I thought I would try SS so I placed an order for 10 items (on August 4th, 2025). I received 1 item in about 2 weeks. It's now September 24th and my vacation is over. Every time I call they give me a future date for my items to arrive and now they tell me end of November 2025 for delivery on the other 9 items. I do not believe them. None of my items are still available on their site. I think they keep putting me off until I cancel so it does not look like they did not deliver. The delivery they claim will happen (after 4 promised delivery dates) would be almost 4 months after I ordered! I could have ordered other clothing for my vacation. I'm sorry I trusted them. They clearly do not care when you call. I think they get these calls all day long.

I have been a customer for many years. Sadly, the quality of goods and customer service continue to plummet. I will not purchase from them again. My last order was placed on August 31. I sent an email on September 13 to inquire on the status. I received a reply that it had been shipped, but when I checked it turned out that only the label had been created "Saturday September 13, 2025
7:39 PM Local time LABEL CREATED " It wasn't picked up/shipped for another few days. I was a bit irritated that the customer service rep lied to me. Tracking indicates that I will receive the package on September 23 -- more than 3 weeks after I ordered it. Then I discover that one of the two items is on backorder. God only knows when that item will arrive. UPDATE: The second item, ordered on August 31, still has not arrived (today is October 5). It has not even been shipped. I am moving to a new address and reached out to customer service to please change the address since I will have moved by the time the item gets shipped, whenver that may be. They flatly refused: "We acknowledge your request to modify your order xxxxxx. However, we regret to inform you that we are unable to make any changes to the order at this time. Our team strives to process orders promptly, and your order has already been processed, making it inaccessible for cancellation or modification." I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN.
You'll never get the clothes you order
So disappointed in Soft Surroundings. I've been a loyal customer for years and every order since they were sold to Coldwater Creek lets me down. Can't review the clothes because they never come. Multiple emails, multiple calls - no response. Hundreds of $ gone and worse than that, my favorite clothing store is no more. Do better Coldwater Creek - the whole reason you bought this company (loyal customers) is riding on it.
Old time customer
I’ve been a Soft Surroundings customer since their store days and always loved the brand. But my recent experience was awful. I placed an order on July 26 that stayed in “waiting to fulfill” for weeks. I tried to cancel, but customer service couldn’t clearly explain anything, and the manager simply said they had the product and would send it soon.
Right after I hung up, my order status changed to “shipped” — but USPS only had a label created, no movement. As a long-time loyal customer, I’m deeply disappointed in the poor communication, high fees, and misleading updates.

I have ordered twice this year and it has taken over 2 months or more to receive the items I ordered. There was no contact or communication from the company about the delay. When I asked to cancel the order they refused and sent me a code for a reduced return. This used to be a reliable company- I will not order again.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. I ordered many items when I discovered that they had closed the local store. I had to return four of the items. When you make a return they charge a low "processing fee" but then tack on "adjustments and taxes" that are approximately 26% of the refund for returned items. I used to love this company; not anymore. This is a ridiculously high fee (over $100 "adjustments and taxes" on a refund). AVOID... AVOID... AVOID
3 months to ship a dress
I used to love Soft Surroundings; however, I will not be ordering from them ever again. I ordered a dress in April for a May wedding. The dress didn’t arrive until July! I was charged $9.95 to return a dress that took 3 months to arrive. Basically by the time I got this dress, it was too warm of weather to wear. Totally unacceptable! They have lost a formerly loyal customer.

Its about Kara dress blue floral batik. Very cheap matrieal. Given the situation of tariffs and the current government, we are left with cheaper quality things but the prices continue to rise. We pay for cheap material not even 100%cotton but we pray price for organic pure cotton. I have a few dresses from soft surroundings and I have a similar dress I purchased 2 yrs ago. There is a huge difference in the fabric and its quality. That dress has weight. This dress material is so thin and is SO CHEAP! I returned it.
Illegal practices
Terrible company. When attempting to exchange a tunic for a smaller size I was charged $9.95 to return the original item AND the company did not refund the sales tax I paid for the original item. This is an illegal practice.

This company is terrible in its customer service. They charge for shipping and then use a cheap Carrier that cannot be tracked and takes 2 weeks to ship out and receive. I will never order from this company again And people should be aware of buying from them they are terrible as to their service. Shipping is a disaster. And don't think you're going to get your money back if you complain because you are not.

This company is a horrible company to purchase from. They offer incentives and then send you out garbage. I received a purple top with a bleached out white circle, I returned it and they deducted my entire discount off of that one item to refund me, they are desperate for survival, due to their unethical business practices, and they will take anything they can get away with from you.
Absolutely horrible customer service
Absolutely horrible customer service. Seems like nobody is home or checking emails, chats etc. I have been trying to purchase for two weeks but the check out does not acknowledge the discount that was promoted and even sent to me the day I tried to order. I have written, sent screen shots and have been mostly ignored except for one form letter response that they would get back which they never did. I used to be a good customer. I have no confidence in them now.
Fraudulent Payment Processing
I placed an order using PayPal as the payment source with the split payment option. After verifying the approval on my credit card account and completing the order, the entire purchase amount appeared on my account.
I can't even speak to the quality of the items, they've already soured me to the experience and I haven't opened the package yet.
It's tempting to dispute with PayPal since they have record of the approval in their system.
Also, knowing that this is a Coldwater Creek company, buy everything on extreme clearance becauee everything is marked up at least 3-4x retail value.
A $79 skirt should not fall apart so quickly
A $79 skirt I purchased began to fray after about 2 1/2 months of very gentle use and only one cold water washing. I provided pictures. Customer service replied in a timely fashion with what was essentially, a "too bad" email because it was past their 60-day limit. I expected this from Walmart, not Soft Surroundings. Very unhappy.
HORRIBLE COMPANY
Do NOT purchase anything online or for that matter, in the stores. There is no way I can explain my frustration with the horrible company. I purchased 8 shirts from them and paid for expedited shipping at the beginning of May. The items came in multiple shipments, with the last one arriving in June. The first one arrived at least two weeks late. I paid for the expedited 3-day shipping because I had an event five days later. I emailed them everyday about the issue and did not get a response for weeks. I sent all the items back except two items. Now, my refund is all messed up and they just want to blame it on the bank. I doubt that very seriously. They have screwed up left, right, and center. I will never buy anything from them again. And, I believe Coldwater Creek is owned by Soft Surroundings, or vice-versa. I will never shop there either. Horrific experience. I don't know how they are still in business.

Communication is difficult to impossible due to the nlanguage barrier. I made the mistake of ordering by phone instead of online. My email address was incorrect and my name was misspelled on the shipping label. The package was sent to our delivery service but they didn’t know who to deliver it to. Fortunately when we contacted them with tracking information they were able to find the package.
When I called the corporate office in st.Louis I was re-routed to the Phillippines.
I only hope that once my dress is delivered it fit’s because it will be hell to return and I’ll have the pleasure of paying the postage.
This is very sad because soft surroundings was one of my favorite stores😢
Excess charges
I have been shopping here for several years and bought and kept a number of items. It has always bothered me that not only do they charge a lot to ship an item but you are also charged again to return any item. As if that weren't bad enough, now they also will not refund the sales tax, which happens to be against the law in Illinois where I live. So just to try an item can now cost you over
$40! I will no longer ship at Soft Surroundings. Highway robbery.
I’m still waiting on my order
I’m still waiting on my order, even though emails said I’ve received it. No way does anything show up 2 days after ordering, unless it’s Amazon. Hopefully Soft Surroundings will make good on my order. If not, I’m out $$, and I learned a lesson.

Soft Surroundings charges $15.99 for shipping. For that amount, they should send it priority. I ordered May 28, 2025 and received it June 10, 2025. Too long for $15.99. Also no update on shipping. Only said awaiting pick up from carrier on order date. Nothing further.
