We have bought Yankee Candles for almost 2 decades. They used to always smell amazing which is why we justified the price. These last few years they have progressively declined. We bought our favorite scents recently, you can’t smell them beyond the candle. Whatever they have done has ruined the candles. We will no longer be buying and switching to bed bath and beyond or target candles. Makes me miss glade candles now.

Nach mehr als 20 Jahren Yankee Candle, habe ich nun die Schnauze voll.

Die Kerzen riechen kein bisschen mehr wie früher und noch dazu rußen sie jetzt extrem in den neuen Gläsern mit 2 Dochten.

Ich hatte immer Black Cherry oder Vanille, man erkennt den Geruch kaum wieder und es riecht überhaupt nicht gut.

Diese Woche Witches Brew bestellt und bin entsetzt.

Das war's. Verstehe nicht, wie man etwas, was gut war, so dermaßen ruinieren kann.

Ich habe Midsummer's Night bei Amazon gekauft,nach 10 Minuten Kopfschmerzen bekommen,trotz queer Lüften ist der Duft aufdringlich, penetrant riecht nach billigen Männerparfum und mein Wohnzimmer ist nicht klein.Klare Empfang Finger weg,der Gestank liegt immernoch in der Luft.
Ähnlich Cotton nicht zu empfehlen.
Für empfindliche Nasen ungeeignet.das es die Schleimhäute sehr stark reizt.

Uitermate slechte ervaring! Mijn bestelling is nooit geleverd en elke contactpoging (zowel gemaild als telefonisch contact geprobeerd op te nemen) bleef onbeantwoord. Plaats hier GEEN bestelling want het zijn bedriegers en je bent je geld kwijt!

It is not a outright scam company as in theory you get a product hence the 2 stars. The throw on their candles have been getting worse as worse so worse and worse products. Many of their products are meant to syphon you into the Yankee Candle brand which is a overpriced brand. I bought a candle warmer from them and when I got the package on the package it said "for use on easy melt only". The issue is a easy melt costs like 8 dollars when a wax tart from other brands costs 1 something dollars. You can buy a Mainstays candle warmer that will melt both tarts and wax for 10-15 dollars or spend a minimum of 20 dollars on a wax melt only warmer at Yankee Candle. Their scent plugs are Yankee candle specific too and a refill on a scent plug also costs 8 dollars. They claim easy returns but the closest store to me is 19 miles away 1 way and they want you to mail it in if not going to a store. If you call corporate you get a Indian person who refuses to help and only works Monday to Friday.

Awful customer service. After spending £60 on an advent calendar the wrong shipping address was added by Apple Pay. Straight away I emailed Yankee candles to ask them to rectify the mistake. They refused to do this and suggested I contact UPS, I then asked to cancel the order and asked for a refund which they refused, UPS also declined my request to change the shipping address. So my package was delivered to an address 70 miles away and I’m out of pocket by £60 and now Yankee's don’t care candles are refusing to answer my emails.

We visited the flagship store in Deerfield, Ma where we purchased 2 candles. We have bought their candles for years especially when it was privately owned. Since selling to the current company the candles have progressively gotten worse in their quality. The cinnamon stick and vanilla cupcake candles I just purchased have no scent or very little when burning. It’s so sad how much Yankee Candle has changed. Do not waste your money.

The process of reaching someone authorized to cancel my orders took so much time. I explained the same problem to approximately five different people, and none of them were able to help me. Even though I repeatedly explained that my flight had been canceled, that I would not be able to receive the package, and that the shipping company had never contacted me or responded to me in any way, they kept insisting that I needed to contact the shipping company myself.

I also clearly stated that I do not live in the United States, yet none of the representatives were willing or able to assist me. This was the last time I will shop from your company.

It seems that you are only interested in helping customers until the sale is completed. After that, there is no meaningful customer support at all.

I've been a customer of Yankee Candle for 30 years. I did instantly notice the shift in the intensity of the scent when they did their Rebrand. But I think what disturbs me even more is how my favorite scents for instance Vineyard and blueberry, Willow Breeze was a favorite from a while ago. They all get discontinued and what's even more annoying is every time I open up a PROMOTION email or text it's a brand new scent. Seriously what are you all do over there sit around and come up with new names for new scents. Lucky sweater Green grass whatever it's annoying. KISS. Keep it simple stupid. Ya'll forcing me to go to Bed Bath & Beyond.

I paid $20 for 2nd day delivery on Monday. It's Saturday and still not delivered. They'll never get my money again.

Every time Yankee Candle changes ownership their candles deteriorate more and more. Now are to the point where they seriously are not worth the money. One day they have a product and the next thing you know is it has been discontinued. The scents that remain are weak and really not worth the money. Even Walmart shoppers aren't particularly interested in them. No longer a premium brand but now an inferior brand. Time to hit the internet and find a truly quality product.

After over forty years of buying Yankee Candles I have found that the quality has deteriorated to below average meaning that a dollar store candle throws a better scent. I have given the so called new and improved formula a chance and to put it nicely THEY SUCK!!! Charging $36 for a candle that you can't even smell is highway robbery. I will never waste my money on another of the new crap Yankee Candles! The company that now owns Yankee Candle is Newell Brands. The Ceo Christopher Peterson and his money grubbing staff should be ashamed at how they have disgraced the Yankee Candle name!! They obviously don't care about the products they distribute as long as they get the money!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!

Horrible customer service.
I placed an on line order for pickup. When I drove to the store (not close to my home) I was informed I could not complete the pickup because their POS System was done and would me for an additional 4 days. When I called Yankee Candle Customer Service number I was told they could not process a return until I physically returned the item. Since I could not return an item I could not pick up, I was told I HAD TO wait 7 days and the item would be credited AFTER the 7 days.
To be blunt. They have my money and my merchandise and refuse to refuse to take the appropriate action.
This is not The Yankee Candle that I remember when I lived in Massachusetts. I will never buy YC in the future

This is what I recently wrote to Yankee Candle:
I have become dissatisfied with Yankee Candles jar candles.
I have used your candles for years; both at the holidays and in between.
This is the second time I have had the experience of the candle not lasting as long as it did in the past. The Autumn Wreath candle wicks kept going out when there was still approximately more than an inch to the bottom; the previous one was a summer scent, a Christmas scent and the same issue presented itself. In looking at the wick, I'm not sure if you are using a shorter wick or if the metal piece is higher now. Either way, I'm not getting the value for my money as I have come to expect. During the holidays, one of my guests noticed that the candle had stopped burning and indicated she noticed the same thing with her jar candles from Yankee Candle. She now purchases a different brand, located not too far from your main store/village. I have purchased mine from a variety of locations, even the village in Deerfield. I am disappointed in the quality of(or lack of quality) from a product I have come to expect to be of a higher quality. This issue of a poorer quality of product has caused you to lose two customers; I can only imagine that you have lost more. I will no longer recommend Yankee Candle to my friends/family. I, too, will be purchasing a different brand. I'm sorry that you have reached this point.

Their response was to send them photos of:
"· The front label
· The inside of the candle (wick from above and side)
· The pictogram label on the underside of the jar
· Proof of purchase (if order number is not available)
For documentation purposes, at least one image should include the case reference number 50489399 and be clearly visible in the photograph alongside the item, handwritten on a piece of paper.
Once I have received the requested details, I would be happy to look further into this matter."

I replied that I no longer had the candle, that I had discarded it and their curt response was:
" I am sorry to hear you have already thrown away the candle. Unfortunately, without pictographic evidence, I am unable to assist you further. "

Poor quality candles and poor customer service.

My first purchase of a yankee candle and I’m not happy with it. You can’t even smell it when it’s burning. The scent being sugared cinnamon apple. For the price of it I expected for it to smell more. I’ve had $13 candles that have put off a stronger scent.

They reduced the scent! It’s pretty sad when you light a big candle and it doesn’t smell. I have tried multiple scents and they are all the same. I wont buy anymore and my friends say the same. I’ll stick with Bath n Body. I’ve never had a candle from there that I didn’t like and they are much cheaper. Goodbye Yankee!

Yankee Candle has always been the standard that had a recipe that was a mystery that all candlemakers tried to duplicate. Not sure what happened but BOO to the new McIntosh. Once a favorite that was hard to find now just disappointing on all levels. Scent - 1, Burn - 1, black soot - 5, tunneling - 5. If your goal was to ruin one of the best candles if not the best then congratulations. We are going to try our second favorite, Sage & Citrus and if it also creates the Black Death effect (heavy soot) we will be done with Yankee.

I will never purchase Yankee Candles again! Absolutely no scent. Tunneling even with burning for several hours as recommended. I might be able to understand that if I had extinguished it after a short amount of time. Of course I don’t have my receipt, after months, to follow through on a request for refund. Never again!

I have recently tried the YC was melt. They are deficient in emitting the scent and it last only 1-2 hours. The wax melts and candles are not worth the high prices - don't buy!

Something changed, I have been buying yankee candles for decades. They made the house smell warm and welcoming, but things have changed. Yankee candle ups the price even more but there is little to no smell, I know what it should smell like after burning for an hour or two but can’t smell anything unless I go right up to it. Granted they do not have the tunneling problem like being but you buy them so your house has that nice warm smell. Looking somewhere else.
