Human beings please.
After using 1Passport for a very long time I was informed that I would lose access to my passwords unless I took out an annual subscription, which I was in the process of doing when their system refused to accept my password and locked me out. If I had been allowed to talk to a human being with a modicum of common sense I am sure that I could have been told how to renew my password within a few minutes. Instead 1Password's customer services department sent me 12 automated emails which were unhelpful and did nothing to solve my problem. Luckily I had a back up password protection platform which I have now transferred to. The alternative would have been for me to reissue over 100 new passwords which 1Password refused access to. If you ever encounter any problems with your account do not expect any meaningful help in solving the problem.

1password provides a secure and seamless experience whenever and wherever you have password needs. Ive had this app on my phone, and browser for about two years on the family plan. It is especially useful for your family members who do not care much about security and need something easy to understand. This is one of the few products out there that work so well in general.
Owned by VC scum and it shows
I have been a customer for probably close to 10 years and finally got my parents to start using 1P about a year ago after a lengthy struggle. Two weeks ago I reached out to support with a question about a promo code and the only response I have gotten, multiple times, is 'do you still need assistance with this?' and not so much as a single comment about my question.
When I posted a question about customer support on their subreddit, 1PasswordCS-Blake replied with the typical BS 'we are experiencing higher support volume'. I would be more understanding if the reply from support actually addressed what I asked rather than repeatedly ask if I still need assistance.
Bitwarden is $10 a year and seems like a great replacement. Go give that a try.

Absolutely terible -> no finger id (why???), custom requirements to the password that no other side needs and no flow to recover your password created by imaginary requirements if due to some reason you forget it

If I could give zero stars I would. I set up an account but I've forgotten the password - my fault entirely but I contacted support to delete my account and cancel my subscription but despite numerous support tickets and emails sent, I am still no further forward. No-one has got back to me to acknowledge my problem or offer a solution. Shockingly bad customer service, the worst I've encountered.

After over a week of me trying to get in touch, I finally got a response to say my subscription has been cancelled and I was able to delete my account.

全く使えないというのは、新しいサービスのアカウントを作れないだけでなく、今使っているWebサイトのログインもできなくなるという致命的なもので、生活に大きな支障が出ました。
当然サポートからの補償は無し。それでも使う人は、本当にストレスフルなサポート体制であることを覚悟してお金を払ってください。

There have been problems for years for two main reasons
- lots of competition between system/browser and 1password to control inputs on websites.
- 1password just being dog slow on safari
And rather than tackle these issues 1Password jacked up their prices by 20% or more with some crap about adding AI (that literally no one asked for)

Wir haben das Programm eingeführt und die Usability für den Anwender ist eine Vollkatastrophe. De facto ist es inkompatibel zB mit Mozilla Firefox. Es können zwar Passwörter gespeichert werden, diese können aber mangels Zugriff nicht wieder automatisch aufgerufen werden (das Programm verweist auf ein nicht existierendes Icon!), so dass der User seine Passwörter ggfls. auf einen Zettel notiert. 1Password initiiert somit mMn die maximale Unsicherheit im Unternehmen, da für den Anwender zu komplex.

Dann doch lieber zu einem anderen Anbieter wechseln, wenn 1password derartig utopische Preissprünge für angemessen hält.

it was good before they started increasing the price by a whole 30% for existing long term subscribers. atrociously greedy. This should be straight illegal. They do it once, they will do it again. and again.
They decided to harm their own long term customers I will not be using this product anymore.

What used to feel like a thoughtfully crafted product built by people who cared about users has gradually turned into something that feels driven by corporate growth targets.
The shift to web-based technology marked a turning point. Performance declined. What was once elegant is now frustrating.
Then came the price increases... and questionable product decisions (including AI integrations inside a password manager).
It’s not just about cost. It’s about culture. The product no longer reflects the values that made it great.
For longtime users, that’s the hardest part.
Never again.
Excellent Product, But Aggressive Price Increases Are Hard to Ignore
I’ve been a 1Password customer for three years and, in terms of functionality and usability, it’s a strong product. It was a clear improvement over LastPass for me, particularly given the security concerns surrounding that platform at the time.
However, I’ve just received notice that my annual price is increasing from $35.88 to $47.88 — a 33% rise in a single year. Over the past three years, my subscription cost has increased by 122%. That level of escalation is difficult to justify.
Password managers aren’t something you switch casually. Once you’ve migrated hundreds of logins and embedded them across devices, browsers, and workflows, moving elsewhere becomes a significant task. That makes sharp price increases feel particularly uncomfortable, as customers are effectively locked in by the time substantial rises occur.
It’s disappointing, because the platform itself is genuinely very good. If pricing had increased gradually and proportionately, I’d have no hesitation recommending it. But steep hikes over a short period change the overall value proposition.
For now, I have to rate it 2 out of 5 — not because of the product quality, but because of the pricing trajectory. New users should be aware that the entry price may not reflect what you’ll be paying a few years down the line.
