Unauthorised charges

Warsaw airport.
Gave us the car with 4/8 fuel and they argued that was full. Also no damages and clean, although they took the security deposit.
Moreover the counter staff tried to charge double the price of the deposit.

Hyrde bil via Discovery cars och…

Hyrde bil via Discovery cars och betalade i förväg. När vi hämtade ut bilen på Malagas flygplats fanns det skador och repor trots att inga stod i kontraktet. Vi påtalade detta och de sa att ta foto. Det gjorde vi.
Vid återlämnandet tittade en från Thrifty över bilen och godkände den.
När vi kom hem fick vi tillbaka depositionen men sen drog de 260 euro utan att meddela varför. Vi påtalade detta och de återkom med att det inte var rätt order nummer vi hade angett (vilket det var) och att de behövde mer info för att se orsaken till dragningen.
Efter att jag skickat med hela kvittot från Discovery cars med alla ordernr. etc. slutade de att svara.
De är nu polisanmälda!

Robo limpio Thrifty/Hertz

OJO.. Si te gusta que te roben alquila aquí. Cargos en tarjeta después de dos semanas por más valor que el alquiler y aun esperando una explicación. Coche entregado sin un rasguño.. thrifty Santa Cruz (HERTZ). Olvidate que te cojan el teléfono. Con razón los demás tenían colas enormes y ellos estaban vacíos y bobo de mi por no leer las reseñas. Ofrecen alquileres ajustados para robarte otro tanto después.

Never again

Die schlimmste Erfahrung, die wir jemals mit einer Autovermietung gemacht haben! Das Auto – über Easyjet gebucht und am 25. Mai am Flughafen Barcelona abgeholt – sprang am nächsten Morgen nicht mehr an. Die komplett überforderten Telefonistinnen der Road Assistance von Thrifty sandten zwar einen Mechaniker, der das Auto wieder zum Laufen brachte, jedoch eine kaputte Lichtmaschine diagnostizierte (so dass man das Auto nicht mehr abstellen durfte, weil es sonst nicht wieder angesprungen wäre). Aber sie forderten, dass man das Auto nach Barcelona zurückbringe (150 km einfache Strecke), um dort ein neues zu holen. Nach langen Verhandlungen gelang es, eine Abholung am Flughafen Girona (60 km) zu organisieren. Dort allerdings war das Büro von Thrifty gar nicht besetzt! Nach wiederum langen Verhandlungen mit der Road Assistance (bei ständig laufendem Motor!) wurde ein Auto bei der Muttergesellschaft Hertz am Hauptbahnhof von Girona bereitgestellt, zwar nicht der gebuchte Standard, aber immerhin. Das klappte dann dank eines engagierten Hertz-Mitarbeiters abends um 20.00.
Das Ganze dauerte einen ganzen Tag; mit der Road Assistance haben wir neunmal telefoniert. Rückzahlung oder Kostenerlass wurden bei der Rückgabe am Flughafen Barcelona brüsk (und ausgesprochen unfreundlich) abgelehnt. Und als Gipfel der Unverschämtheit: auch die Benzinkosten für die Hin- und Herfahrerei zum Austausch des Wagens wurden uns zu einem Wucherpreis in Rechnung gestellt.
Thrifty: Never again!

Alicante Spanien Airport

Wir haben gebucht und bezahlt und vor Ort wollte man nochmal 440€ haben 150€ was wir wieder bekommen sollten bisher kam nix. Rest weil wir eine debitkarte hatten. Wir wollten keine zusätzlichen Versicherungen.

Den gewünschten Wagen hatten wir auch nicht bzw die Größe wo alles rein passt.

My PIN was refused at the office and then Thrifty refused payment from my wife (from the same credit card account) based on the fact that she might cancel. But... they were happy to add my wife as a driver for an extra 170 Euros, using my wife's card.... which, in theory, she could also cancel.

Thrifty has low price but they are…

Thrifty has low price but they are employees don’t know shit and their systems crash and steals your money. Even if you prepaid using priceline. They will still charge you like you didn’t prepaid at all. Plus my credit card company credit one worthless cause they take their side. I suggest if u are renting from any car company know exactly how many days u renting and if u have to extend. Return their shit back and rent another one through Priceline its way cheaper and make sure u need the extension cause Priceline don’t do refunds or have a customer service line. Thrifty customer service is trash too

Lotnisko w Maladze. Oszustwo!! Dodatkowe koszty ubezpieczenia, o których nie ma słowa przy odbiorze samochodu, blokada na koncie jako depozyt, a po oddaniu samochodu zostaje nie odblokowana!!!!

This is a small Thrifty office operated by one person. The collection process took about 40 minutes.

When I returned the car several hours early there was another long queue. I used the drop box to return the key. I thought that this would be the easiest option for both myself and the sole person behind the desk.

This has resulted in an extra charge of GBP 30 applied to my credit card.

Thrifty should explain that the drop box cannot be used and that I should have queued up instead.

Flughafen Malaga.
Vor Ort wurde mir eine Versicherung offensichtlich in voller betrügerischer Absicht untergejubelt. Mir ist Vorort, nachdem ich den Voucher vorgelegt und betont hatte, dass ich keine Zusatzversicherung brauche, mitgeteilt worden, dass die Kreditkarte als Sicherheit für die SB und die Tankregelung benötigt wird. Die Frage ist doch, warum eine Leistung (Versicherung) erst nach Ende der Mietzeit abgerechnet wird und ich keine Beleg der Kreditkartenzahlung bekommen habe, als diese "durchgezogen" wurde.
Wie soll ich zudem als Kunde wissen, wofür die Abkürzungen der Positionen auf dem von mir unterschriebenen Vertagsdokument stehen. Ich muss doch eigentlich darauf vertrauen können, dass ich etwas unterschrieben habe, was mir zuvor Glauben gemacht wurde.
Ich behalte mir auf jeden Fall rechtliche Schritte vor.

Die Dauer bzw. Art und Weise des Ablaufes der Reklamation, das Ergebnis dieser und Ihre letztliche Mitteilung über das Ergebnis sind weder kundenfreundlich noch empfehlenswert.
So verliert man Kunden!
Als Vermittler von Dienstleistungen sollten Sie mehr Interesse daran haben und Engagement an den Tag legen, dass Ihre Kunden nicht betrogen werden. Die Unterschrift meinerseits unter das Vertragsdokument und die daraus resultierenden Rechtsfolgen werden ggf. zivilrechtlich nur schwer anfechtbar sein, wobei eine teurere Absicherung einer Dienstleistung (369,-) als diese es selbst war (328,-), zumindest nach deutschem Recht sittenwidrig sein könnte. Das kriminelle Verhalten am Schalter ist strafrechtlich allerdings eindeutig zu bewerten.
Nie wieder Thrifty!

Vorsicht vor Abzocke am Schalter – Alicante Flughafen (ALX51)
Ich hatte über Check24 ein Auto inkl. Vollkaskoschutz (Selbstbeteiligungsabsicherung) gebucht. Am Schalter wurde mir vom Mitarbeiter erklärt, ich müsse zusätzlich den “SuperCover” abschließen, da dieser mit der Kaution und den Tankkosten zusammenhänge – meine bestehende Versicherung decke das nicht ab. Das war schlicht gelogen.
Ergebnis: 147,49 € für eine Versicherung bezahlt, die ich bereits hatte. Mietvertrag Nr. 95323655-0.
Reklamation bei Thrifty Spain bisher ohne Ergebnis. Wer über einen Drittanbieter mit eigener Versicherung bucht, wird hier gezielt unter Druck gesetzt und zur Doppelversicherung gedrängt. Finger weg.

The woman working the night shift at the Thrifty location at Chicago O'Hare, who wears a hijab, was incredibly unprofessional. Due to multiple flight cancellations, we reserved a car online and went to pick it up. She informed us that there were no cars available, despite there appearing to be several vehicles in the lot.

When I politely questioned the situation, she responded with a disrespectful tone and attitude. I asked why she was speaking to me that way, and she replied, "You're the one giving me attitude." When I requested her name, she simply responded, "Dollar" (the company associated with Thrifty). She then proceeded to tell me that I had a bad attitude.

After dealing with a four-hour delay that ultimately turned into a canceled flight, this interaction made an already stressful situation even worse. The employee was unwilling to help, disrespectful, and did not provide the level of customer service I have come to expect.

We have used Thrifty for many of our car rentals over the years, but this experience was extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, because of this interaction, we will not be using the Chicago O'Hare location again.

Pratiche commerciali aggressive e personale maleducato all'aeroporto di Siviglia. Evitateli.

Presso gli uffici Thrifty dell'aeroporto di Siviglia abbiamo vissuto la peggiore esperienza di noleggio auto in oltre vent'anni di viaggi.
Premessa: io e la mia compagna siamo over 60 e viaggiatori esperti (circa 7 viaggi all'anno). Quando viaggiamo in Europa noleggiamo sempre un'auto seguendo la stessa identica procedura: prenotazione online tramite il portale del volo, inclusione della FULL Insurance (copertura totale) e politica carburante pieno/pieno. In anni di viaggi con svariate compagnie, non abbiamo mai avuto il minimo problema.

Il 22 settembre, intorno alle ore 22:00, con Thrifty è iniziato il nostro incubo. Al bancone l'addetta, dimostratasi da subito scortese e aggressiva, ha tentato di imporci la loro assicurazione Full interna, sostenendo falsamente che quella già stipulata da noi non fosse valida e che dovevamo per forza pagare di nuovo. Inoltre, ha preteso un'ulteriore trattenuta sulla carta di credito per la politica sul carburante, dettaglio non menzionato in alcun modo sui documenti di prenotazione.

Alle nostre legittime rimostranze, mostrando il voucher che includeva chiaramente la copertura totale, l'addetta mi ha letteralmente insultato dicendo: "Lei non sa leggere...". Preferisco non andare oltre nella descrizione della sua aggressività verbale e totale mancanza di professionalità.

Per non cedere a quello che ritengo un vero e proprio tentativo di estorsione commerciale, NON ABBIAMO RITIRATO L'AUTO. Siamo dovuti tornare in aeroporto per rivolgerci a un altro operatore, noleggiando una vettura last-minute con un ovvio e pesante danno economico rispetto alla cifra già pagata a Thrifty.
Al rientro in Italia ho immediatamente aperto una formale contestazione tramite il canale di prenotazione, che è responsabile della condotta dei propri partner commerciali. Abbiamo ottenuto un ticket di assistenza e siamo in attesa di sviluppi. Richiediamo il rimborso totale sia della cifra trattenuta da Thrifty, sia del danno economico subito per il noleggio ex-novo generato dal loro comportamento. Aggiornerò questa recensione in base all'esito del reclamo.

Conclusione: MAI PIÙ CON THRIFTY. Piuttosto che farmi trattare in questo modo e subire pratiche così poco trasparenti, mi muovo a piedi. Statene alla larga.

Tankfüllung erwähnt und Versicherung verkauft

Am Schalter am Flughafen Malaga (ES) wurde mir eine Zusatzversicherung untergejubelt, wobei ich es als Depot für die Tankfüllung verstanden habe und das auch logisch war für mich, da ich den Schlüssel morgens um 05:00 Uhr in die Schlüsselbox legen musste. Dass mir dabei aber eine Zusatzversicherung verkauft wurde, hatte ich erst später gesehen. Schon bei der Buchung hatte ich alle möglichen Versicherungen ausgewählt und betrachte es daher als Sauerei, wenn dann weitere Leistungen zusätzlich untergeschoben werden mit einem anderen Vorwand. Thrifty oder Hertz werde ich sicherlich nicht mehr berücksichtigen, da ich solche Geschäftspraktiken verabscheue.

Thrifty/Hertz Deceptive Business Practice

We had a pre-paid car rental voucher that was not honored at the Chicago O'Hare airport. The GM would not give me her name or business card and refused to put in writing that they were refusing to give us a car. We booked the reservation on a third party website and showed up with all of the requirements listed on the rental agreement, but, she told me I needed to have a Spanish driver's license in my possession. The requirements stated that I had to present a valid driver's license, nothing about which country. I am a US citizen with Spanish residency and I have a US and Spanish driver's license, but, since the reservation did not state that I needed a Spanish license, I left it at home and presented my US license. The woman was extremely unprofessional, rude, and unwilling to honor the contract. Since she did not put in writing that they refuse to give us a car, the third party is refusing to refund us the €740. We have filed complaints for deceptive business practice and complained to the executive office at Hertz and have not received any support or assistance. Hopefully, the IL Attorney General will help. I will never use Hertz Global Corporation or any of its subsidiaries. Don't expect written legal guidelines to be followed or to receive a refund when they're at fault for not following the law.

Rental Agreement

Rental Agreement: 95328350-5

I rented a car from Thrifty at Alicante Airport and was told I was receiving a nearly new Ford Tourneo with only 2,000 km on the odometer. I was also assured that the vehicle had no damage.

However, when I inspected the car after collection, I found several areas of existing damage that had not been pointed out or recorded. I was told that if I discovered any damage, I should take photos and contact customer service immediately. Unfortunately, despite repeated attempts, nobody answered the phone.

This is a very frustrating experience. Customers should not have to discover undocumented damage themselves or struggle to reach customer service to report it. I have documented the damage with photos to protect myself from being held responsible for pre-existing damage.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Thrifty at Alicante Airport and would not rent from them again.

Giving 1* as no option for 0*

Giving 1* as no option for 0*. Very disappointing experience with Thrifty, booked through Holiday Autos. Our flight arrived on time, but we were delayed by the immigration process at Preveza Airport, which was beyond our control. When we reached the Thrifty desk, shared with Hertz, we were told our reservation had been marked as a no-show and our car had been given away. No consideration was given for the immigration delays at the airport.
To make matters worse, the Hertz staff at the desk representing Thrifty were rude, dismissive, customer service were extremely poor. They offered little assistance, showed no understanding of the situation, and failed to provide a reasonable solution. The manager refused to provide his details. The whole experience caused unnecessary stress and disruption at the start of our holiday. We have since escalated our complaint with them and have yet to receive any further response and they will not answer the question we have asked a couple of times, what time precisely was our car given away. We went on to rent a car from Europcar, their representative at their desk said not one of his customer’s had arrived on time, some were over 2 hours late that day due to the delays getting through.
I would not recommend Thrifty or Hertz based on my experience. Absolutely terrible, not even responded to our email!!
