Bought a Car, Got a Weekly Subscription to Excuses and stress
My girlfriend’s brother bought a car from this dealership and, honestly, what followed deserves its own Netflix series.
The car broke down within a week. Speedrun any% complete. Instead of an apology, we were accused of deliberately causing the fault because he “couldn’t afford the insurance”. Bold accusation. Zero evidence. 10/10 confidence.
The car came with a “new MOT”, which sounded great until we realised the rear lights worked on a rota system and the reverse lights didn’t work at all. I’m not an MOT tester, but I am fairly sure “sometimes works” isn’t a pass.
When a refund was requested, they refused to collect the car unless we agreed to a repair — even though the AA had already recovered it and advised it shouldn’t be driven. Apparently consumer rights only apply if the car is mobile and cooperative.
Communication then entered its witness protection phase. Emails ignored. Calls unanswered. We were repeatedly told they had “14 working days” to refund the money. Fun fact: the law says 14 days, not whenever you feel like it. After well over that, the refund eventually arrived.
Since then, my father-in-law has been contacted every week asking him to remove the review. Every. Single. Week. The dedication is impressive. If that same effort had gone into checking the car or responding to emails, this review probably wouldn’t exist.
I can only assume the desperation is because this review joins a very crowded collection of negative ones.
If you’re looking for a car, I’d suggest going literally anywhere else. If you’re looking for excuses, stress, and a crash course in consumer law — this place has you covered.

We would like to clarify that when the issue was reported, we followed our standard procedure and offered inspection and repair under warranty. However, the customer later chose to unwind the sale, which we accepted as a goodwill gesture.
The vehicle was collected, and the unwind process was completed in full. As per standard procedure, refunds were processed within the required timeframe once the vehicle and finance settlement were finalised.
We also wish to clarify that no customer is ever forced into repairs — all options were explained clearly.
Only after the full unwind process had been completed and all payments returned was this review posted.
We always aim to resolve matters professionally and fairly, and we regret that this experience did not meet expectations. Nevertheless, we wish all parties the very best going forward.

The price was good and the staff very respectful. The car was immaculate, they threw in a free mini service, MOT and fixed any minor issues from the previous MOT. Unfortunately we fell for there lies aswell! I can’t go into too much detail now but please please do NOT buy this particular vehicle….st line, black fiesta reg Fl18 fwh! This car is NOT roadworthy! There’s a problem with the airbags that they have not fixed! They have supposedly fixed an expensive problem but will not give us any receipt or proof! The car is up for sale again as we took it back on the 11th of December 2025, they DO NOT OWN the car at the moment as they have not paid the finance company back there money lol!! We have reported them to trading standards and I also have a recording of them trying to bribe us with money when we took the car back, saying they will pay us £300/400 to keep the car and not report them! They have also tried to tell the finance company that they want £600 off of us for a repair they never did haha! We have so much proof against this company! Please do not buy an st line black fiesta fl18 fwh! Unsafe to drive and is NOT owned by them! Disgusting behaviour

I agreed to buy a car through this garage with. Everything was signed, deposit ready, I was excited.
Then the day before collection they said sorry, the gearbox is completely broken – we can’t let you have the car.
They tried to sell me a car with a major hidden fault, only admitted it when they couldn’t hide it anymore. No apology, no immediate replacement offered, just “we’ll sort something”.
Wasted over two weeks of my time, left me without a car, and nearly money for a vehicle that was never roadworthy.
Disgraceful way to treat a customer. Will never go near this dealership again and I warn everyone else to stay away too.

The vehicle was supplied with a valid MOT at the time of sale. MOT tests are carried out according to DVSA standards, and we do not conduct or manipulate MOT results. If a bulb issue was later identified, this is a minor rectifiable item and does not automatically invalidate an MOT certificate.
When the vehicle was reported to have developed a fault, the correct process was followed. As with any used vehicle, issues can occasionally arise after purchase. In such cases, the vehicle must be inspected and assessed before decisions are made regarding repair or further action. This is standard practice and not an attempt to “fob off” customers.
We categorically deny being dishonest or engaging in any form of scamming. We have been trading for over 11 years and have sold more than 18,000 vehicles, operating within consumer law and industry regulations.

The car will break down within a week
The car will break down within a week, then they will accuse you of purposely causing the issue because you cannot afford the insurance.
They provided a “new MOT” however I do not believe this to be a genuine MOT as after they delivered the car we noticed the rear lights intermittently worked and the reverse lights did not work at all. Now I’m not an MOT tester but I’m pretty sure this is something that would be checked on an MOT test.
They will refuse to collect the car if you request a refund, saying they will only collect if you agree to a repair, even though this is their legal obligation, this is even if the car is unable to be driven under the advise of the AA that had to recover the car after breaking down, therefore you will have to return the car at your own expense on a recovery truck.
They will then ignore your emails and phone calls claiming they have 14 working days to return your money. Their legal obligation is 14 days (not working days) As of today they have had the car for 20 full days 15 of these are classified as working days and still not returned our money.
Overall I would not recommend buying a vehicle from this company. In fact I would advise avoiding them at all costs.
We have reported to The Motoring Ombudsman, Trading Standards and The AA as they are currently a member of the AA Dealer Promise Code of Practice (hopefully not for much longer)

When concerns were raised about the vehicle, we engaged through the appropriate after-sales process. It is standard practice that when a vehicle is reported to have a fault, it must be inspected before any decision regarding refund or repair is made. This is not a refusal to act, but a requirement under consumer law to verify the nature of the issue.
We categorically deny accusing any customer of deliberately causing damage. That is not our approach and not how we conduct business.
With regard to collection, vehicles must be assessed before a rejection is confirmed. Recovery logistics depend on diagnosis, location, and agreement on the next steps. This is procedural and not an attempt to avoid responsibility.
Regarding refunds, the timeframe begins once a formal rejection is accepted and administrative processing is completed. We do not withhold funds improperly, and any delays are linked to procedural verification, not avoidance. We operate within consumer regulations and cooperate fully with regulatory bodies when required.
We have been trading for over 11 years and have sold more than 18,000 vehicles. Serious allegations such as dishonesty or non-compliance are not reflective of our business practices.
Customers are always entitled to escalate matters, and we have no concern in cooperating with The Motoring Ombudsman, Trading Standards, or The AA where appropriate. We remain confident in our compliance and our documentation.

Firstly, regarding the Dart Charge: this is a **government-operated road charge**, not a charge that is issued or controlled by us as a dealership. The Dartford Crossing works on a **pay-by-midnight system**, and the responsibility to make the payment depends entirely on **who is registered as the keeper at the exact time the vehicle crosses the bridge**. In many delivery cases, the vehicle is already transferred into the customer’s name before delivery to ensure the customer is legally registered as the new keeper from the moment the car is handed over.

Unfortunately, no such opportunity was given to us before this public review was posted.
Secondly, regarding communication: we completely disagree with the suggestion that we “promise actions and don’t deliver”. As a business that has been trading for nearly two decades, delivering on our promises is exactly what our reputation is built on. We handle a very high volume of vehicle sales and deliveries every month, and while delays can occasionally occur due to logistics, traffic, or third-party transport providers, we always aim to keep customers informed and updated as best as possible.
If at any point you felt communication was unclear or slower than expected, we genuinely regret that — however, it is important to understand that **posting a public review should never be the first step to resolving a fixable issue**, especially when direct contact would have allowed us to investigate immediately and put things right.
We would also like to clarify that **we do not benefit financially from Dart Charges, tolls, or penalty notices**. There is absolutely no incentive for us to “avoid paying” any such charge. In fact, unresolved penalties only create unnecessary administrative work for everyone involved. That is why we always encourage customers to contact us straight away if anything unexpected arrives in the post after delivery.
We strongly believe that **issues should always be raised directly with the business first**, especially when:
• A simple refund can be issued
• A charge can be transferred or removed
• A misunderstanding can be clarified with evidence
• A delay or error can be corrected professionally
Unfortunately, leaving a damaging public review without first allowing us the opportunity to investigate and resolve the matter removes the chance for a quick, fair solution.
