I signed up for SoloLearn on May 17, 2025, under their annual PRO plan with a 14-day free trial. All banners and screens clearly stated that no charges would be made until day 14. However, the same day I subscribed, I was charged $52.49 USD without any prior notice.

I canceled the subscription within the trial period, yet they refused to refund the money. Support keeps repeating that I selected a "discounted offer" instead of the free trial, but that’s completely false. There is no other visible option available. I even simulated a new sign-up, and the only available option is the 14-day free trial.

On top of that, the amount they charged me does not match any of the plans they advertise. The annual plan is $69.99 USD (billed on day 14), but I was charged $52.49 USD on the same day I signed up. What plan is that? Where is it listed? That price does not appear anywhere on their website.

I am now filing a chargeback with my bank for unauthorized billing and reporting this situation to consumer protection authorities. I have full screenshots and evidence of everything.

This is false advertising, terrible customer service, and an unethical business practice.

My sololearn journey has been great so far until I hit an obstacle and then paused suddenly. I've always enjoyed learning and it was my intentions to complete all the courses on the platform. I'm excited to be part your community.
The truth is we are in a world were students are paid to study especially at the tertiary level so it's disturbing to find out that people are after my head just because of studying. I don't know if that's from your community or a third party. Honestly, I've stopped learning at your community because of that. I know you have offered me a scholarship, but the price to pay for that scholarship is too expensive. I'm part of the few people who joined your community in your early days and together we contributed ideas to get this far and so I think I deserve a chance to be given a scholarship without any hindrance.

They just want money. I bought Pro to use AI as a help, now they tell me to buy Max on another platform to use AI. They could've have told me before I paid for Pro.

While I really like the app overall — it's clean, engaging, and has helped me stay consistent with daily coding practice — I’m frustrated by how they handle their subscription tiers. A lot of content is locked behind the more expensive "Max" subscription, which I didn’t realise even existed until after I’d already paid for the "Pro" plan. It feels misleading, and I would have appreciated more transparency about the limitations before subscribing. The core learning experience is solid, but this upsell tactic left a bad impression.

Unverständliche und unsinnige Rückerstattungspolitik. Da ich mich mehrere Monate geschäftlich unterwegs war verpasste ich den Kündigungszeitpunkt, am Tag an dem die Verlängerung mitgeteilt wurde habe ich mich direkt mit dem Support auseinandergesetzt (erfolglos).
Kaufe ich das Abo Beispielsweise über den Apple Account kann ich bis zu 14 Tage stornieren, kauft man das Abo direkt bei Sololearn ist eine Stornierung überhaupt nicht möglich. Auf der Website wird auf die Support Mail Adresse verwiesen. Hier bekommt man einen Automatischen Link auf die gleiche Seite zurück.
Für mich so überhaupt nicht empfehlenswert. Zukünftig nur noch alle Käufe über Apple.

The worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Robbery in a daylight. They renew your subscription without a notice and then deny your refund and try and cover their asses with their illegal refund policy.

After a family member subscribed without my consent, I cancelled and contacted support. After a rocky run with support, eventually my subscription was refunded. I'd like to thank Nané and Sololearn support for their considerate response to my situation.

VERY responsive and helpful customer service. I wrote to ask about preserving my 448 day streak while I was going to be on vacation away from the internet for a few days, and they responded immediately and just asked that I let them know when I returned and it would be restored and they did exactly that. MUCH more helpful than a certain green bird who basically told me "good luck!" when I asked the same of them.

I DO have a bit of an issue having to refresh the page after completing some of the practice lessons to get it to show as completed, but that's super minor.

SoloLearn does exactly what it is supposed to. It helps you to go from absolute newbie to novice. I have ADHD, so I can't deal with only theoretical, self-learning materials that promise from 0 to 100 teaching, because 100% of them are additionally filled with life bits. As soon as OP touches some non-essential review of a family trip from a few years ago, I lose concentration and all the information that was in my brain about to be registered into DB from the temp variable goes down the drain.
So, in that regard, SoloLearn is short on points, a learning resource with hands-on use of what you just learned. A perfect starting point.

I have been using this for years and have got several completion certificates. I love using Sololearn to enhance my programming knowledge. I recommend to get the pro package it is worth the pay!!

This is the best app to start your tech journey, it use to use and very intuitive.

Es una buena aplicación pero si sería bueno que ampliaran no algunos sino todos los cursos a otros idiomas, también que no limitaran la parte práctica.

Shit site, asking questions about stuff they do not teach so i lose my hearts, also weirdly formulated questions, beacuse all they want is money. Money hungry bastards.

The app is easy and fun to use. Examples and exercises are simple yet meaningful, but sometimes explanations need to be quite a bit deep for better understanding. There are some Spanish translation issues, but overall, the app is just great.

It is one of My favorite learning resources, I recommend this to everybody interested in learning programming.
