Easy to use

The application was easy to use and guided the user well. The ability to stop and continue where you stopped makes the application that much better. You are not required to complete your return in one sitting. It gives you an opportunity to search for documentation and return to the application.
The online access is free for the Federal return!

LET DOWN BY TAX ACT

I FILED ON THE 15TH GOT REJECTED DUE TO INCORRECT PIN THEREAFTER THE EBSITE WAS DOWN WHEN I RETIED THE NEXT DAYIT SHOWD ALL FIGURES AS 0 THEN I WAS TOLD IT BECAME 0 BECASUE I USED 2024 RETURN WHICH IS BULLSHIT I AM THINKING OF TAKING LEGAL ACTION HEALTH PERMITTING

a $35 added charge to ask about…

a $35 added charge to ask about amending my return, and didn't really answer the question. the verbiage is unclear when requesting last years PIN before submitting that caused my returns to get rejected.

Poor support & upselling galore

While attempting to complete my taxes using the All-Inclusive package, I experienced an error with a prompt for one of the NM state tax credit forms. I tried calling TaxAct's support line, but it was busy. I called again later, and the agent hung up on me without resolving my issue. While support was unreachable and useless, the paid expert assist was available without a wait—give me a break! Waste of my time. TaxAct is not about maximizing your return when they try to upsell you at every turn with unnecessary features rather than matching you with the option that fits your situation.

Dan was so helpful

Dan was so helpful when I was freaking out over finding out that my taxes were not filed after I paid for the service. He was firm and got to the point and I was able to retrieve my already filled out taxes.

Great support!

Very helpful, and phone support was 10/10.

I wish TaxAct was able to automatically detect on my form that I had an incorrect state selected for living in one state, but earning income from another.

But, still very happy (pending state return!)
