The whole trip was amazing .we were picked up by a fabulous guide driver who gave us a potted history of Bucharest as we drove to the hotel.All the hotels were lovely welcoming staff and friendly. Bur without a doubt the thing that made this trip really special was our fantastic guide Christina.She went above and beyond to help everyone she was cheerful...heloed me down the stairs in the snow and even carried my bag.Everyone on the tour agreed she is very special and a national treasure. My only suggestion is to remove the trip to Bran Castle which is a disappointment and not worth the money or the effort.it might also be useful to suggest that the mountain trip gorgeous as it was might not be suitable for people with mobility issues.i will definitely travel with you again but if you could send Christina it would be even better.

What an incredible trip. Something completely different. We fell a little bit in love with Romania. Unspoilt, clean air, mountains, snow, sunshine, great food and wine, we got to sample it all. Christina, our guide, is a ray of sunshine, knowledgable and such a happy fun person. She made the trip extra special!

Untravelled Paths, Ice Hotel, was one of the most amazing experiences we have been on.

The whole holiday was seamless from the airport pick up to the airport drop off.

The whole trip was awesome

This was our first trip with untravelled paths and as such we didn't really know what to expect, however everything was extremely well organised. The Ice Hotel experience was fabulous, all the hotels and vehicles were of excellent quality, airport pickups prompt and our guide Christina fabulous. There were high winds on the mountain on the day we were due to leave resulting in a delay in us leaving and missing Brans Castle but the situation which could have been a lot worse was dealt with calmly and professionally by Christina who kept us updated on the situation and managed to get us all down safely and in good spirits. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely be booking UTP again in the future.

We have just returned from Transylvania and I wanted to express our appreciation of Cristina our marvellous, smiley & competent tour guide. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Our flight was delayed by 4 hours, but she waited for us & then took us to a favourite restaurant. It was really disappointing that it was unsafe, due to the severe winds, for us to travel in the cable car to the Ice Hotel for our night's stay. That's life, sometimes the unexpected happens that not even Cristina has any control over. She did her best to re-arrange our itinerary so that we could at least go up to the Ice Hotel the next day, but the winds were still too high. New accommodation was swiftly arranged & we had a lovely evening walk through medieval Sibui & an amazing meal at the Tango restaurant. Cristina persuaded the restaurant to provide sharing platters of her favourite foods, that were not on the menu. What a star! The next day, we thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the Romanian Rural Museum - a chance to experience what rural life was like in Romania.
On our last morning in Bucharest she created & provided a walking map of the city which she shared with the group by WhatsApp.
Transfers to & from the airport were prompt & efficient. Our mini-bus was modern, clean & comfortable. I've taken 1* off my review because of the erratic and sometimes dangerous driving of the driver.

We have just returned from the Ice Hotel Experience in Romania.
We highly recommend Untravelled Paths and can’t wait to book our next trip. We were looked after brilliantly from the initial booking experience, right up to boarding the flight home. Untravelled paths clearly have their clients at the heart of what they do. The whole trip exceeded our expectations.
Cristina our tour guide was amazing. She treated us like friends, not just like clients. She shared local knowledge and helped us get a flavour of Romania by taking us to restaurants serving real Romania cuisine (in her own time when she was technically not working). She laughed with us and danced with us. She really was so much fun.
The whole Romania experience offered is not one to be missed! You won’t be disappointed. Such a unique experience sleeping in the Ice Hotel!

Myself and a friend did this experience and loved it from start to finish. Hotels were all great and different. Our guide Marius also made some great restaurant recommendations. The highlight of our trip had to be the Husky Experience. We paid extra to do the extended version and it was well worth it even though we had to be up at 6.15. Zoltan and his huskies were amazing along with the local firewater and home made cakes he kept giving us. Big shout-out to Marius who ferried us around Transylvania in his Audi and kept us entertained. He was funny and scarily knowledgeable and made the trip so memorable. Would definitely use UTP again

Our guide was excellent, good humour but efficient. The travel was comfortable and ice hotel experience out of this world.

The week was very good, Marius was a fun host and had lots of interesting facts and stories which made the mini bus journeys more enjoyable. Mara was also very knowledgable and friendly and we enjoyed her walking tour round Bucharest. Poiana Brasov was lovely although when we went unfortunately there was no snow. We did however enjoy the spa at the hotel. Would book through untraveled paths again.

Myself and my friend did the Ice Hotel Experience in Romania. All I can say is wow, it was a trip of a lifetime. Romania itself is absolutely brilliant, but will focus on untraveled paths for the review. Firstly, Mara, our tour guide, was incredible. She was the perfect amount of professional, friendly and approachable. She gave us a great insight to the countries history and made the experience brilliant, it would not have been the same without her. She stayed with us at every destination and was always on hand if we ever needed any help. The driver of the coach was also great, very friendly and did a great job through the mountains. We spent the trip with 12 other people and all were extremely friendly (wouldn’t have been the same without Kellie and Mark!). It became more of a community very quickly rather than a group of strangers. Peles castle was gorgeous, the views from the ice hotel were immense and the nightlife in Bucharest was really good. Everything was reasonably priced and food tasted great. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend this trip!

Second trip with Untravelled Paths, this time the wolf trekking experience in Transylvania. Highly recommend this trip if you are after an authentic experience, plenty of exercise and the thrill of tracking wild animals in their environment (thank you Cosmin). Great hosts along the way - Dana at Popas Le Simon so kind and a wonderful cook (including for the vegetarians). Marius at Untraveled Paths could not have been more helpful. We’ll be back with Untraveled Paths for another adventure.

We spent a fabulous holiday in Romania visiting the Ice Hotel and Dracula's Castle. Can highly recommend this holiday and UTP. From our first contact UTP were really helpful and their holiday info pack received a couple of weeks prior to travel was very comprehensive. Big shout out to our guide Marius, who was helpful, informative, fun and totally mad. He really made the holiday, which was celebrating my big birthday and we can only say "Thanks Marius, wouldnt have been the same without you."

We recently went on the husky sledding experience with UTP in Romania. The whole trip from start to finish was excellently organized and executed. The accommodations we stayed in were all very nice and well equipped, with a great breakfast included and all the staff really went above and beyond!
Our transfers and travel around the country were all well scheduled and very comfortable. As well as the organized stops and visits to sites of interest, we also saw incredible views of the countryside and scenery in our tour of Transilvania that we didn’t expect!
Our guide Anna, was exceptionally knowledgeable, informative and passionate about what she was doing! It made a huge difference and actually made our holiday being with someone so enthusiastic and fun!
Our husky sledding experience was 10 out 10! The dogs were beautiful and seemed to really love what they did and are clearly adored by their owners. For us it was a once in a lifetime bucket list experience and we can’t recommend it highly enough! So exhilarating and fun and stunning scenery. Our ‘musher’, Zoltan, was great fun and super experienced.
Romania on the whole was also a 10 out 10. It was a winter wonderland of stunning natural beauty, wonderful castles and quaint towns steeped in such interesting history.
Food and drink is all excellent quality and very reasonable also.
We wish to thank everyone we encountered for making our trip so awesome.
Can’t recommend Untravelled Paths highly enough and will definitely be using this company for more experiences in the future 😄

My mother and I recently came back from a 3 day wolf tracking trip in Brasov, Transylvania. We had the most incredible time! Everything was immaculately organised and both Marius and Cosmin were so knowledgeable about the area and were excellent guides. The natural beauty is absolutely unmatched and everyone we encountered were so friendly and welcoming. This is a truly magical and unforgettable experience that I couldn’t recommend more highly.

The trip to the Western Cape was so much more than we expected.
Our guide ensured our trip went smoothly and was so friendly.
The company were quick to respond to questions and helped us out when things didn't always go to plan.
Our only issue was that they booked all the accommodation in a different name and didn't tell us. So after an 11.5hr flight to be greeted by the hotel and told that we not expected was not ideal.
However this was quickly resolved by a telephone call to the company director who couldn't apologize enough.
Originally the trip had 6 people going but unfortunately 4 people dropped out leaving just the 2 of us. This did not cause any problems for the company and we ended up on our private tour.
The trip was so interesting with such diversity from a city break to a wine tasting experience and seeing animals in so many different environments.
The phrase a holiday of a lifetime couldn't be more accurate.

I cannot recommend the Untravelled Paths and the Ice Hotel Experience highly enough, the trip was excellent from start to finish. The Ice Hotel was a once in a lifetime experience. Visits to Brasow town Peles and Bran castles broadened our experience of Romania. My final words have to go to Marius our brilliant guide - what a star! Marius gave us a fascinating insight into Romanian history and culture. He was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and had a great sense of humour which really made the trip for all of us. Thank you!

We had a fantastic holiday in Romania. Everything was very well organised, good central hotels, and we liked that there were only 13 of us in the group which meant we could all get to know each other and share the experience. George our guide was very knowledgeable and was always available to us day or night, giving us his number when we stayed in the Ice Hotel in case we had any issues during the night. He let us use his room in the chalet the next morning to shower and change. The whole experience of staying in the Ice Hotel, visiting the castles and exploring Budapest was amazing, the scenery stunning and we would have no problem recommending Untravelled Paths.

From the moment I first contacted Untravelled Paths they were very professional and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. Our guide was outstanding in all areas, very informative, friendly and always on hand to help.

After a few hiccups initially with emails, not receiving our itinerary, once we informed them it was quickly resolved
Aside from that the trip was amazing made so much better having Marius to guide us through it. From start to finish he was always attentive, very respectful, friendly, informative and he obviously is very proud of his country as he should be as the cities and areas we visited were beautiful. The mountain views were truly spectacular and the ice hotel was a once in a lifetime experience.
We always felt safe on the journeys inbetween on the snowy and icy roads in the hands of our friendly and capable driver, (sorry we forgot his name), but very punctual and polite.
As a host and guide Marius truly was the complete package, friendly, positive, inclusive, respectful, fun, informative and very knowledgeable, either addressing the group or on an individual basis, you felt he cared that you had the best experience and was a pleasure to be around, even jumping big queues to get me a hot chocolate!!
A truly enjoyable and memorable experience and I would recommend this trip to all,
