I had a fall outside of work on broken lifted paving. I suffered a chest, arm, and leg injury which led to me being off sick from work for 3 weeks. My sick pay ran out and when I returned I got a warn... Vis mer

I met with your rep Adam in the M&S branch in Watford on the 16 July. He was very professional ,communicated clearly throughout the meeting. Highly recommend.

Filled in a cancellation form on march…
Filled in a cancellation form on march 19th, they ignored it and I never heard back, I found on the 6th of April that they have taken more money out my account and where still planning on continuing to do so VIA direct debit. I have contacted them over the last couple of days to resolve this and i have been ignored at every step, cancelled direct debit through bank and they have sent me an email telling me how i can send them money again, what a joke of a union. I've also seen their protest work and its disgusting, i thought a union was for the workers? Yet they ironically are supporting the political side that drives all our wages down and cost of living up.
They dont care
so i have had years of being bullied by managers and supervisors where i worked and held back and refused promotions i deserved and attacked constantly. constant harrasment and trying to drive me out, usdaw does nothing, their union reps dont say anything or speak up they stay silent as the employer abuses workers. even as the employer made alot of drivers redundant but then hired agency workers to replace them which the union should have stopped and said thats not a redundancy thats hire and fire given they then offered the ones redundant to be agency workers.... the union reps seem to only use the position to take unlimited holidays anyway and probably claim its union training days when its not, im literally on the reps facebook and hes always going to his holiday home abroad.
anyway i eventually get fired unfairly and discriminated against by my employer. fired for "tone" and im autistic so they had alot of warning and a third party mental health team even gave them adjustments to make. they didnt, they attacked me, they drove me off on stress leave and while i was off they report spammed me and fired me for tone. the union did nothing, they union refused to stand by me, the union didnt care. but they was happy taking my money all these years.
My Union Usdaw have always supported me…
My Union Usdaw have always supported me through representations and legal advice. I got supported all the way through. The membership subscription fees are very affordable. Usdaw is known for winning millions in compensation each year for work place accidents and personal injury claims.
USDAW for the people
USDAW is a union that genuinely puts its members first. From the moment you join, you can see that they are committed to protecting workers’ rights, offering guidance, and making sure their members feel supported in the workplace. Their representatives are approachable, professional, and always willing to listen, which makes a real difference when dealing with work-related issues.
One of the best things about USDAW is how proactive they are in standing up for fair treatment, safe working conditions, and better opportunities for employees. They provide clear advice, strong representation, and practical help whenever members need it. Knowing that you have a union behind you that is knowledgeable and ready to act gives a huge sense of reassurance.
USDAW also goes beyond workplace representation by offering useful resources, training opportunities, and benefits that help members both professionally and personally. It shows that they truly care about the wellbeing and development of the people they represent.
Overall, USDAW is a reliable and supportive union that consistently works hard for its members. Their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to fairness make them an excellent organisation to be part of.
In the pockets of the retailers
Not a trade union in my view
Aggressive sales tactics are currently being utilised to persuade low-paid workers to join a union. Such approaches are problematic, as they involve intimidating USDAW staff, lack a sense of fair play, and fail to acknowledge that diversity and inclusion are not merely promotional slogans, thereby demonstrating a lack of genuine concern for union membership and revealing inexperience in advocating for workers' rights and in negotiating. If you seek a corporate, right-wing union that withdraws at the slightest provocation and leaves members to defend themselves, consider joining. Furthermore, they provide financial incentives or vouchers, but don't waste your money
They go straight to the employer and…
They go straight to the employer and tell your secrets about a case. I had that experience.
Untrustworthy. I stopped the membership. Better alone.
I'm not surprised this is an unclaimed…
I'm not surprised this is an unclaimed profile by USDAW. They're a complete sham of a union. On site reps are useless, they sign up to be a rep so they can have time off from doing their job, not to improve workplace standards.
Head office and areas reps fob you off with lies and indifference. How do they sleep at night? Stress free on a bed of membership money would be my guess.
The only time they're interested is when they periodically hold onsite presence to shore up more membership. Their interest begins and ends at getting your money.
Oh, and they don't respond to anyone who criticises them on social media, and they block you on X/Twitter for an negative opinion against them, no matter how true.
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE
I gues I supposed to check here before paing money to this company !! Sapport from them is 1% ! absolute horible, how they even exist !!
The union that offers zero support
The union that offers zero support. At store level their reps are incompetent, offer zero knowledge, support or advice. Even when contacting head office or regional offices, they really don’t care what’s going on. Had two reps visit my store, when talking to them they say it’s to be dealt with at store level, so you tell them it’s not been done, and their reply was, ‘Well, there’s not much else to do is there?’ So glad I’m out.
Very Very disappointed
I have been with them for years and when I needed them at a meeting the rep did not attend. Waste of money.
Paid them for almost two years and when…
Paid them for almost two years and when I needed help, no one was there. I don't recommend them. Waste of your money and trust
Useless biggest waste of money
Useless biggest waste of money. Not helpful at all, I would suggest choosing a different union.
Awful first impression!
Usdaw area rep (Cheshire) attended our induction at Tesco to try and get us to sign up to the union. The woman was extremely rude and pushy. When we all introduced ourselves I said I was working part-time and had 2 children, to which she replied “so you’re a single mum on benefits then” and I was literally left speechless. I’m not, but even if I was what business is that of hers anyway? I’m in my 30’s and I’ve never met someone so arrogant. At the end of the meeting when I said I wouldn’t be signing up, she became incredibly hostile, standing over me saying i’ll regret it and I’m not thinking about my family! Very bizarre behaviour. I did feed this back to the manager but as always nothing ever comes of these things. Gosh I can only imagine what they’re like if you ever actually needed to use their service. Maybe improving training on your staffs people skills would be a start!
Tried to get some advice and they took…
Tried to get some advice and they took ages to get back to me I waited all day for a call and was called at 7pm I was in the shower and had to call back to arrange another call and I waited and waited and again called late in the day people have things to do and don’t always have signals when they are out so I had to wait at home for them to call
Clearly in cahoots with the retail…
Clearly in cahoots with the retail companies someone's taking back pocket payment bribes clearly in this company, they let my company take workers bonuses, even Christmas parties, now allowing them to overwork staff by letting them train people on 4 departments. Wtf! But yeah the ceo whose paid 2 mill a year just got 4 mill bonus how is that fair.
Most amazing fraud scheme I ever seen
Most amazing fraud scheme I ever seen. They do not provide any support or services. If you became usdaw member, please, cancel and find more trustful and responsible union. Save your many! Save your job! Cancel usdaw membership! Don't be idiot as me!
Bunch of incompetents and all the…
Bunch of incompetents and all the others sharing 1 star.
I will use a solicitor to get my money back and to ruin your image even more.
You don’t deserve min wages. Unreal
I would give them no stars
I would give them no stars but it didn’t give me that option. Absolutely awful had a call back from a representative for some advice no empathy shown, wasn’t interested in what I had to say at all.
Useless and no value for money
Member since 2018. Their representatives possibly get kickbacks from the employer so when they come for the meeting they just sit there like they are deaf or dumb. But get paid for the meeting thay they attend. Got an invite for a disciplinary. Supposed to happen on 11th October. Union reps don't work Saturdays and Sundays. When you call the union office they say the area organiser will call u back in 24 hours. One is already stressed about the disciplinary meeting to add salt to injury one has to wait another 24 hours to hear back from the Union. Why am I paying £12.94 if they cant assit me. Why cant they have a representative on standby so that atleast someone is available to attend the meeting and SPEAK UP FOR THE EMPLOYEE. DO NOT JOIN IT IS WASTE OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. Advised all family and friends to terminate the membership.
