Lack of Honesty, lying for financial gain & delaying complaints through unofficial policies
Called for a roaming add on and spoke to a woman called “Basnt” first told me about the add on I needed but mentioned I was out of contract on my sim, advised her I’m aware and not interested in renewing I’m just looking to know what’s in the 8 day add on for roaming in Greece, she advised I need to renew to buy an add on… I disputed this asked for a manager she put me on hold to ask for a manager, came back and explained there was an error and she can do it out of contract, essentially trying to secure an upgrade disingenuously, I asked again for a manager as I had no confidence in her managing my account but thanked her for being polite, she advised the manager was in a meeting and the “back office” would deal with my complaint granted I didn’t raise one at all. I asked again for the manager to which she put me on hold came back and asked “what do you expect them to do for you” and I explained I had no trust in her given she had tried to deceive me into an upgrade instead of simply telling me she had an issue trying to apply it. She then said it would be a callback within 24-48 hours knowing I was going abroad tomorrow and wouldn’t be able to take the call or deal with this I refused the offer for a callback and requested 5 min with a manager to sort this now. She again refused, cut me off when I asked anything, told me she was happy to wait on the phone as wouldn’t hang up on me and that I was wasting her time my time and her managers. She then explained the manager was taking an escalation so I asked her have they ended their meeting knowing a dissatisfied customer was on the phone and chose to call someone else to which she said again it’s not her issue. She quoted a “policy” of 24-48 hours for a callback but didn’t reference anywhere where this could be read she went on to admit she could have applied the add on, her manager wasn’t on a meeting or call and that there is no policy number or policy for this before sitting in silence repeating the SLA for a callback and number. After 20 minutes of waiting she told me the back office had to “fix the issue” with not being able to apply the add on despite telling me earlier I needed to upgrade and then telling me she could do it when I got frustrated. To top it off she hung up after an hour and 30 minutes but not before telling me she was doing feedback about me calling and being unhappy despite being polite throughout the call and vocalising my frustration about the policy in a calm manner. I had no issues with Vodafone’s coverage or price until today when I realised the admin cost put onto customers equates to unbothered customer service advisors who tick boxes by reading a script, asking how your day is and not caring for an answer only to stop speaking if they can’t answer a simple request or question after being caught in a lie. I will be porting out and cancelling after my holiday to a company that has UK based contact centers with employees that aren’t sitting at home communicating issues over teams causing delays and easy dismissal of complaints.
