Not sure about all the bad reviews but…

Not sure about all the bad reviews but these bars are so dang delicious haha. My sis ended up getting herself a subscription cause I wouldn't shut up about how good they were. She loves that she can get energy on the go when she's having a busy work day (she's a doctor) with no time to sit down and enjoy a coffee.

I LOVE these for my mid-day pick-me-up. I eat one an hour after lunch to satisfy my sweet tooth and get some much needed energy after my carb heavy meal lol.

Only note would be if they can reduce the sugar content even further and add more fiber. Cuz then it would be absolutely perfect.

Misleading “Free Trial” — Auto-Charged Without Consent

I ordered a “free trial” from Verb Energy on May 5, 2025, and paid only for shipping. Nowhere during checkout was I clearly informed that I was signing up for a subscription — no opt-in box, no confirmation screen, no email warning. But on May 27, they charged me $79 and automatically shipped another box.

The only mention of recurring billing was hidden in small text on the product page, with no way to decline or agree. That’s not how ethical subscriptions work. I never received a notice before the charge, and I only found out after checking my bank account.

I tried to contact customer service (via email, text, and social media) and received no response. I canceled immediately, but they had already shipped the product — and I never wanted it.

This feels sneaky and intentionally misleading. I’m extremely disappointed, and I hope Verb Energy reevaluates how they handle subscriptions. Consumers deserve clear, upfront communication and a chance to opt in — not be tricked into recurring charges.

They just keep charging

I have been playing hell trying to get a response from them to CANCEL an auto subscription that I wasn’t informed I was signed up for!! They just keep sending and charging no matter what or how you try to contact them. I am currently working with my bank to try to get them to STOP (been trying for 3 months)! Trust me, save yourself the hassle. The bars aren’t great either.

Shady Business Practices

WTH? I've been ordering from this company directly for over a year and 11 days after my last order I received a notification that my new order (that I didn't place) had been received. Apparently they had signed me up for a subscription plan with automatic orders. I did not consent to this and they KNOW I didn't consent to it. When I tried to sign into my account to cancel the order, it wouldn't let me sign in without first consenting to enrollment in the subscription plan. I did not consent and I do not want automatic orders. Verb customer service did respond saying to let them know whether to cancel the order or go ahead with it. I replied right away that I wanted to cancel the order and be removed from the FLEX subscription plan and to give me confirmation that I had been removed. They ghosted me after that request and I see lots of reviews from people who have been unable to cancel the subscription service.

This is a terrible business practice and terrible company. Good product, shady business.

BEWARE before purchasing a sampler pack!!!!

I am so extremely disappointed with this company. As others have commented, I ordered these as a sampler pack due to somebody that I follow on Instagram and they automatically signed me up for a subscription. I am unable to eat these bars as the amount of caffeine in them cause my heart to race. Now I have two bags of bars for $60 each that I cannot eat and I am having trouble getting my subscription canceled. It is impossible to reach an actual human being - customer service is non-existent. Do yourself a favor and try these bars if you know somebody who has them. Do not order from them unless you know you like them or if your body can handle them!!!

Scam Operation

Don't do business with this Scam Operation.  To quote VerbEnergy after forcing me to exert far too much time, attention, and "energy" to cancel their unwanted, unrequested, and stupidly over-priced "default" automatic shipment: "The trial is for Verb Flex, our flexible reoccurring order plan, which has a default first shipment.  Sorry if that is not clear and explained to you when you first placed your trial order."  No, it's not explained anywhere, including their FAQs.  And why on earth would anyone want to subscribe to a product they haven't even tried yet?  Especially a food product where taste ultimately decides?

Cancelling their Forced Order online is no easy task, unless you like playing "Where's Waldo".  It's NOT available in any of the obvious places:  NOT with the Account "Gear" Icon on the top right that only enables you to change "text" notification options.  Not with any of their View or supposed "Edit" options, which only allow you to change "when" you receive their scam shipment.  Not with the "Burger" Icon on the Top left, which isn't even available unless you bounce through a few pages.  Nope; you have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, past all their promotional crap, to their very obscure link.

Also, they give only 1-day advance notice to cancel, including weekends and holidays, which is when I received mine, so I had to cancel online--Woohoo, Happy Holidays!I  Clearly, they want to give you as little time as possible to prevent their scam subscription.  If you don't cancel within that 24-hour period, they'll claim that the order can't be cancelled because it was already shipped, as happened to a friend of mine via text--they don't answer their phone.  My angry cancellation texts weren't answered until their 2nd business day.  If they try this with you, simply say you'll reject the shipment and dispute any charges with your credit card.  Magically, they'll be able to cancel the order.

To get my payment information removed, which I never gave them permission to keep in their records, I had to threaten multiple times that I'd call Fraud Prevention if they didn't remove it--you can't edit this information either.

Especially as a Vegan committed to ethical food practices, I won't do business with VerbEnergy.  Then there's the fact that they sucked far more "energy" out of my life than their over-priced bars are worth.  I encourage everyone to boycott this scam operation.

I am so super upset

I am so super upset! I have been eating the verb energy bars for almost 2 years, And I honestly started buying them on Amazon because they come in one day versus the week-long shipment that it normally takes on the website. But besides that I had noticed that verb had changed their packaging I was a little excited because I thought wow I wonder if they could possibly make their bars any better well... To my extreme surprise they did the exact opposite I'm so sorry to say but they made the bars a thousand times worse I'm really praying that I just got a bad batch I literally was thinking about sending them back the bars and asking them to try one because I truly think that I got a bad batch I had gotten the cookie butter bars and they taste nothing like they used to besides the new packaging they are soft and chewy and they look like they were not fully cooked or something They literally were like raw and it didn't even taste right but I literally needed them for work so it could help me say focused during the day but literally the mere taste alone had me throw them away at literally two into the whole package! 😞 I was so upset because these were literally the only things that had helped my ADHD, especially after realizing that It was the green tea ingredient that helped with me and my ADHD when eating them,so it was a more natural thing, and whatever now that they are using now is not good! Besides making them bigger I could care less about the size! Bring back the good taste of the verb energy bars & the flavor that used to make them great! I liked the more solid consistency and please less of the weird unmixed together chewy weird separate pieces in your mouth. (I still really think that they gave me a bad batch!) The cookie butter used to be my favorite and now after spending over a $300 a month with them per year which adds up to a pretty penny, I am sorry to say but I don't want to have to go somewhere else to buy good energy bars but I might have to start finding a different energy bar company. I literally even scoured the internet all over the web and everywhere to try to find the old packaging and type of original verb energy bars before they changed their formula. I'm really sad and truly upset This is about a novel length long review I want the old verb energy bars back! Not mean just genuinely sad and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way I've talked to four other people in my family alone and two co-workers who have all tried the new ones versus the old ones and they all agree with me and yes we know that the cookie butter one is supposed to be slightly less sugar but that's no excuse as to why it tasted like that especially that batch alone! If there's any way to get in contact with me I would love to be a beta tester for a new recipe or please even better I will buy all of your old cookie butter bars from you before you change the recipe for good!

Ordered Sampler Got Suprise Auto Ship Subscription

Ordered a sample box off of Facebook. Lots of bars offering a try some sampler. Received a box of their Smores with a few more thrown in. Not bad but not great. Might have ordered again in a different flavor. Today, one month later, received an email saying my order was being shipped. Sample offer was a subscription. Not fully disclosed. Now I'm scrambling to cancle an auto charge and unsubscribe. Not good business practice.

SHIFTY DELIVERY

verb has really great customer service, I think it was mostly USPS not knowing the street address for some reason. I texted Verb and told them the issue and they are sending me a new box of bars with expedited shipping and no cost to me (thank god because I spent a lot the first time around)

I love the bars, but the shipping is very off putting.
I put in an order on May 27th and it is currently the 7th of June. In that time it has traveled from its headquarters (a state away) to my state capital, then to a town 30 miles north 2 times each.
(I live in my state capital) so how is it that it came here Then back to the town up north then back here and back north again?
I have absolutely no idea how this happens because USPS has never done this before.

Terrible Company

My order was delivered while I was at work. (I know it’s strange but I have to work in order to afford luxuries like housing, electricity, and energy bars.) I received a text when the package was delivered telling me it was delivered and to go try them. Very shortly after I received another text asking how they were. As if I’m sitting by the mailbox, waiting to tear open the package the second the mail person arrives. I replied with “stop.” I don’t have time to keep checking these stupid, pushy texts while trying to do my job. Within minutes of hitting send I received an email from customer service about my account being placed on hold because I stopped the texts. I replied informing them that I had to stop the texts because of how frequent and irritating they were. I received a response informing me my account had been canceled. Mind you I still hadn’t tried the bars, but they’d made my decision to cancel for me. I did finally try one this morning. They’re only okay. They’re low calorie because of how small they are and I’m not a fan of the texture. The caffeine comes from green tea. I’m going to stick to my kind bar and cup of coffee when I need a bump instead of these. It’ll save me the money and aggravation.

I like their bars but not the deception

I like their bars and they work as stated. The drinks taste weird, and they don't work as well as the bars. I have had a good experience with them up until recently when I was sent an email for a promotional offer. When I tried to use it, it would not go through, so I contacted them. I was told the promo applied to full price items and not already on sale items. I pointed out that this was not disclosed in the email I was sent and sent a pic of the email. I inquired if this meant that I could only use the promo on full price items even though the email they sent did not state that and I was told "I'm afraid so". I am not supporting a company that deceives customers by not fully disclosing the terms of an offer. If you're going to offer a promo and take the time to send an email then you should have full disclosure of the terms of the offer. Otherwise it looks like false advertising. I asked to be removed from texts and unsubscribed from emails and I will find another product to support.

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON!!!

I trusted a flight attendant YouTuber and gave Verb Energy a try, and while we love the bars this company cannot be trusted.

I received a text at 5:45am on a Sunday morning because they wanted a new credit card number. The only reason that my phone wasn't on DND is that my uncle is in the ICU in critical condition and not expected to survive. Needless to say, being jolted awake in the middle of the night was terrifying, only to find out it was Verb wanting a credit card number.

This is completely inexcusable. You put some trust into a company when you give them your cell phone number and this company completely blew it.

No matter how great their bars are, it's not worth the trade off. Just brew yourself a cup of coffee. Your Keurig will never text you in the middle of the night!

Horrible customer service …

This company is horrible with their customer service. You don't even realize that you have signed up for a subscription. They put the blame on you and wipe their hands. Shame on this company.

However, I got some text that I thought was telling me about a new flavor or something, but it turns out they just put it in a subscription order for me without my consent. So now I have an email confirmation and a charge on my card for something I didn’t even order. They’re slow about responding, and based on other reviews I’ve seen on other sites, this company is just a scam.
