**Terrible experience with Thrifty Málaga**

After returning the car, I discovered that around **€453 had not been refunded**. We had declined additional insurance, and the vehicle was returned in the same condition.

The charges were unclear, and getting a proper explanation has been extremely difficult. What looked like a reasonably priced rental ended up becoming very expensive.

I would not use Thrifty again. **Check every document and charge carefully before leaving the desk.**

Booked a premium SUV over 6 months ago on arrival at LAX and a long flight from London arrived to the thrifty counter were 25 people was waiting to be seen. After about 1 hour wait I was told my booked premium SUV wasn’t available and if I would except a downgrade had no choice but to except our hotel was in Hollywood not far from airport we had tickets booked for universal studios next morning car wouldn’t start had to be towed back to LAX taking valuable time from my holiday and missing universal studios day out on arrival no apologies just gave me my original booked SUV I have always used ALAMO no issues but thought I would give thrifty a go never again it’s unbearable to wait in a que after a long flight then wait another hour while they find you a car then have to be towed back to the airport the next day the big issue is the waiting never had this issue before with other brands for that reason I won’t be using thrifty again best to pay there rivals higher car rental costs then go through this misery

Mangler efterfølgende forklaringer på træk på betalingskort... Thrifty svarer ikke på henvendelser via deres hjemmeside. Selv om jeg burde kunne fremsøge mine kvitteringer fra hjemmesiden, virker det ikke.
Nu her 3 måneder senere trækker de igen fra mit kort, uden nogen forklaring????

Hired a car from Thrifty at Alicante airport. I declined the additional insurance and extra driver they try to sell you. However, Thrifty surreptitiously included a roadside assistance cover on the hire agreement. It wasn’t until after I returned the car and returned home that this additional cost was charged to my credit card. I have complained to Thrifty who have not responded, I went via the rental company and the credit card provider. Because I signed the rental agreement which sneakily included the roadside assistance and I never noticed it I cannot get a refund. Please be aware of these additional costs that the car hire companies seem to be adding without your knowledge.

Thrifty Flughafen Málaga. Ich habe einen Mietwagen über Check24 mit Vollkaskoversicherung und Erstattung der Selbstbeteiligung gebucht zur Abholung im Terminal. Am Thrifty-Schalter wurde mir auf Nachfrage versichert, dass keine zusätzlichen Versicherungen oder Gebühren gebucht wurden und lediglich der Sicherheitsbetrag auf der Kreditkarte geblockt wird. Als dann aber ein anderer Betrag als mit Check24 vereinbart geblockt wurde, habe ich den vorn Thrifty ausgehändigten Mietvertrag einmal von der KI prüfen lassen und siehe da, es wurde eine Vollkaskoversicherung unter der Bezeichnung "Supercover" und eine Flughafengebühr als zusätzliche Kosten abgerechnet. Ich habe es mir nicht nehmen lassen, einen Urlaubstag zu opfern und bin nochmals zur Mietstation nach Malaga gefahren, immerhin ging es um 395,00 Euro zusätzlich. Ich erwischte auch den gleichen Mitarbeiter, er stritt natürlich alles ab, wirkte dann sehr zornig und ertappt, rannte wutentbrannt zum Mietwagen, legte sich unters Auto und fand in Windeseile 2 Schäden, die er mir sogleich unterschob. Es scheint also die Masche zu sein, entweder zusätzliche Versicherungen und Gebühren beim Kunden oder bei vorhandener Vollversicherung bekannte Schäden über die externen Versicherungen abzurechnen. Ich fand es immer schlimm anzusehen, aber es wird jetzt auch bei mir Standard werden, trotz Vollversicherung das Mietfahrzeug bei Abnahme und Abgabe rundum abzufilmen. Es gibt für mich nun thriftyge Gründe, diesen Anbieter nicht mehr zu nutzen!

L'agence de Thrifty Aeroport de Malaga sont des voyous et des escrocs. Après réservation par rentalcars d'une location avec assurance complète souscrite, Thrifty m'a facturé 3 fois le prix de l'assurance rentalcars, à savoir 255,81 euros, sans aucune explication . Ils ne répondent à aucun mail.

They charged 200EUR for cleaning!! Car has some sand, usual amount for beach trips, not terrible at all. Also, staff on desk fooled me that part of payment will be returned after I drop the car. This never happened and i shouldn't have been trust staff wo reading papers..

Sehr unserious, sie versuchen einem eine Versicherung aufzubrummen. Funktioniert das nich wollen Sie noch eine Kaution 1500 Euro. Habe ich klar abgelehnt. Am Schluss mussten wir 350 Euro bezahlen sonst hätten wir den Schlüssel nicht bekommen.

Had to wait for over two hours for our rental car to be available. Delayed our trip and negatively impacted our plans. Poor communication as delay was initially attributed to car being moved to back lot, then staff break time, then became staff calling in ill. No offer to make up for inconvenience and impact to our Vancouver Island plans.

Manque de transparence en ce qui concerne les frais de carburant car pas de contrat de location remis (ni papier ni mail à ce jour).
21 PLN = 4,85 € /litre du carburant
Facture envoyé seulement après réclamation car la somme a été retiré directement sur la caution.

They tell you one thing but charge you for all sorts of other things later on, and they have no interest in resolving the issue afterwards. Avoid this rental company!

Thrifty Girona, wypozyczenie i zwrot bezproblemowy, ale nie zwracają pełnego depozytu na paliwo, mimo iż nalane do pełna 2 minuty od parkingu, potrącili 50 euro z 300 depozytu.

I've rented a car from Thrifty at Riga Airport four times over the past two years, and every experience has been a good one.

This time, I actually looked at other rental companies because Thrifty wasn't the cheapest option. In the end, I still chose them because I knew exactly what I was getting – and for me, that's worth paying extra.

The staff have always been friendly and helpful, the cars have been clean, modern, and in excellent condition, and everything has been straightforward from pickup to return. I've never had any hidden fees, unexpected charges, or unpleasant surprises.

I can only speak about my experience with this Thrifty location, but after four rentals, they've earned my trust. For me, a stress-free rental experience is worth more than saving a few euros.

I’m giving 1 star, and the only reason it isn’t zero is because the employee at the rental desk waited for us after our flight was delayed. He was friendly and helpful.

Everything else was an absolute rip-off.

Our rental for three weeks cost around €500, but because they refused to accept a Visa Debit card for the security deposit, we were forced to pay an additional €400 for their insurance. That almost doubled the total cost.

This felt like a hidden extra charge rather than a genuine choice. If you don’t have a traditional credit card, be prepared for extremely expensive add-ons.

I would never book with this company again and cannot recommend them.

At time of pick up of the vehicle I reported to the lady attendant the condition of the car. Dirty and strong smell of smoke. They did not offer a replacement vehicle. Time of return I spoke to the same lot attendant lady and did remind her of the condition. She remembered me from a couple days earlier. At the rental desk I told the attendant what happened and he told me I will get a discount for my trouble. Later I have received an email with the final bill and they charged me $400 for smoking in the car instead of the discount. At the desk the attendant attitude was, it’s too bad we have to charge somebody for cleaning the car. Asked for the manager and I was told he cannot be bothered, I should take it up with customer service. Talking to the only sane person, the lot attendant lady remembered and offered to help. She called somebody and she said they will adjust my bill. That was yesterday but I still have not received a final bill with the corrected amount. Spoke to the people at the security checkpoint and they told me I’m not the first passenger these people try to scam. DO NOT RENT FROM TRIFTY AT THIS LOCATION!

J avais loué un véhicule pour 1 semaine à Minorque (baleares)
Au retour de vacances, je reçois un mail concernant une infraction : j'étais entré dans une rue réservée au riverains, pas de sens interdit.
Je paie donc 48€ pour le pv, soit.
Par contre que l agence de location me charge de 40€ supplémentaires pour frais administratifs est SCANDALEUX!

It took 2 hours on the phone to get them to honor the full Roadside assistance for a flat tyre from a screw.

Kann ich nur von abraten. Thrifty ist unseriös und meiner Meinung nach überschreiten sie die Grenze zum Betrug. Ich habe eindeutig gesagt das ich keine Zusatzleistungen möchte und mir wurde eine Versicherung unter geschoben. Gut versteckt in den ganzen Unterlagen ohne mich darauf aufmerksam zu machen. Lasst euch nicht von den günstigen Angeboten locken, später Zahlt ihr mehr als das dreifache drauf. Gebucht für 186 € am ende Gezahlt 556,30€. Ich kann wirklich nur davor warnen.
