Wickes - Newport Anmeldelser 

Ordered decking from wickes , had my builder collect the order and install . He did express to me that the boards were of a very bad quality . Me thinking he was being over dramatic. I've ordered them from a big reputable company . When I got home , he was right.
These are basically gravel boards with what I can not even say is grooves , just small router marks . The wood is so bad you can't walk on it. Splinter city, and the finish is rough wood not smooth . We are going to rip it up and replace when we can afford it , we can't let the kids on it because of the splinters . We did email wickes and did not even get a response . Been using wickes for ages . But won't be again

Spoke to wickes customer services, who made me jump through hoops , verifying this , sending pictures ect just to tell me because it's already installed their is nothing they can do , was that not apparent in my review that the decking had already been installed by my builder ? They knew what they were doing , making it look like to you guys reading that they are looking it . Aswell as wasting more of my time , they have proven that they are not customer friendly and really don't care about you or me . I would really avoid if u was you . The amount of money I have spent with them over the years , they won't be getting another penny off me !

Amazing staff. Really helpful with product information. Polite and friendly even when dealing with product complaints.

Very very dissatisfied with customer services, ordered my kitchen in January and still have missing parts, dimensions came wrong,being passed from one side to the other, with no one to take responsibility for.

Had an issue with an order I placed in store but it just wasn't arriving. As I wasn't able to wait any longer I went to the local shop and asked if I can cancel the online order and pick the items up instore instead. There were issues with it but lovely Chris (Deputy manager?) and Kieran in Newport's branch were absolute heros and helped me with it start to finish. They both were kind, patient and understood what the problem was straight away. It took a moment to sort due to computer saying no, but overall all was sorted on the same visit

Great bunch of staff always polite nothings never to much for them to help with. Jill mandy mia and Adrian I've got to know them over the years of coming to wickes always smiling great staff.

Extremely poor quality from fitters with little or no care regarding finishings. Even worse customer service experience being fobbed off, lied to and no resolution even with phoning/emailing numerous times.Shower they fitted has leaked 3 times causing damage downstairs with electrical cables in ceiling now exposed to leaking water. Formal complaint ignored and they refuse to send an instalation manager out to inspect poor workmanship even with elements deemed unsafe.

Jenny in Newport was fantastic and is an absolute credit to her profession & employer. She made the whole design experience very easy, efficient and cost effective to suit my needs and wants. Would highly recommend her and would enjoy working with her again.

Kitchen arrived 22 aug – not in one delivery as promised, but over 2 days
Several parcels were damaged, which dx duly noted.
The kitchen fitter (27/8/24 ) found the contents to be damaged, these had to be returned to store.
Several end panels were also returned to store as they were surplus to the kitchen build ( I had paid for them, unecesarily)
One base unit was too big (800ml) the design was for (600ml).
At time of purchase the salesman advised that swapping any parts of the kitchen could be done by bringing said item to store and exchanging. This however is not the case, a lead time of upto 10 days can take place for a new item, and the old item had to be collected by courier from my home and arranged by myself.
When the replacement base unit arrived (2/9/24), I was not notified of the forthcoming delivery.
Had to pay the fitter again as his window for the kitchen build (1 week) had passed.
The bridging unit door was damaged, I had to send a photo to customer services to authorise a replacement. Again, a 10 day lead time, and again, no notification of the delivery 9/9/24.
When the bridging unit arrived, called in the fitter, who then advised that the item was incorrect, it was discovered that the right item had been ordered, but the wrong item despatched by wickes.
The unit arrived several days later, again, no notification of forthcoming delivery. Again, called in fitter at cost to complete the kitchen.
The worktops were delivered unannounced, and it was by pure chance that someone was home.
Two days prior to the worktop fitter arriving I contacted wickes to find out where the hob and extractor fan were, they were puzzled as they had expected the appliance people to have contacted me, they had not. I was also informed that the appliances can arrive 14 days after the kitchen is delivered. I cancelled the appliance order with wickes and ordered them myself online to ensure they would be ready for the worktop fitter.
The worktop fitter delayed his fitting for another week due to other commitments with wickes.
Several key points to highlight:
we were without a kitchen for 3 weeks.
I had to recall the fitter in several times at cost due to damaged items and wrong items.
The installation of the hob, and the plumbing of the sink were left to us to manage (this was never mentioned at the time of the kitchen purchase).
There is no process for swapping items.
Lead times for items were never mentioned.
Wickes had somehow mixed my email with omega kitchens email (hence no communication).
I have lost several days work due to the overrun of the kitchen completion.
Four adults who live here have had to endure not having a kitchen for 3 weeks.

Bought wickes own label Matt white emulsion. Used this before but on this occasion it dried but left chalk mark on clothing if brushed against. Tenants weren’t happy and rightly so. I had to re do the whole house with another retailers paint. Wickes did pay for the new paint and refunded the two tubs of Matt (lost the receipt for the third tub so they wouldn’t refund that one). They asked what I expected as an out come. I asked for the refund of paints and nominal £50 per day for my labour (token amount as I’m a DIY er) it took 2 days to completely repaint. They refused to pay the labour. Crown who make the paint say it’s not their fault as no other complaints on the batch. Sadly Wickes are no longer my go to store after 40 years. Don’t buy their own label Matt white paint!

Despite Wickes replying below they will look into this, no further action was taken. Won’t be shopping there again.

Shout out to Duncan in the kitchen showroom. He was very helpful, unrushed, knowledgeable and not at all pushy. We’re in the early stages of looking at kitchens & work tops etc and our visit was extremely useful. Thanks Duncan!

Purcased a Sofia kitchen from Wickes after having my previous kitchen from them which was still good after 20 years. Unfortunately the kitchen arrived minus worktops - the delivery people could not tell us why also the dishwasher was damaged - dented on lower front. When we enquired about worktops we were told there would be a months wait for them ! One of the design staff then suggested why didnt we fit 'cheapo' tops for the time being whilst we were waiting for our chosen ones to arrive - which makes me wonder if the months wait mentioned might be a bit longer - also they must think we have money to waste. So far very disappointed with Wickes and unfortunately would definitely not recommend.
