Yampu was recommended to me by a friend a couple of years ago and I have been enormously satisfied with the two trips that they planned for me over the past two years. The first was a two week trip to Argentina and Chile, with the highlight being the four days we spent in Patagonia. All of our hotels were terrific and our guides excellent. This January, they planned an 8 day trip to both the wine country and the Atacama Desert for two of us . Again, everything worked beautifully, from our transfers, hotels, etc.

Our agent Stephanie was the best!!!
We were going to several countries in Africa and she made sure our trip was safe, comfortable and loaded with lots of fun.
We had trusted tour companies and interesting guides. We always felt we were in good hands.
Once one of our connecting flights was late and she already knew it and took care of the issue and us!
We have used Stephanie twice now. Once in South America and once in Africa. Our trips were fun and so memorable.

Great trip to Peru. Very responsive staff.

The trip was well one to be remembered for a life time. Stephanie organized the trip to South Africa and we will recommend her to others interested in a well organized and enjoyable adventure.

Yampu scores high on the level of care and accountability to customers. Everything from airport and point to point transfers, quality of hotels and guides to emergency access was done really well. Overall the service provided was reliable, assuring and value for money. I also appreciate Karolina for being so responsive as always be it a mail to help us streamline payment proceedings to matters involving lost and found queries mid-way during my trip!

However, there is some room for improvement. These include the following-

1. Some domestic flight sectors within Argentina did not have any kind of inflight service (meals and drinks) provided. Coming from Asia (where short sectors are given light refreshments), we were shocked by this and went hungry on the plane. This must be briefed to passengers. We could have bought some food on-board if we knew.

2. The hike to Fitz Roy require extensive preparation in terms of clothing and layering. We were inadequately prepared. While the guide was thoroughly professional and caring throughout the trip, she should be empowered to do a thorough check on travelers first and to please feel free to make immediate recommendations on site. There were many shops in El Chaltern which provide rental of hiking equipment and clothes and even shoes. We could have been given advice to gear up further on site. That would have made a huge difference to our hiking experience. This aspect (checks and provision of on-site advice and intervention for travelers in addition to type of hiking terrain and rapid changes to weather- 4 seasons in one day!) could be better addressed and explained in itinerary to better prepare travelers.

3. The coach transfer from El Calafate airport to El Chaltern and back was not consistent in terms of comfort and standards. We were squeezed into a small van with many travelers for the first (and the distance was really long) while the return trip to airport had a huge and luxurious bus that took us back to airport. We would appreciate some explanation on that.

Nonetheless, the above does not diminish the wonderful communication we had with the head office as well as other touring experiences provided by the company. I would still recommend Yampu to my friends and will not hesitate to engage their services again.

Carolina was really helpful and responsive. She arranged and took care of everything for us. We had a great time in Israel and Jordan!

The hike to Waynapicchu was a tough one - glad we had a guide that looked after us.

Our trip from Tokyo, Fuji, Takayama and Kyoto was fabulous. Guides were terrific, itinerary was well balanced but packed with things of interest, and the hotels were uniformly very high quality. I feel that we were closely taken care of from start to finish, from transportation to knowledgeable guides, without having to worry about any details. This level of care, and the thought that went into our itinerary, insured a magnificent trip from start to finish. I highly recommend Yampu Tours.

We had an amazing three weeks without a glitch. Every transfer took place on time. Our activities were conducted by knowledgeable and pleasant guides. That proved true for the entire 21 days.
The is the second time that I have traveled in South America under the wing of Karolina Guilcapi. She was always accurate, price conscious, and patient with our alterations.
Since returning from Patagonia, I and my travel companions have recommended Yampu and Karolina multiple time.

The itinerary to South Africa was super and the arrangement was trouble free. Everything happened on time. The stay in the Safaris was awesome. Thanks to Karolina Guilcapi who made our trip so pleasant.

Our recent trip to remote Easter Island was the third vacation we've organized though Karolina Guilcapi of Yampu. The island comprises only 63 square miles, so you might think it would be easy to do things on your own, but there's much to see, and accommodation alternatives, that should be left to experts who have been there. What's great about Yampu is that they customize your trip based on your interests, schedule and budget. We had no idea what island excursions to schedule, so all those decisions were left up to Karolina who, as always, did a great job setting up the four day itinerary, selecting a hotel, and retaining a guide. Everything from the flights to and from Santiago (arranged by Yampu) went smoothly as planned, with their people always on time to meet us and take us on our next daily adventure. We even had a minor incident with being overcharged at a local market that our guide promptly corrected. If you prefer travel outside of group tours, but like my wife and I are inclined to depend on people "in the know" for advice, recommendations and reservations, we don't think you can do any better than Yampu. They are indeed a five star operation!

Karolina was very good and receptive to all tour directions. I recommend Yampu.

I really enjoyed my trip with them

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Yampu travel. We hiked the Inca trail to the Sun Gate and Manchu Picchu with Roger as our guide. He was with us for 5 days, gradually increasing our hiking time to acclimate us to the altitude and getting us ready for the trail. We then traveled to Lake Titicca with Jose as our guide. That was also fabulous. I would highly recommend Yampu for first class travel.

Karolina Guilcapi is a pleasure to work with, creative, responsive, a good communicator.Her ideas are a great mix that cover all the major sites and some out-of-the-way spots that few know about. She plans each trip as if it was for her own enjoyment. I consider her an integral part of my agency team.
