tell me that the problem was external. Then charged me £280! No parts were purchased & no work took place.

They will ask you for more than £500 to do a simple job once you booked them. Completely ridiculous, ripping off, avoid them at all costs. You will have to pay the £49 call out anyway. I will take all legal actions against them.

Charged my 84 year old mother 500 pounds for 2 hours of bull needs closing down . The price was not quoted upfront.

UPDATE (04.10.2026): After giving 247 BES until COB Friday 4th October to refund me the £305 they never declared prior to works being undertaken (again, a breach of the Consumer Rights Act), I have reached out to Trading Standards with an update. Also, having re-reviewed the website, 247 BES has made more fraudulent claims they cannot substantiate: that they have a ‘star rating’ of 4.8 and their ‘happy clients’ exceed 130,000. There is nothing online to support either.

UPDATE (02.10.2024): Today, ‘Sophie’ at 247 BES sent me a response to my email. Contrary to what I was told by them over the phone after hearing I owed them £354 for less than 45 minutes’ work, they have now provided me with an invoice (not by the plumber, Fair & Flexible Plumbing and Heating Ltd from Stourbridge). The invoice states: £49 ‘call-out’ and £335 ‘Labor Emergency Attendance’. You’ll note that labour has been spelt the ‘American’ way, so this company is definitely overseas as no English/British company would state ‘labour’ in an invoice. Given they have ignored my request for a charge indicative of the current marketplace, I am progressing with Trading Standards and will be taking civil action against this company regardless of where in the world they are trading from (most likely India or China). They think they can hide behind the internet and a phone call? They can’t.

TODAY’S UPDATE (30.09.2024): neither 247 BES nor their ‘Technician’, Fair & Flexible Plumbing and Heating Ltd based in Stourbridge has responded to my emails: 247 BES told me so-called ‘Fair & Flexible’ would provide me with an itemised invoice only once I had paid their extortionate charges, and the plumber, a guy named ‘Adam’, has, repeatedly, ignored my requests for this invoice. So, no estimate or quote, no costs upfront, no transparency, no invoice. Absolute shambles exhibited by both 247 BES and ‘Fair & Flexible’. Next steps now progressing and, given some of the comments regarding older customers, I’m also reaching out to Age UK and reporting both 247BES and Fair & Flexible Plumbing and Hearing Ltd to them. These people, including their ‘Technicians’, are in clear violation of the Consumer Rights Act.

I agree entirely with so many of these Reviewers and wish I had seen them before reaching out in Panic Mode for the tiniest of jobs: I was removing a radiator to decorate behind it and the valve sheered off from the pipe.

I’m a surveyor and asset manager in the property industry and was astonished by the extremely high charges, charges that were not related to me on the phone or prior to booking. Also, nowhere on the website does it support any level of transparency of cost so, for a small job, I was told I had to pay £384. I couldn’t believe what I was being told and honestly thought a mistake had been made. I then spoke with the (fantastic and independent) plumbers who attended and they said they’d ask the company to call me back, which they did. I asked several pertinent questions and was accused of being ‘hostile’: all customer service rapidly went down the proverbial drain after that. Eventually they agreed to reduce the bill by £30, though that still left me with a charge at £354.

I would strongly urge everyone to reach out to friends, family and neighbours advising them to steer clear of this company as they really are an insult to the industry. I’m also reaching out to the RICS (I consult within the industry so I work with a lot of RICS members, managing agents and commercial landlords/property owners), as I feel that necessary. I’m also reaching out to Trading Standards as there is absolutely no justification for such a huge charge for what was, basically, draining of the system, cutting off the copper piping, reusing my existing valve, refilling the system and bleeding radiators (and all well within an hour).

Please, please, please take heed of my warning above: I’m a trustworthy source and in the industry myself. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY. EVER.

UPDATE: I’ve reviewed the Consumer Rights Act with an acquaintance of mine from a firm at Lincoln’s Inn and have spoken with trading standards with a view to taking further action against this company. Interestingly, there is no mention of it in Companies House, no company or VAT registration on the website, and the address provided on the website is to an office ‘hub’, so I assume this is a lone, small trader from their home (hubs are used when someone doesn’t want their home address or location to be identified. Could even be overseas). I have emailed the company with a view they ‘regularise’ the charges as I’m taking third party civil action against them should they choose to conduct themselves in this manner. Again, please do not touch this company as you will, quite literally, pay the price for simply wanting a job done.

If I was able to give this company zero rating I would. We had a blocked toilet (and still have) so called them out, I was told call out fee was £49 with any parts being replaced on top of this. Plumber came out and charged us £290 and we still have the blockage. Family member was there and paid up as it was emptying very, very slowly and was told it will clear with cleaner and boiling water, sadly he was wrong and gave us incorrect advice. Phoned up the next day and complained to advisor, I was then told he would get hold of the plumber that came out and call me back, I am still waiting for a call back. Put in two complaints and still no reply. Having read many reviews, I have to agree with what they said as we had same poor customer service experience and incorrect information around costs, as there is a big difference between £49 and £290 for very little work, and no replacement parts. Totally dissatisfied with level of service and will not use this company in future. I will be seeking advice from trading standards on what action I need to take.

Update. We had feedback from the complaints department. Offered to send out another technician to sort issue out, at a further cost to us. Really, I don't think so. We have sorted the issue out ourselves now. Please read the reviews on this site before you engage with this company.

Had an electrical emergency (water leaking into fuse box) and did a rush job of trying to find an emergency electrician. These guys have a good website and 30 minute call out and local phone number so in my harried state went for it.

First issue was that I was clearly connected to a foreign call centre. Next issue was the £49 call out fee - that is a very cheap cost (clearly to reel people in). Then when I looked at the website, the copy is very poorly written, written by Ai or a non- English speaker.

Clearly this is a (likely) Chinese front company, and it was already an hour with no electrician in sight. I called to cancel the job and the woman started yelling at me down the phone that I couldn't cancel and they had already sent someone out (this was not true - the electrician contacted me after another 30 minutes saying he was still an hour away). Trading standard really need to get a grip on sham companies like this, they are such a waste of time and money. AVOID!

If I could give this company no stars I would. I booked a call out for a leaking shower. They told me it would be £49 I asked if I didn’t want the repair would I be changed anything else and they said no. The guys came quotes me £500 (could have just bought a new shower and it would have been cheaper) I declined for it to be fixed they have be a bill for £120. The guys was here less than 10mins. I complained they said it was a diagnostic fee, they didn’t tell me this when I asked them the price or if I would be charged anything else they said no. I complained they gave me 10% off my next repair. Told them I would never use them again and I wanted a refund, they refused asked for a manger they apparently don’t have managers or anyone else I could complain too. Didn’t even get an apology. I am going to take this further as there website says call out fee and engineer will quote you repair then goes on to say there are no hidden fees… lies. I will be complaining to teading standards and anyone else I can DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I wish I could give 0 star ! Scam ! Told you over the phone that it was £49 call out service . After engineer here for less than half hours , nothing was fixed the bill is £220 . labour for half hour cost £170 !!! I will report them to trading standard! Please avoid this company with any cost ! The girl one the phone called Grace ! I think she should be called disgrace instead ! Lair company !

Do not use this company, they are con men and scammers!!!
I had an emergency with my toilet, the mechanism inside the cistern needed replacing (no flush and water kept running)
Plumber arrived in a couple hours, fixed the toilet (although left scratches in the bath where he'd put the cistern) and cleaned up
He called the company, described what work he had done, and then the company rang me with the price for the job ( I know, all very strange, but it's a rip off, as I was about to discover) £400.00!
When I questioned the price, he said I could pay cash or transfer, got quite arsey, and put the phone down on me
Meanwhile the plumber is waiting to give me the details of company account, (he probably gets paid a fraction of that) absolute extortion/rip off
I don't know why they would do this, obviously will NEVER use them again!

So I've had a reply from the company apologising for ANY CONFUSION about the costs. There was no confusion and they were NOT transparent. I was told about the £49 call out fee, but not their extortionate rates, the plumber had no idea how much the job would cost as it was the company who gave him the job that decides how much they charge
Anyway, I was offered a discount on my next job 🤣 as a goodwill gesture! Obviously won't be taking them up on this offer. It is a shame, if they hadn't have robbed me in the first place, I might have actually used them again 🤷‍♀️

If I could select less than 1 star I would! Absolute Con / Scam - Please DO NOT use this company. £349 to stop a toilet flushing.. 15 min job. Demanding when I will pay the “invoice”…which is sent from a personal email; does not detail the work done; and includes no reference to payment terms. At this point it is too late as I am being told I have to pay, I asked for some time to sort my money…& later started to receive aggressive texts asking when the money was being transferred.
I phoned the company who were clearly “skilled” at dealing with this…as they simply didn’t care.
Not only did they take my money, but they ruined my day and left me feeling incredibly upset.
247 - do not respond with your standard message against other reviews here. Do something decent and respond with action - I.e refunding money.
Also - the flush isn’t even fixed properly!!!!!

I went to fit an LED replacement light in our bathroom, to find the fittings had changed, and I couldn't yet 3 plastic tabs to bite the wires. I called and the explanation was £39 call out plus labour charges. Electrician attended and had the light fitted in about 10 minutes, when he was there I said about 4 other LED swap outs with the same tabs, which he did at about 5 to 10 mins each, so was here an hour. The bill came through...£1025 which I disputed and they would not budget saying the costs explained up front. I said no Electrician charges £1000 an hour even on emergency call out rates. I asked the Electrician, he said he get £130 for the job. They charged me £25 for a connector used, which Electrician provided, which he said costs £1.50 which he would get back. The breakdown in bill is per job so £139 plus VAT per light (which cost £10 each). So not labour charges as explained at beginning. We paid due to having kids and wanting to keep them safe as the company are very dodgy. When speaking to them again about partial refund, with view of trading standards or going to court, they have no address, I rang a mobile, they rang back on different mobile, the invoice address is a different mobile. Still pursuing a legal route through trading standards and a solicitor but couldn't advise AVOID AVOID AVOID more. I actually feel for the Electrician who said the company make money off him sub working and thought it may even be as high as £300 but the job was really in total as £150 with all lights.

Unfortunately my brother discovered a leak under the kitchen sink of my flat while staying over that was causing water to spew all over the floor. It was effectively a torrent and didn't seem to be stopping so in a a panic he called this company to attend as I had gone out to the shops.

When he got through to me I had a quick Google and realised how horrendous the reviews were. I then called them to cancel the call out and went to get a local plumber so trusted as I managed to stop the water myself in interim.

When I called I got through to a woman who seemed pleasant until I told her we no longer needed their services. Things then changed very quickly as she insisted they needed to come out to 'check the work'. I said that wasn't needed and then she started insisting I pay a 50 pounds 'booking fee', something never mentioned when my brother called initially.

When I said 'what am I paying for, no one has come out, there's nothing to pay for' she kept insisting I paid. I responded 'what it I don't pay?' and she said word for word 'you wouldn't like to find out'. Shocked I asked did that constitute a threat and she immediately started trying to back down and then I hung up the phone.

Avoid, avoid, avoid - as a grown man I was not intimidated but I could easily see someone less confident in dealing with these situations being pressured into paying a fee for nothing.

Absolutely appalling company. This is an absolute con. I am kicking myself for not having done some research ahead of time. Had I seen these reviews, absolutely would not have used them.

I bungled changing out a light socket so I called the company based on what popped up in Google. The electrician changed out the light socket and then two more.

77 minutes overall and then I get hit with a...339GBP bill?!?! I could not believe my ears.

I called to complain and Liam was completely non-responsive. Obviously gets these calls frequently and is aware this is an absolute con.

It's on me that I didn't research a bit ahead of time, but hopefully no one else ever uses this company.

(I should note that the 3rd-party contractor was great...unfortunately, I imagine he is going to get a very small slice of that fat fee...).

Absolute con artists of the highest order. Called for an emergency drainage technician who called and told me they don't have the equipment for what I need and gave me the name of a company that do. I called them immediately and booked them to come out. This company then called me back off a different number trying to tell me they were on their way to fix the problem. I told them I'd already booked someone else on their advice and they told me I'd got to pay a 50 pound cancellation fee. When they are the ones that cancelled!!! Lady on the phone was rude and shouting at me trying to get me to give my 16 digits card number then hung up when I told her no.

I so wish I'd looked at Trust Pilot First. These guys have been sued for false and misleading reviews, which says it all.

I made a drip-drip leak under a hand sink far worse due to my own ineptitude! Had to turn the water off and but wasn't going to call a Plumber on a Sunday.

Monday comes around, usual plumber couldn't make it, so called these guys. As per other reviews, £50 for a timely response, which I was fine with. Lovely chap (3rd party contractor) rocks up and replaces a 6" right angled plastic pipe in less than 15 minutes.

He then calls "the office", who in turn ring me - first making sure I was happy with the service, then using that as an argument to demand £320!!!
What the actual hell? I made it abundantly clear they could take me to court instead, because I am NOT paying that price. So they dropped the call out charge... no, £270 is still unacceptable. Utterly disgusting.

They argued that they had to cancel the plumbers entire schedule to accommodate me. To which I said, "I never asked you to. You wanted £50 for a call out charge and I'm fine with that".

Anyway, long story short - the plumber was still sat in his van at this point and agreed the charge was extortionate; phoned his gaffer and I ended up paying £185 directly to them. Still steep, but whatever - better than £320.
