Complete disaster. They cheated us all the time. Rented boat had a lot of malfunctions. Whereas boat charter was not willing to support us and moreover they required to pay extra fees for the serviceman.

Really horrible experience with Yachting in Sardinia. If you want to save yourself the trouble and money, choose another charter. Not recommended!

I had a terrible experience renting a catamaran from YIS. This company is full of liars, scammers, and money extortionists. During check-in, we discovered that one of the bathrooms had no water in toilet. They attempted to fix it but failed, leaving us without one functioning toilet throughout the entire trip. More. On the first day, the engine and water pump belts of the left engine broke down. The company's response was shocking—they claimed that as the captain, I have all the necessary tools and should have a knowledge to fix it by myself. Seriously? Am I supposed to repair the engine while on vacation, without any mechanical knowledge? I expected a well-maintained and functional catamaran, and any repairs should have been handled by the charter company with compensation for lost time. Eventually, after 4 hours, they arrived and fixed the engine and just 2h later they presented me with a bill of €640 for their assistance. I refused to pay, and they started threatening me, revoking my contract, and even involving insurance companies. Is this how professionals behave? For sure NOT! But that's not all. Another issue was the lack of water on the catamaran starting Wednesday. When I reported it, they provided me with a mechanic's number who couldn't speak English. How was I supposed to solve the problem with someone I couldn't communicate with? Eventually, the company instructed me to locate the water pump and hit it to unblock it (very professional, indeed). Unfortunately, the pump still didn't work. On Thursday evening, they asked where I was because they wanted to fix the water pump. I informed them that I was in La Maddalena but declined their assistance due to fear of being charged again. Despite that, they arrived, attempted to repair it, failed, and then handed me a bill of €320 just 2 hours later. Impressive. And there's more. On the last day, 2 hours before reaching the port, the belt of the second engine snapped. I managed to come to the port with only one engine. During check out they wanted me to sign a document stating that I caused the damage, but I refused. However, they took the entire deposit (€4,500) anyway, claiming that they had to reschedule another charter. This company lacks professionalism, fairness, and thrives on lies and deceit. I thought the negative reviews were untrue and that I wouldn't have the same experience, but I was wrong. Their yachts are not properly serviced, and sailors end up paying for the repairs and maintenance of their boats. It's shameful. Stay away from this company. Those sailors who gave YIS positive ratings probably never experienced such issues or were simply lucky… still lucky… But it is question of time AND they will be treated just like me and others whose reviews can be found below and on other social media. Beware of this company because you might be next!!

I want to share my extremely negative opinion regarding the catamaran rental company mentioned here. In my view, they are deceitful individuals who engage in dishonest practices. Right from the moment we received the catamaran, everything began to unravel. On the first day, we were unable to depart from the port because they promised to fix the flush but failed to do so, resulting in wasted time. Just an hour after setting sail, one of the engine belts suddenly snapped. We immediately contacted the company, and they sent their supposed "mechanic" who had to rely on video calls with another person for guidance. It took two hours to resolve the issue, but we lost three valuable hours of our trip. Shockingly, they then presented us with a bill of €650 for the repair, even though we had already paid a deposit and insurance that should have covered such expenses. When we refused to pay, they threatened to withdraw our authorization for further navigation.

To compound our frustrations, the water pump malfunctioned, leaving us to make makeshift repairs by fiddling with wires. It was a complete farce! For over half of our time on the boat, we had no access to running water. We made the decision to forgo additional repairs because we knew it would come at a steep cost, despite the issues not being our fault. However, the company returned to La Maddalena and made another unsuccessful attempt to fix the problem, leaving us without water still. We explicitly stated that we would not pay for further repairs, yet the following day, another bill arrived, this time demanding €350. Can you believe it? We believe we are entitled to substantial compensation for the numerous inconveniences we experienced, particularly our skipper, who had no moments of respite but was instead burdened with constant worries and phone calls due to the ongoing malfunctions.

To add insult to injury, on the day of our return to the port, another engine belt snapped. Now, they want to shift the additional costs onto us, citing their inability to rent out the catamaran for the following week. This company should not be in operation at all, and all those affiliated with it should feel ashamed for knowingly renting out poorly maintained and faulty boats, exploiting unsuspecting customers and forcing them to bear the costs of repairs. If this matter remains unresolved, we will not hesitate to seek legal assistance to address this situation.

We should get a significant compensation for all the inconveniences we faced, especially our skipper, who had no moments of rest but only constant worries and phone calls due to the ongoing malfunctions.

To top it all off, on the day of our return to the port, another engine belt snapped. Now they want to burden us with additional costs because they couldn't rent out the catamaran for the following week. This company shouldn't exist at all, and all those working for them should be ashamed of how they knowingly rent out poorly maintained and faulty boats, taking advantage of unsuspecting customers and making repairs at their expense. If this matter is not resolved, we will be discussing it with a lawyer...

a lot of issues with quite new boat 2020, dinghy engine, anchor electrical issues and of course at the end impossible underwater damage…. this is not a right way to threat experienced sailors, very insulting, I getting lawer hired if they will charge me a
dime for damages that are imaginary

As professional Skipper this company is the worst (worldwide) what I experienced ever. Like a scam car rental they accuse you of things they can not even proof, despite they track you all the time like big brother. In this case the tracking showed that there is nothing, but they still blame you and keep the deposit. Big scam!

They also work with high fines (additional to deposit) when you do something - you should be aware of before, but that is freedom of contract.

Another anoying thing is that you must anchor in front of the marina to wait for the diver in the early afternoon before you go back in the marina. Otherwise you pay additionally for a diver a high fee. At least they tell you that at the start.

But all that is not customer friendly on top of the deposit- scam!!

Never ever again!!

We chartered for 2 weeks in May 2023 (May 13th to 27th). According to the charter company, the ship was the oldest in the fleet, but in top condition.
Everything is there that you need, even the beds were made when handed over.

The charter company YiS "Yachting in Sardinia" is very good.
YiS is super organized, everyone is very friendly and professional.
Early boarding was already possible at 1:00 p.m., which was far earlier than agreed.
Check-in and check-out was quick, easy and hassle-free...we obviously went through the checklist conscientiously and of course didn't break anything during the charter period...so there wasn't much to discuss either.

YiS has designated 12 zones as "restricted areas" (each with a radius of 0.3 SM), into which you should not sail.
That's not a big issue so far, we didn't feel restricted...you have to take this into account when planning the trip and navigating.
And if you do get in, you get an SMS with a warning, so you reply and screw yourself out of the area... and that's it.

Yachting in Sardinia is a great charter company with variety of boats to choose from. The boats are very well equipped and in great condition. Our yacht Dufour 460 “Abraxan” was more than we’ve expected. Double drawer fridge, LED lighting in mess and cockpit or even a fully functional BBQ with built in sink at the stern. All tidy and very comfortable. Sails, ropes, and sailing equipment in excellent condition. I recommend this charter for all of you heading to Sardinia & Corsica.

Wij hebben als gezin (met 2 dochters) de Wanderlust (Dufour 412 GL) met bouwjaar 2019 gehuurd via agentschap Tubber uit Nederland. Ik was in eerste instantie een beetje huiverig voor Yachting in Sardinia ivm een aantal recensies hieronder en dit ook naar Tubber uitgesproken. Echter Tubber stelde mij gerust dat zij goede ervaringen hadden met Yachting in Sardinia.

Wij zijn afgelopen zaterdag terug gekomen van 2 weken vakantie met een heerlijke, fijne zeilboot. De uitrusting was tot op de detail in orde en het schip is schoon en netjes opgeleverd.

Het team van YiS is ons zeer goed bevallen. Vriendelijk, behulpzaam en professioneel. Het gehele traject (proces) van het begin tot het einde werd goed uitgelegd en is goed terug te lezen in de informatie die werd meegegeven. Ook is er makkelijk en prettig tussentijds contact via mail en Whatsapp/SMS.

Complimenten aan Fabrizio (technische man). Een vriendelijke en prettige man. Helpt direct en behulpzaam bij vragen.

Wij komen zeker terug. 100 punten voor deze organisatie en ook voor het agentschap Tubber die vanuit Nederland de bemiddeling deed met YiS.

Hands down the worst experience I had as a professional skipper working for 10y in the med.
14cm cut in the dingy resulted in a loss of 2.600euro
First the company charged me for a new dingy (1.200 euro) because they said that the damage was irreparable (something that could be fixed at the charter base with 80 euro).
When I refused to pay for the new dingy, we agreed on written basis that I would have a professional coming, picking up the dingy, doing a professional repair and delivering it back repaired on my expenses (700 euro in total, however half the price than a new dingy).
Once the dingy was delivered with the reparation don at sate of the art, the charter just wrote that the repair was not good and they withdraw 4.500 euro from my credit card without permission (they had frozen previously the security depo from the boat).
The whole story ended through lawyers and 6 months of struggling.
Watch out ad my colleagues skippers all had bad events with them.
They charge you for everything, even a 20 minutes delay.
Dishonest, bad, unreliable! Never ever again.

Wir sind mit diesem Vercharterer sehr unzufrieden gewesen. Die Lage des Bootssteges ist eine Zumutung. Für das bestellte Proviant gab es keinen Beleg. Am schlimmsten war, daß wir einen Miniunfall gemeldet haben - und dann wirklich genötigt wurden 500,- € Bearbeitungsgebühr vorab zu zahlen - das war wirklich Telefonterror und 2 total versaute Urlaubstage. Von dem Schaden habe ich nie wieder etwas gehört, keine Abrechnung oder irgendwas nur die 500 € sind weg. Ich würde eigentlich nur 1 Punkt vergeben muß aber zugeben, daß das Boot sehr schön war und gut ausgestattet war. Dort buchen würde ich aber wegen der Behandlung nie wieder.

Very nice and helpful staf in office and marina di Portisco. Abraxan is a very brave yacht. Dont afraid to book a charter.

Having chartered through various agencies in different destinations, YIS stands out with top quality vessels, stellar maintenance, and great on-trip assistance. Compared to other fleets in the area, the YIS boats stand out in a good way. I look forward to chartering with them again.

We used the Services of this company two weeks ago and unfortunately despite the fact that the holidays were fine, cooperation with YIS is not necessarily so. I warn everyone who want to rent a Dufour 470 (POTTER) that this boat is not 100% efficient.
Honestly, it looks as from the beginning of the season they have been trying to bring it to usefulness but they are still running out of time because they let this boat out on the first charter too early.
The disadvantages of the boat:
- NO BOW THRUSTER - the Company informed me at check in about that the bow THRUSTER isn't work and they found out about it the day before. Why i do not believe them? Because they told me later that the thruster had been disassembled and put under warranty. So they had to do it much earlier because Italisans are not that fast.
- Defective electrial installation!!!
- solar panels were there that's truth but xD THEY WERE NOT CONNECTED TO THE BATTERIES ( INSTALLATION) THEY WERE JUST LYING THERE XD
- the rest of the problems were just a little part of our problems so i just end here.

Ein guter Service und ein sehr freundliches Personal. Der technische Zustand der Boote ist allgemein gut. Bei Fragen oder Probleme gibt es einen technischen Ansprechpartner, der telefonisch erreichbar ist und unterstützt. Ich kann Yachting in Sardinia empfehlen!

Barca pulita e ben equipaggiata. Puntuale il ceck in e ceck out.
Nessun problema rilevato.
Eccessivi i costi degli extra, in particolare non apprezzata la presenza della zattera a prescindere.

Coming back to YIS august '22 was very positive. the catamaran base moved in a very more comfortable marina. The equipment of the Catamaran was functional and very good. The skipper was great and very professional, he found for us all amazing places, not forgetting safeness and plans.

Our 5th charter wit YiS was again a very good experience, after different Dufours this time a Bali. Staff was very helpful, booking procedure was simple and straight and boat condition was very good. The Bali has a few technical deficiencies, but that is clearly an issue of the construction. We are planning our next trip already.
Yes the cat was at a pier outside a marina, which we knew and enjoyed since there was a nice restaurant and a decent chill-out area.
