I have recently tasted Earl Grey tea and found I love it.
Over the past few months, I have been buying Morrisons shop brand which has tasted great.
I need more and went shopping to find my usual brand unavailable, I looked at Twinings but found in the same colour box Tetley Ear Gray. Being used to buying Original Tetley Tea, I thought, I can't go wrong, it's got to be better than the shop brand.

Oh, what a mistake I made.

I could not understand, I made a brew, but it tasted horrible.
Not understanding why I examined the box and had to use the magnifying glass app on my phone to read it contained a "Zesty Citrus Twist".

Sorry but I'm not blind, but why did I need to use a magnifying app to read contain's a "Zesty Citrus Twist"? Why use the same colour boxes as an original brand?

I sent Tetley Customer Services an email to complain but did not get an acknowledgement it was received, so I logged on to Tetley's Website and sent a complaint directly.

Now, over a week later, I still have not heard anything back from them.

I used to buy Tetley Tea, but it is a brand I will never buy again.
I believe that the added "Zesty Citrus Twist" was a test flavour which went wrong and did not sell, hence why you now need a magnifying glass to read it has been added.
What else will they try to add and only use small print you can't read?

13 April nearly one month after my original complaint I had a reply from Tetley.

They apologised for the delay but they had email problems and were unable to reply until now.

They said they were sorry to hear that I was disappointed with the Zesty Citrus Twist and how it tasted.

I emailed them back again to explain that it was not the Zesty Citrus Twist, that I was complaining about, but it is the very small print on their boxs which mentions the Zesty Citrus Twist.

Now they must be having email problems again, because to this date I have not had a reply about their labelling or small print on their packaging.

I am an avid tea drinker who drinks up to 8 mugs a day. I like my tea strong so I use 2 bags left in the mug. Tetley is usually my first choice but recently been bought a gift from a friend of tea bags from another store. After finishing these tea bags, bought a big bag of Original Tetley and it tasted disgusting. Muddy, earthy, tasted more like the branches than tea. I tried 3 mugs before going out to get some other brand. £7.55 wasted. Never buying Tetley again!

I have always drunk Tetley tea they were fantastic And always tasted lovely I don't know what has happened but they are tasteless now

Had an issue with the order I received resulting in a missing item. Emily was brilliant, she asked all the right questions to make sure she could resolve the issue quickly and fully. Received my missing item and a few very kind extras. Will definitely shop with you again. Thank you again Emily and to anyone else who helped get my issue resolved.

Love Tetley Cuppa, my fav but i accidently bought Tetley One Cup, Large bags, These bags have half the tea inside, So any people who love a Tetley cuppa, Stay well clear, stick to Tetley Original.

Cant believe I'm writing this but after drinking Tetley for many years (my always goto cuppa), loved the taste but recently after getting a large 440 bag the tea even after brewing for ages just looks like dishwater, so weak thought I was going mad or a dodgy tea bag but its the same with every bag, their tea was always a strong cuppa but think maybe another company might be penny pinching at the expense of flavour and customers. Goodbye Tetley

So weak cant make a cup of tea
Just like other customers the strength and flavour has been spoiled. I would rather have payed a bit more than loose the flavour.
I have used Tetley for years but i will be looking for something else.

Just read all the negatice reviews and now realise I am not alone in thinking Tetley tbags have got significantly weaker. I too will be changing brand!

Don’t know what’s happened to Tetley one cup but the tea is like dishwater . Used Tetley most of my 50 years and never a problem but def won’t be buying again .Must be due to rising costs

Just opened a new mega bag of teabags, bought from a high street discounter, but the teabags are much different to what we are used to from our go-to brand. Flatter and seemingly containing less ‘tea’, the resultant brew is weak and does not have the expected taste that we are used to. We will be looking elsewhere for our next tea purchase.

I have been a customer for decades. I noticed that since Covid Tetley is now impossible to find in France. I wrote to Tetley's customer service to know whether their tea was still available in France. No answer. No problem. I can survive without Tetley tea, especially as I see that quality is going down. We had great teas in France, farewell Tetley and no regrets!

Have drunk tetley tea since time began, last 600 bag I bought have made me start to think of changing. Tea bags much lighter and less tea in the bags which in turn makes a cup of tea weaker and less tasteful.
Come on tetley…you are going to loose a lot of customers if you don’t look into this issue.

Massive difference in tea quality between large packet (440 bags) purchased at B&M and smaller packet (240) at Tesco - both Tetley original brand. There is visibly less tea (looks about half!) in the bags from B&M giving a terribly weak cup. The Tesco bags gave a much better tasting cup. The B&M pack cost £5.99 (1.4p per bag) and the Tesco pack was £3.95 (1.6p per bag). B&M weight was 880g for 440 bags ( 2g) tea per bag, Tesco was 750g for 240 bags (3.1g per bag). Definitely not worth the slight reduction in price!!

I have always brought Tetley tea and loved it. However last batch of 240 was bad, weak with a nasty flavour. Thought it was one batch but just read all the reviews. Will have to start trying new brands.

thought i was it was a bad batch of tea bags , so came on here to find everyone is complaining, i know times are hard but to mess with british cupper, did this company think no one would notice, a change is on the books

My issue is that in a bag of 240 original about 20% of bags are not sealed and i end up with a cup full of tea leaves. I have emailed the company twice with no reply. When I phoned customer services an automated message told me that the office is not manned every day and to leave a message. Unbelievable for a company of this size - shall not be buying this brand again.

So iv used these forever I use red milk and keep my tea bag in the whole time for strong cuppa but now yuk like milky dish water what’s going on I came on the net to see if it was just me but nope after this bag I’ll be changing brand

I thought I had a 'bad' batch of Tetley Tea Bags until I bought my next box of One Cup.
The tea is so week there is hardly any colour or tast to it.
Only about half the usual amount of tea in the tea bag than before.
So disapointed.
They were my go too brand but I won't be buying them anymore.
I want my tea to taste like tea and not look like dishwater!!

I have always bought Tetley tea bags and recently the bag of 440 tea bags (0.88kg) from Home Bargains Heywood. I was telling my partner they don't have taste & colour at all, even I used 3 t.bags in one cup & feels nothing. Why you guys ruining your quality. I like PG tips too & they are strong in taste but the bag quality is rubbish.

Since initially writing a review I complained to Tetley, they asked for Tea Bags which were supplied. Back came the reply which blamed everything bar themselves. When basically 90% say their wrong, they don’t want to listen!
