Great being able to use an app to show when you are or are not available so that you don’t have to answer calls and refuse work. Because you are unavailable. Would love to have more local schools on board to offer short term work . As a semi retired educator I am able to keep the perfect home and work life balance

Working with Zen Educate has been a rewarding experience. I have had the opportunity to work in many outstanding schools and nurseries, where I have gained valuable experience and developed my skills. I always give my best in every setting and strive to make a positive difference for the children and the team. 4 years ago I left full time teaching and I haven’t looked back. #ZenEducate and Tom Hooper have introduced me to some fantastic schools. They are so supportive as a company. I still do the job I love ‘teaching’ without the endless bureaucracy. I now do what people think teachers do, 8.30 to 3.30. Thank you to all the schools who have made me welcome and have made me feel valued and appreciated.

I worked with Zen as a TA in Bristol for around 2 years for 2 days a week in which I found work was available at least 95% of the time. The salary is good and their app is amazing allowing me to confirm availability easily. The staff are helpful and friendly when you get through to them. Roles for longer terms also become available often although I worked on a daily supply basis due to other work commitments. The weekly pay is also an advantage.
The disadvantages of daily supply work are it is a first come, first served basis and you have to be very quick when the jobs come through which can be a bit stressful. Once you commit to a role you have to go through with it, occasionally there can be last minute cancellations. I would recommend if you work part-time or looking for something in between jobs or if you don't want to commit to permanent school roles as the flexibility is good.
Zen worked well for me during the time I was with them. At the beginning Zen used to call me on a regular basis to ask about my requirements which I missed later on. Apart from a few shortcomings I would highly recommend.

You select your availability for the week and they find you regular work. I would recommend them to everyone!

Any unfair treatment you receive from any school you work with will not only be enabled but the effect of the negative treatment will be magnified by the agency. They only care about making money, not the interests of their "employees" they won't respond to your emails and their phone number only works if they're calling you. Any attempts to speak with someone on the phone will be met with an answering machine followed by a "busy line". They do not do any of the necessary work to ensure your work environment and treatment is fair and respectable. Their communication is very
inconsistent, saying one thing then meaning another. The least communication you actually have with anyone on the Zen team the better. The more you speak to them the more you realise their true priorities lie in making as much out of you as possible and keeping schools happy. If given 10 opportunities to show they have your back, they will do so 0/10 times.

I lost my Job due to being the victim of racial discrimination and I didn’t get compensated because of policy. Their relationship with the school still exists.
Remember, it is ILLEGAL to be racist in the uk. Unless of course the victim is a 24 year old Black male Zen educate agency worker.

Zen is great at offering plenty of daily supply opportunities and doing the best to accommodate my preferences. This has made all the schools I have been in so far as positive experience.

My experience at Woodbridge Park was great because I gained valuable skills in supporting neurodivergent children and developing positive behaviour management strategies. I also appreciated the supportive environment, as the headteacher and assistant headteacher were always available to offer guidance when I faced challenging situations with students. Their encouragement and support helped me grow in confidence and become a more effective member of the team.

Avoid this agency—absolutely shocking lack of communication

This is easily one of the worst educational recruitment platforms I have ever dealt with. Communication is virtually non-existent; they never answer the phone, and voicemails and emails are consistently ignored. I strongly advise other educators to stay far away from this agency.

My assigned recruiter, Jovany Martinez, has been incredibly unprofessional, unresponsive, and dismissive of my job search. To make matters worse, I paid for a DBS check through them six weeks ago and have received absolutely no updates or follow-up since. They took my money and completely ghosted me. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.

Zen have a great help in providing jobs for me. They have taken on board my preference. And is much appreciated.

Bloody ridiculous waiting for the link can not get through on the phone there should be some form of consideration.

Very professional staff who made me feel welcome. Teachers and TAs had excellent engagement and met the pupils needs in a timely, appropriate and safe manner.

Zen are proactive and great at providing a range of supply jobs.
They listen to what the teacher wants and provide different opportunities.
The team are great at keeping in contact and once you have a good reputation with them, find the posts in your favourite schools.
Highly recommend Zen as an agency.

The whole onboarding process has been straight forward and simple to complete. Sharon has guided me expertly throughout and has also checked on me regularly.
