Amazing quality and style!
I am honestly shocked to see some negative reviews of this brand. I realize that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Me, personally, I’m thrilled to have found US. Sure, they are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for! Although I am of average size, I do appreciate that they offer size inclusive options for all! US often has great sales - that is the time to buy! I LOVE their “tee rex” t-shirts. Their jeans fit me great, and even their dresses have been amazing - and I am NOT a dress person. US dresses are the only ones that look good on me. Most importantly, the quality is amazing! Thank you, US, keep it going!
Awful dress fit like a tube sock
Awful dress fit like a tube sock. Of course, this dress was not eligible for return on their site. I donated it to charity several months ago. Today I got a snarky email in response to my review telling me they would be happy to "help me with my size" in the future. Size wasn't the problem with this dress, design was. It took them months to get back to me, then they were snarky about it. I worked in retail sales for over 20 years. I know what size I wear. It wasn't the size, it was the design and their failure to stand behind their products.
Best brand I’ve found for size inclusive actually cute options
I’ve been in Europe the past 8months and have searched high and low in malls, thrift stores and online but this is the first time I’ve found clothes that feel like they were made for me. The quality of their items has been unmatched and for what you get the price point is also reasonable. They ship via DHL and I have far less customs issues than with CTT. Amazing brand that I plan to use for a long time to come. I only wish they would offer even more like for special occasions, swim wear and underwear other than that no notes!
false advertizing
Their site leads us to believe you can return or exchange. But they now say they will only give back a store gift card. There is no way to speak to them live and the Seattle store phone number listed is not in service.

i have ordered their surprise boxes in the past. i received a few things that were not for me but giftable to others. my recent 3 piece box is going directly to the salvation army - hideous gold sweater, puffy short ruffled skirt/shorts that is 4 sizes too big and a green drapery dress that i would never wear. also HUGE.
been a customer for years and never had a sizing problem , an always got decent styles in the surprise box , not sure what has happened.

So very, very disappointed. Was excited and fooled by copy for a Surprise Box that said for $118 you could receive merch up to $1004. Ever the optimist, I ordered the box. It is summer and I live on Long Island, New York. Every item was appropriate for a winter funeral in Iceland. Black ill-fitting sweatshirt, black ill-fitting dress, black ill-fitting blazer. No returns or exchanges, which I knew, but decided to try anyway. When I called, they say these are customer favorites? Who are these customers? People in Siberia? Don't be a sucker like me, keep your money and don't order any Surprise/Mystery boxes from them or you will be very sorry you did.

Bought two sizes of same item as a gift…
Bought two sizes of same item as a gift for a friend so she could select which fit best. It was a gift and she tried it on after the 30 days they give you for a return. They have NO customer service just bots and auto responses for me to explain the circumstances. The end result is that I am stuck with an item that I can't return. Addendum. After this review they reached out to me and offered me a resolution

If I could give less than 1 star I would! I ordered a pair of jeans and was so excited to receive them. I received the wrong size by ALOT. I contacted customer service who told me, no problem, just go to this link to exchange them for your size. Well, my size was out of stock. Back and forth they kept telling me in the next day we will be restocking. Check the website, NOPE. Keep checking over the next couple days we are restocking, Check, NOPE. Go back to customer service...Nothing! No response! I have gone to their stupid website approx. 10 times a day everyday for 3 weeks and nothing has changed with their sizes available. So I am stuck with a pair of jeans that I can never wear. I can't even give them to someone I know because they are larger than the sizes they wear. They should be shut down for dishonest practices and no customer service. Never once offered a refund to return them. Awful company. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!!!

With generosity, two stars. I have ordered somewhere
around 10 items from Universal Standard (US) over a 3-year period, including workwear, casual, and loungewear. Two of those items are great, and I wear them frequently. Everything else... not so much. I have a mid-size body and the cuts of the clothing are just not flattering. I can see how on a larger body, the 'universal standard' of the cuts is comfortable, but on me, everything just looks baggy and awkward. Plus many of the fabrics are so prone to wrinkling, that even the pieces that look nice end up quickly looking messy and disheveled. But I've kept ordering because I believe in the brand's mission.
My most recent order, however, has been a nightmare, and I will never order from them again. My first package was lost by UPS, which is of course not the fault of US, however, I was told by UPS to report the lost package to US. US told me to wait for the order to arrive, despite UPS already reporting the package lost. I had to insist that the package be resent. I spent $400 on three clothing items, I wasn't willing to just wait and see if they ever showed up. The items were eventually resent and arrived today - one item is completely soaking wet on the inside of the sealed packaging. In addition, all the pieces are too big (which is my fault for ordering the wrong size). I thought, I'm frustrated, I'm over it, let's just return these for a refund and be done. Well, turns out you can't just process a simple return on their website, you are only given the option to process a size-related exchange. Meaning despite the options for 'I didn't like it', or 'I want something else' the only actual function you can perform is an exchange for a size up or down. I thought briefly about emailing their customer service and requesting a return w/refund, but as I purchased these items using Affirm, I know I would then need to contact Affirm to ensure the refund is appropriately applied (I don't trust the US systems to properly report at this point).
Having worked in DTC retail eCommerce for 7 years, I can without a doubt say this is one of the most frustrating customer experiences I've ever had. There is a lot of work to be done on customer experience with this brand and clothing quality (specific to cut and material) leaves something much to be desired. For the price of the products, one would expect a more premium experience, but at best it's giving Amazon storefront (which is in some ways easier because I at least trust internal systems at Amazon).

Love the clothing. Cotton is so soft. Always get compliments. Yes be careful of final sale if you not sure about an item.
As for customer service they have always been great when I needed them. I had a lost package and as it was a mystery box that they couldn’t resend they gave me my money back.
The mystery boxes are fun and I find I at least like enough that would cover the cost of the box. But on the other hand I have ended up with things I would NEVER have bought looking at on the website that I now own multiple of I love them so much.
Yes in the past they asked about colours in mystery boxes but I think they realized that was too hard to do so now you only select the type of box.
I also love that they last so long and are not fast fashion.
The one thing I’m not totally in love with is the jeans but I have problems finding jeans I like in general as I’m short in the legs but long in body so petite jeans don’t work. Add being plus sized I find I need to try on in person and then alter the length. So I don’t hold that against them as the rest of the pants I like just hemmed.
They sent the wrong color and said it was final sale after the fact
They sent the wrong color AND said another item is final sale when there was absolutely no indication that it was (I was careful). I am done with this company. The clothing is high quality but I've had nothing but trouble with them. This time they sent me the wrong color and refused to acknowledge it. I sent them a picture. They sent me a cheery email saying they could confirm that I got the right color. I bought charcoal pants, the packing slips says Forest River and the pants are clearly a dark green not at all like the charcoal on their site. Another shirt, they won't let me return because I was supposed to know that everything in their end of year sale is final sale. THIS WAS NOT INDICATED AT ALL. This is the second incident I've had with them, well second and third. This company is either unethical or incompetent or a combination of both. BEWARE.

Two years in a row. Same exact fraud. There was no note of anything in my cart being "Final Sale" - not on the webpage, when I placed items in my cart, when I checked out, or when I received an order confirmation and a separate shipping confirmation.
Only the shipping label in the box of clothes had "FINAL SALE" clear as day.
I tried disputing and sent along the emails from them as proof - and they just flat out refused to refund me for the items I wish to return. Ghosting my emails now. I am planning to dispute with my credit card and warn the world on every site I can!

I ordered from universal standard 3 weeks ago, I am based in the UK. They happily took my money but 3 weeks later the order still hasn’t been shipped. Terrible customer service. Saying I will receive an email about shipping but it never arrives. Don’t order from them. Shame as they do make nice clothes.

The other day I was sent a coupon for $50 off. Which I thought was really generous. Meanwhile, complete truth, I figured there was an expiration date and searched top to bottom for one. None to be found. The top I wanted was sold out but I was super happy when 3 days later it was back. I went to use the coupon and was told it had expired. So I went back to the coupon and still couldn’t see it. I emailed the company. Someone got back to me and explained that in fine print, halfway down the email, it states that it expired same day at 11:59pm. The writing was sooo small I couldn’t read it but believes them. I wrote back and said that didn’t seem fair. I was a good customer and was it really worth losing a good customer over $50 when the writing was so incredibly small. No reply. Also, no one answers their phone line.
Plus, their prices are insanely over-priced. They claim to be all-inclusive but you must have $120 for a top? Im a size 10, and will go somewhere else but I believe they claim to be inclusive when really they’re just cashing in.
Absolutely horrendous customer service
Absolutely horrendous customer service. They do not even try to understand your issue, only robotically state whatever script they have in front of them.
You better know exactly what you're doing when you buy their product using a $25 credit because if you have to return even a portion of the order, it's gone forever.
This company is a hot mess
This company is a hot mess. I have wanted to, or actually tried to, order a couple dozen items over the course of at least two years, but 1) what I want is sold out in my size and never restocked; 2) discounts promised are never applied in the cart or checkout; 3) they take so long to get around to answering my question about a product that I lose interest; or 4) they send me discount codes printed on their catalogs that never work. They seem to care so little for their customers that I have to wonder how they're still in business. And the clothing, styles that mostly make me scratch my head and think "Ewww...really??", is offered in an unrelenting overuse of rayon, rayon, rayon, one of the most disgusting fabrics in the history of fashion. Their "customer service" (and I use that term loosely) is going the way that so many companies are going, with chat bots that never have a real answer (or no chat at all--most of the time it's nonfunctional) and canned, computer-generated responses to e-mails. I don't trust companies that are afraid to talk directly to their potential customers!! I don't know why I keep going to the website after all this time and looking for something to buy, but today will be the last.
Delivery scam?
Universal Standard claims my package was delivered, but it was not. There is no problem with stolen packages on my street, and I'm home all day with a dog who barks whenever someone approaches the house. I was excited to find a vendor who seemed to be size-inclusive, but this seems like just another scam company advertising on Facebook. I should have known better. For some reason, I was smart enough to buy the non-delivery insurance. We'll see if I really get a refund or if this is the actual profit center for the company.
Just watch out for "final sale" items
Just watch out for "final sale" items. I inadvertently ordered from a final sale/warehouse sale and am stuck with a bizarre dress that seems to be twice my normal size. they won't take it back, so I guess it's going to Goodwill. And I'm done with Universal Standard. I really do understand "final sale," but come on. The sizing is completely insane on this dress. No "fit liberty" in final sales.
