Please DO NOT sign up with this company, especially for Rent-to-Buy. I seriously regret it. The onboarding is excellent, but once they have you in the agreement, the service completely changes.
They add questionable charges to invoices, ignore you when you dispute them, and then immobilise the vehicle if you don’t pay. Meanwhile, you can’t work or earn money. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. AVOID!

I collected a car RJ23ZDU from the Staples
Corner branch 3 weeks ago.
On collection, the staff member was very polite and incredibly helpful in talking me through all there was to expect.
I noticed the OSF tyre was near the legal limit and brought it to his attention. He measured the tread dept with a guage and said the was at least 2 weeks worth of tread left on it. I wasn’t happy with that. But he assured me all I had to do was run the car to any KWIK FIT and they’d replace it at no cost.(Bearing in mind the tyre was barely legal)
I took in into Kwik Fit Wandsworth on Monday 07/09/26.
After waiting over 2hrs for Splend to “authorise” the replacement tyre, I was told the tyre had a puncture on it and they would not be paying for the replacement.
I was an aftersales advisor for UK’s largest used car dealership for many years and no rookie to tyres or bailout jargon.
I decided to look a the tyre closely and ascertained it didn’t have a puncture but was deteriorating from wear and poor alignment. I have barely covered any significant mileage in the 3 weeks of use.
So I am very dissatisfied and disappointed with Splend for the unfair and totally unprofessional decision.
Anyone who sees the picture of the tyre can tell it is wear disintegrated and not a puncture. They gave me car with a tyre on the legal limit and reused to replace it.
I called their customer service and spoke to a lady who was going to confirm the tyre issue was raised on collect and get back to me.
Nothing till now.
I will reconsider my position with them moving forward

We are sorry to hear that you are not happy with our service. I would like to take this opportunity to clarify a few points regarding the condition of the vehicle and its tyres on the day you took possession of it.
The tyre tread was inspected at the time, and the measurements recorded were as follows:
Front left: 6.8mm
Front right: 2.5mm
Rear left: 4.6mm
Rear right: 6.6mm
The legal minimum tyre tread depth in the UK is 1.6mm. As you can see from the measurements above, all four tyres were within the legal limit at the time the vehicle was provided.
That said, Splend authorises tyre replacements with the exception where there is a puncture, uneven wear, or visible damage such as gashes. These are the circumstances under which a tyre change would not be authorised.
I hope this clarifies the position and provides some useful context regarding the condition of the tyres when the vehicle was supplied.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Splend. I was given a Volkswagen ID.3 based on representations about the vehicle’s condition and service history. After collecting the car, I discovered scratches, a large stain on the rear seat, and other issues that had not been properly disclosed.
I was told the car had been serviced by Volkswagen. When I contacted Volkswagen Croydon, I was told they could not find any corresponding service history for the vehicle.
I raised these concerns with Splend, but I have not received an adequate explanation.
I believe customers should be given accurate information about a vehicle before entering into a long-term financial agreement. I am now seeking a resolution and considering returning the vehicle.

PCO drivers — please read this before signing up.
I’m sharing this as a serious warning to anyone considering using this company. In my experience, I would strongly advise you to think twice before signing up.
I have serious concerns about how payments and deposits are handled. I also believe that drivers should be very careful about giving the company access to their bank account, particularly if they later decide to leave and are expecting their deposit to be returned.
I would also recommend looking carefully at the company’s reviews and checking how those reviews were obtained. Some reviews appear to be connected to a £10 referral/sign-up incentive, so make sure you look beyond the overall rating and read the experiences of existing and former drivers.
Do your own research before signing up, read the terms carefully, and understand exactly what you are agreeing to. Personally, I would stay well away.
