What a lovely gentleman Will is. Nothing is too much trouble. While at a retreat he serviced my sewing machine and took the overlocker back with him. He delivered the overlocker in person which I was overjoyed at. Both machines seem so much smoother when using them now. Thankyou Will for going the extra mile with the servicing…

Whilst at my sewing retreat recently, I had two sewing machines serviced.
Will is a lovely young man and very knowledgeable.
Both my machines sounded and felt so much better to sew with afterwards. I would highly recommend his services and will continue to take my machines to him from now on 😊

My wife’s Pfaff Passport 2.0 had developed an issue where the creation of buttonholes wasn’t quite as it should have been; it would miss a few stitches here and there.
After doing lots of research online to find the best, most trustworthy and highly skilled people to service it and identify the issue, we selected Barnyarns.
The service/repair enquiry was entered into Barnyarns contact field on the website and a telephone call from Barnyarns followed on the next working day. The issues were discussed with the engineer and a date was set for the machine to be dropped off at Barnyarns.
Upon handing the machine over, neither my wife nor I could have been more impressed with the way we were treated by every member of staff involved. Being able to speak directly and discuss everything with the engineers was good but it was exceptional to speak to them in the actual repair station. That kind of service is something that was the norm a number of decades ago, but today it is very rare. Seeing the area of operation just instilled even more trust.
As promised, the machine was serviced and a damaged part was replaced. The machine had otherwise been in excellent condition and was now back in that order.
Whilst in Barnyarns, my wife saw a Pfaff 5.0 on display. She had been considering upgrading for two or three weeks but she had been considering the Pfaff 635 Ambition, one of which as also on display. Time for some professional advice!
We were introduced to Callum who was extremely knowledgeable and explained the differences between each machine and their capabilities. The 5.0 was a pre-loved machine which had had very little use, confirmed by its own stored readings. The machine’s sale price was around half of its original price. It was too good an offer to miss. Before letting us part with any money, Callum insisted on it going through a full PDI check. Meanwhile we popped into Ripon for an hour or so.
Whilst in Ripon my wife received a call from Callum informing her that a small connection affecting a button or part of the digitiser needed replacing, which he would arrange to do and in turn deliver it to our home some 46 miles away at no charge.
Upon our return to Barnyarns around an hour and a half later, the engineer thoroughly explained the work he had completed and the damage to the part he had replaced on my wife’s Pfaff Passport 2.0. He also showed a piece of fabric detailing the various stitches he had produced using the machine.
As we were about to make payment for the Pfaff 5.0, I asked Callum whether Barnyarns would consider purchasing my wife’s Pfaff Passport 2.0. The engineer certified its health and Callum gave us a really honest offer, even stating that they had actually increased in price since it had been purchased by my wife. She knew that of course, as she had been figuring out costs when looking to upgrade to a Pfaff 635, but it’s not something that a typical sales person would openly disclose as Callum did. He agreed to buy the 2.0 from us and totally waived all of the costs for its service and replacement part that we had already agreed to pay. He also threw in a spool of Gütterman stretch thread that we were already purchasing anyway!
It removed the headache of trying to sell the Pfaff 2.0 privately and reduced significantly the amount we paid to acquire the Pfaff 5.0, a much superior machine to both the 2.0 and the 635.
We were so impressed by everything and everybody at Barnyarns, we will never go elsewhere. In a word, “Excellence.”

Spoke to Callum, because my current machine just stopped working, he was extremely helpful and gave me some good advice. I ordered a new Janome Sewing machine on Thursday and it arrived Friday afternoon! What amazing service, cannot praise them enough, thank you.

My 4 quilting friends & I had an exciting 3 hour visit at Barnyarns today. Callum and the whole team are very knowledgeable and willing to help.Nothing is a trouble.
We took machines in for service but found it impossible to avoid looking at all the new machines in the new showroom. Great time thanks to all the team .

I bought a Bernina from Sew Centre a couple of months ago. They were so helpful in finding the right machine for me. I can honestly say I am over the moon with the machine. It was like going from a Mini to a Maserati for me as I had never owned a Bernina before. I would highly recommend this company as they are all about the customer.

A good decision made to part x one up market machine for a familiar brand,Janome M8 Continental my first 25 yr old model goes to workshops with me , a more recent light weight one is with my god daughter, learning to sew ,the third Janome 6600 is on long term loan to a good friend. This new machine ,onCallum’s recommendation arrived today,I read the book ,wound a bobbin threaded it up and away it went! If you’ve had Janome ,I’d stick with them ,they are sooo intuitive to use reliable ,not temperamental and precise . I had excellent support from everyone at Barnyarns Thank you all .
The only hiccup is it doesn’t fit the drop down on my Horne cabinet so isn’t level with the table , but I think I can live with that !!

A very enjoyable and informative two day course. Janet our instructor demonstrated lots of things and then gave us time to try them out on our machines. It was a real treat for me to just sit with a group of like minded people for a whole two days and have time to explore all the things my amazing 770qe plus can do, with Janet on hand when I got stuck! We came away with printed copies of the Sewing workbook and Embroidery workbook, which are available online, but having the paper copy is so much more user friendly. All the staff we met could not have been more helpful. Another treat was time to look around Barnyarns and purchase anything we wanted with a discount. (Dangerous for the bank account!). A very worthwhile and enjoyable two days.

An excellent two day Bernina 7 series workshop led by Janet Poole who was very knowledgeable . The two days were very informative and the workbooks we came away with were clear with precise easy to follow instructions. We had plenty of opportunity to try out and variety of procedures and find our way round the machines settings.
All the staff at the Sew Centre were friendly and helpful.
Overall a very productive and enjoyable two days.

The two days at SewCentre with Janet, Sew Centre’s BERNINA instructor, was so worthwhile in many ways. I have had my B770QE plus machine for a few months and the course an excellent opportunity to explore and learn more. Day 1 focused on the practical sewing functions and refreshed my understanding of the creative capabilities of this machine. Day 2 covered free motion quilting and using rulers, something I was very interested in. The second day also included the use the machine’s embroidery module. Although I personally didn’t own an embroidery module SewCentre loaned me one for the day so I didn’t miss out. With only 6 students in the class there was plenty of one-on-one time with Janet as well as the general group demonstrations. The bonus was a useful detailed workbook for each day to work through so I’m confident I can build on this learning at home. Access to the shop was there for anything we had forgotten to bring.
I am looking forward to going back in the future. 5* service by the whole team.

I recently bought my first Bernina sewing machine from Sew Centre and am glad I did. The service was fantastic from start to finish and nothing was too much trouble. Callum has been a pleasure to deal with, giving me help and advice throughout. Will went out of his way (literally) to deliver the machine to me, for which I was extremely grateful.

It can be quite stressful buying an expensive item, and more so when it's from a company you aren't familiar with. I needn't have worried. Sew Centre were a joy to deal with and I'll happily do business with them in future. The stellar reviews here are well deserved.

Absolutely excellent customer service. Swapping my machine was one of those times when everything which could go wrong, did. But none of this was Sew Centre’s fault. With everything (delivery delay, faulty machine) they went out of their way to resolve things: getting a video call to see what was wrong, getting a replacement new machine to me the next day and very helpful all round.

Iv been looking to upgrade my sewing machine I'm overwhelmed by the machine knowledge and expertise and shown a machine which would best suit the projects that I do the staff are very friendly and polite

I part-exchanged my old sewing machine for a brand new Bernina, via the Black Friday Boost event which added on an extra 20% to the price offered - just the incentive I needed. Mitch was very informative and helpful. I cannot fault the Sew Centre service throughout, extremely efficient, well organised and very honest too. Next day delivery and collection of new and old machines was an added bonus. Extremely happy customer, thank you.

Brilliant customer service. Knowledgeable person answered my phone call, went straight over to get my Janome sewing machine assessed and they got it back in working order straight away. Sew Centre Ripon is amazing. 5 Stars from me 🥰

I would just like to say that every experience I have had with Sew Centre has been lovely. Callum the owner is so kind and customer oriented, nothing is too much trouble for him. He leads his team with the same mantra and so has created a customer experience that is 2nd to NONE. Every member of the team at Sew Centre is caring of your needs and does their best to help.
If you are ever in need of a sewing/ embroidery machine, or needles and threads, or even just need advice, I strongly suggest SEW CENTRE to be your 1st call. As I said once before ... they are "Simply the BEST "

I originally sent an email ref an exchange and got a call from Callum to discuss my machine but unfortunately due to not having the original packing it was not viable. My machine is an embroidery 6needle with stand, so is huge and the distance to actually visit Barnyarns 592 miles there and back was not an option either! I must say that he did originally offer me a great price, quite a bit more than I was expecting to be honest!
Anyway Callum knew that I wanted a new machine so he told me about two machines that he thought I would like and sent to me a video to watch. I was very impressed by both machines but I must admit the Pfaff icon 1 knocked the other one out of the park! I called him to discuss buying the machine and he did me a fantastic deal. I then received a call from Finn on Tuesday regarding delivery, I told him that I would be out on Wednesday and Friday so he arranged for the machine to arrive today. I have since spoken to Mitch about a missing item and he it sorted everything out and even chucked in a few freebies. I have already received an email saying that I had a dpd delivery for tomorrow. The customer service is so good that I applaud them all. Callum, Finn and Mitch, thanks guys, I couldn't have asked for better and the machine is awesome!! I will definitely be using their services again in the future and who knows may even upgrade in the next two years! By the way they also do a great deal on threads so mosey over onto their website and have have a good look!

Barnyarns have more than earned my trust and loyalty. I have bought many threads, needles etc from them over many years and recently had my beloved Bernina serviced there. I can’t fault their customer service, it’s been excellent. I have to add that their range of threads is extensive and I usually take advantage of the multi buy deals too.

There are no words except truly exceptional service. Above and beyond any expectations right from enquiry to delivery.

I was a 4 hour drive from Sew Centre so I checked that the machine I was interested in was available to see and that someone could demonstrate it for me. I also asked about part exchange as I had a retired model and wished to upgrade. An added bonus was the Pfaff demonstration was on at the time of my visit and I was able to book a one on one demonstration on the model I was interested in. Armed with the old machine I was met at the door and the engineer after a good diagnostic look was able to give me a good part exchange price. I was then shown over the new machine with all its bells and whistles. I also agreed to look at the next model up but as I thought it was more machine than I needed though the demo was very informative and solidified my decision. I was able to listen in on the group demos and picked up some very useful tips. I found the one on one very helpful and the difference between someone selling and someone telling you what you can use the features for was exactly what I needed. So I came home with a new machine and left my old one behind, a very happy bunny!
