Tripit seems to be designed to prevent users accessing their accounts rather than being the very handy and helpful travel planner it used to be. I understand need for security but trying to create a password is nearly impossible now as it offers no guidance or tips on what they accept - have had 8 extremely complicated passwords rejected as "not strong enough"

There parser simply does not work. i am not able to upload a very simple itinerary. Waste of time.

TripIT server down most of 22 December and logged me out and failed when I tried to log back in. Server down error message most of the day. Status Gator. Com reported 120 TripIT down reports from all over the world. TripIT support failed to respond or offer goodwill extra pro subscription months as a goodwill gesture. Also, daily reminders about non renewal of pro when I had already paid £38 for another TripIT pro year. Not appreciated and TripIT support did not help in any way. Otherwise a really excellent product and thank you very much.

I was led to believe that it was one of the best software for holiday planning but after organising two holidays I've decided to leave. The planner, whilst attempting to be intuitive and efficient, is buggy and clunky to use. Here are some examples:

1. Whilst plans can synch with iCal, not all information is easily viewed eg Notes (and there is nowhere else to include information). Why ever not? The only way to view the information is to view it on Tripit but...

2. the link to Tripit on each diary entry in iCal does not not work, clearly a security issue with the link, so the only way is to make the link 'public'. Even if I did not mind doing this.....

3. rather than taking you that diary entry in Tripit, the link takes you to the top level of your trip so you have to scroll all the way down to find the diary entry. In addition...

4. the layout of the plans is unintuitive. In a digital world of multiple views, calendar views, which is how holidays actually work, Tripit only has one scrolling view of 'plans' making it clunky to navigate.

I'm sure there are loads more poor design issues which I haven't uncovered but for these alone, I'm out.

I’m a travel professional since 1983. Purchased the Pro version on the recommendation of a friend expecting the best.
I sent 8 itinerary emails and 4 of them were so wrong they created a huge problem- wrong dates, wrong flight numbers and wrong times.
Stick with the “free” version- at least you will get what you pay for!

Tripit has been helpful until this year. Sync problems. Shame, it used to be sp efficient.

Renewed an annual subscription without so much as a warning ... I hate that. I would have recommended tripit before, but II will never recommend any company that behaves like this. I am busy, I don't have the time to chase up a refund. I deleted instead. Disgusted that even Google play doesn't offer better interaction, like, get me to click OK. Now to cancel, after paying for a year, they are like - we will delete all your data - they don't even give me the rest of the eyear

Created an account and tried to log in. Repeatedly stuck in a loop of having to verify my email address. Would give this 0 stars if I could as clearly it is incapable of handling something as simple as logging in adequately much less giving me the ability to explore options and features. AVOID! I want to know how I can delete my information from this website/app now as having failed at a simple login I have no faith in this company and its data protection policies.

First of all, the original account I set up to try out the app, wouldn't allow me to log back in. Change password process would get stuck. Customer service over a weekend is non-existent (that would be very inconvenient if you're traveling) When I finally got back into my account, sending through my flight details was seamless, but then a tour I'd booked was not recognised (can only enter manually) and then first lot of accommodation was not recognised (can only enter manually). Why would I want to enter all my trip details manually in an overly detailed form, when I already have all the details in confirmation emails? Very clunky, and I was also a bit worried about forwarding emails to a general email address within the app - it never asked for any security details. Not confident to do this.

Wanted to have a replacement for Tripcase and even though it is paid, it works worse. The trip sharing functionality is non-functional and is honestly ridiculous considering a free app could do it.

Es ist eine Katastrophe, du wirst auf hunderte Seiten weiter geleitet... ich habe 2 Stunden gebraucht, bis ich es hingekriegt habe. Es ist eine Falle.

I have set up 2 accounts and never even get the email to verify- resend - resend - 2 different emails nothing just a circle

It's absolutely the worst tech company. Tech support is useless.

Can't find how to change temperature settings to Celsius

I’ve happily used Tripit for maybe ten years but it seems to have broken in the last three or so months (summer ‘24). Mixes up itineraries and dates for different travelers, won’t recognize some forwarded itineraries that it used to easily ingest, etc.
I really hope they get their act together soon, otherwise I’m going to abandon Tripit, sadly.

The logic doesn’t make a lot of sense if you’re a nomad like me. For eg, each trip set up must have a destination city, ergo a trip is to one place. But it imported a multi-city car hire itinerary and accommodation for other cities. FIK how to untangle that because trip is the only data structure so where does a multi-city car hire sit under. Or multiple flight legs.

I had to go back to excel to get the flexibility in data structure I need - ie, setting up a trip with multiple cities.

Such a shame - seemed like a great idea but poorly executed. Also seems like something easily fixed by either allowing a trip to include multiple destinations or creating a higher level data item comprised of multiple trips. Don’t you have business analysts to do this sort of thing?!

DO NOT USE! I paid for a pro subscription a couple of weeks ago & suddenly the app is no longer available in my area. Lost all my travel planning & can't delete my data, not to mention I am entitled to a refund of my subscription.

Tripit won't restore my access unless I provide them with personal data far in excess of what is required for travel planning

Have been using Tripit for years and not really sure why they are getting so many poor reviews. It does a few things well, all my travel details, air and hotel are forwarded and easy to view. Could it be more robust? Yes, but seriously it is free and they even send me updates on flight changes and gate info on day of travel.
In addition easy to add other people to view, alter, or edit trip plans.
Not sure what people expect for free?

I downloaded Trip-it for a holiday coming up because people on reddit recommended it.
I shortly after deleted the app cause it’s awful BUT that’s not my problem. They leaked, or, tried to leak my data. Luckily every single password I use for every single platform is completely different. BE CAREFUL when creating passwords for shady or low reviewed apps. Don’t download TripIt.

I am quite surprised with the one star reviews. I have been using this app now for close to 10 years. I have not seen another app come close to it. On the rare occasion a booking has not imported it is usually the way the booking has come through via email. I have gifted this app to many people now who also travel extensively like me. They have all agreed how easy this app is to use. Another thing I must point out is that I have been overseas at a number of different airports over the years and got a message from Tripit app to advise of not just a delay, but also a gate change. This was before we even got advised at the airport itself. This really is amazing. Sorry the other people didn't get to experience the app for what it really is, but I have been using this and will continue to.
